Hell or High Water

>Based Bridges
>Based Pine
>Based Foster
Why is this so fucking good? What are Sup Forums thoughts on it?

Pretty decent. Thought I'd love it but ended up just liking it.

I enjoyed it
>Injun guy rambles on about something something muh land
>immediately gets shot in the head

>hell or high reddit
no

Hell or High Water was too deep for you

think about that

Ben Foster is fucking garbage

2016 was a shit year for kino

Super slow in the beginning, lots of boring/repetitive scenes, finally builds up to pretty good ending.
Could've been way better/10.

Where were you when I wanted to discuss it this past summer?

Pine was surprisingly good, what's with all these boring pretty boy actors only famous because of capeshit-tier stuff that turn out to actually be decent actors?
Hemsworth was great in Blackhat, Evans was great in Snowpiercer... Really makes you wish movies like these were the norm instead of the big blockbusters.

lol Pine wasnt actually good its the good script that made out of the worst actor.put him to next to Bridges and he is blown away.

Also enjoyed it. It's a movie worth watching once. Shows how shitty rural poor America can be in the texas area and makes for an interesting neo-western. Decent bro-movie. Just wasn't super compelling.

But The Place Beyond the Pines had better heists and more compelling story. Not really the same movie, but it's the closest comparison I can draw from recent movies.

good, but too much of that not so subtle
>DEM BANKS ROBBIN MY LAND
>SMALL TOWN SUCKS
>BEING INJUNS SUCKS

who are you quoting?

fucking idiot

The most paint-by-numbers movie I've ever seen. The definition of dishonest, lazy filmmaking.

That scene where alberto said "it used to be my ancestors land, then your ancestors took it, now its taken from them not by an army but by *points at bank* "

Alberto said " this town has a rattlesnake for a waitress and a small hardware store that charges twice what wallmart does" Jeff bridges replied that people have lived here for 150 years and alberto remarked that caveman lived in caves for 150000 years and don't do that anymore

herding cows to the river in the 21st century "no winder my kids wont do this shit" Jeff Bridges remarked by saying no one will come help them

salty comanche at casino

Foster overacts the entire movie, Pine is stiff and dull, Bridges just plays Bridges for the entire movie, the message of the film seems to me 5 years to late and sort of simple.
>muh ebil banks
All in all, it was ok. 6/10.

Pine is a fine actor. I liked him in Finest Hour.

Offbyone Kenobi strikes back.

Fuckoff faggot.

This should have been up for best picture. I guess there weren't enough black transgender muslims in it for the Oscars.

i liked it and it had good moments of intensity. overall it didn't do anything to stand out, its well made, but it doesn't really stand out.

this is up for best picture you goddamn turnip, kill yourself

Who /comanche/ here?

None of it is portrayed exactly positively though
It can just as validly viewed in a "fucking (((merchants))) are ruining the country" light and the brothers' story can be viewed as a revolt against the modern world and an attempt to hold onto an older way of life and preserve their family unit, as dysfunctional and uttely broken as it already is

probably the best film of 2016 for me. Didn't feel like it was trying to be something it wasn't.

Just an enjoyable bank heist movie
