>Video game OSTs
Picture not related.
But the OST is the only redeeming quality of that pileta of garbage Undertale is.
undertale's music is good while experiencing it in-game but as an album it doesn't work nearly as well outside of the game
Nicely meme'd my friend.
Nice picks.
>listens to music
fucking brainlet detected, who does that?
>nostalgiafag thinks earthbound ost is better than undertale
Only good post in this thread so far, favorite track, user?
youtube.com
>same 8 songs 100 times
lol no
youtube.com
I've fucked to this song so many times by now
Yeah but those 8 songs are damn good.
It is impossible to listen to as an album though, I'll give you that.
pic related is very good. never played the game, but checked out the soundtrack after i saw ben frost was involved

Its a fucking shame this game failed as hard as it did, its worthy of a lot of praise
You're right, the soundtrack doesn't work at all as an album. But I appreciate how all of the different variations of songs from the game are included on the OST.

I think you hear this in Anticitizen One where you enter a building and can see a glimpse of G Man in a TV. Still sounds scary as it did then.
I fucking hated this game, but by god the soundtrack got me through it.
Bastion

LSD Dream Emulator and Yume Nikki obviously
Unironically one of best VGM albums ever made
I prefer JSRF honestly
>nostalgiafag
I played it like two months ago lol
Undertale ost is just overrated, you know it but you deny it.
sonic adventure 2
We all agree this is the best track from Undertale, right?
youtube.com
Also it feels like a lot of the best songs are brief song doodles that he never really finished. Last Show is fucking god-tier but it's just a 10 second remix of Metal Crusher's main motif.
I gotta go with the title track

I'm also a huge fan of this Sonic track in particular:

play this at my funeral
N.A release of DDR Max 2 is also the absolute best mix, but I guess DDR doesn't count...
It does so much with so little.
So fucking glad this is on spotify now. Unironically the best of it's genre.
I find JSRF so much more repetitive. I really can't get into it. The gameplay is much better though.
Great soundtrack.
It's a shame they dramatically reduced audio bitrate for the Switch port, although it still sounds great it lost that extra depth that makes djent slam.
Great OST
At least we have original Tsukasa Masuko's works
I have so many OSTs in mind
I love the Skullgirls OST a whole lot, probably one of the reasons why I have it as one of my top games of all time
HoMM3 best soundtrack.

Good.
Excellent game with an excellent soundtrack. Fits the game perfectly.
Two games that utilise music to its fullest. Magnificent as albums alone as well.
Why the hate for Undertale? It was a cool game.
Lol
>It was a cool game.
Maybe if you've never played any of the Mother games and or are a tumblrite.
Hey look! The anti-Undertale hivemind circlejerk is here!
hotline miami
I love Mother 2 and 3 (didn't play the first one) and that was actually part of why I thought Undertale was cool, because it reminded me of those games but wasn't a complete ripoff or anything.
BB is god teir. Not really VGM tho but if you like VGM you will undoubtedly love this and his other work. Frozen flame is my jam
Lol.
this man gets it
Hotline Miami... Can't go wrong with it.
Name 3 video game soundtracks that work as a solid standalone album, i.e. strip away any relevance to the game. I can only think of one.
Guitar Hero I-III
I can't even think of one. Must of them have maybe 3 good songs and all the rest are filler
Pretty good taste ITT

I remember before Undertale became autistically popular Sup Forums loved it. They probably felt they had to be contrarians.
Good choice.
only one i can think of offhand is risk of rain, i haven't even played the game but the soundtrack makes such a good album
Desu they generally aren't made with the idea of being a concise concept album. A good game ost has it's bigger impact when you feel it along with the playing/memory of what you felt when you were playing.
I'm sad it too this many replies for SH to come up. Akira is one of the most underrated talents in gaming.
>underrated
Not sure you know what this word means.
And the sequel. I don't think there even is another album like this in existence.
Brings me right back to when MvM was revealed. Fuck.
youtube.com
Ben frost is a freaking genius
Yes
Shit taste
this
hear me out, the game definitely has some cringy dialogue and the characters are pretty fucking shit, but the ost makes up for it x100. The entire game reminds me of growing up in a small town bordering a swamp in the middle of coastal wooded nowhere with less than a hundred people.
GOATFAGS GET OFF MY BOARD
Atmospheric as fuck senpai
YES. sometimes I pop the theme from the door room on when I'm writing. also, Boggly Woods.
I'm a frk for moody ambient stuff
the whole st is golden.
I like the Tetris one.
Are you as stoked as I am for the eventual Mondo release??
Hell yes
youtube.com
Ending sucked but the game looked so pretty and that more than made up for it.
Hotline Miami 1 and 2
Lisa The Painful/Joyful
Max Payne 3
Stalker
GTA V's original score
Watch Dogs 2
R6 Siege
The Warriors
Payday 2
The OST helped some of the more poignant moments out a lot. Cycles, Greg Woods, and Rainy Day are pretty nice to listen to.
OST makes the game a 9/10 for sure
