1. Bach
2. Beethoven
3. Mozart

this is the only correct order

Grimes

>EDM

Bach is garbage. Muzak of his time.

Classics as in actual classical era or just “””classical””” music?
If you mean the latter then Erik Satie

1. Chopin
2. Vivaldi
3. Tsaikovski

only a true pleb would ask such a moronic question tbqh

if youre talking from the perspective of the early 1700s - then yes: he was viewed as borderline shit-tier composer in his time

but when there was a revival of his music in the 1800s people actually started to appreciate his genius. It's simple, he was a mastermind way ahead of his time.

step aside nerds

>ahead of his time
? ? ? ?

Thom Yorke and the Radioheads

Mozart looks like a cheeky cunt.

>memerik satie
Opinion discarded

What’s wrong with satie?

He wasn't a true composer

How so?

beware of spiders user

Wrong.

Classical = Western art
Classicism = era

>Erik fucking Satie
lmao literally muzak

Yikes.

Attached: Alexander-Scriabin-1903.jpg (500x677, 46K)

Ravel

He was an amateur, never had the ambition of creating great music

1. Beethoven
2. Mozart
3. Bach
Fixed that for you.

For me, it's Rachmaninoff

yes, in the sense of how you interpret the legacy of generations before you. Sounds paradox but isn't

Literally wrote things that kiddos call "le epic jazz chords" now and influenced and inspired every future serious composer after him. Wrote profound, intricate and beautiful music. So yes, he was ahead of his time. You can shit on popular things all you like but you cannot deny Bach, you will literally look like a retard in everybody's eyes.

thats a nice way of putting it actually

lol bach is my favorite composer
its just an odd statement to make regarding him because he was considered behind the times and old fashioned in his own day
not generally a fan of statements like "ahead of their time" when it comes to music

for me, he is big

>Classical = Western art
>Classicism = era
Oh this is actually a good way of putting it. I always hated using the term “western art music”.

>literally muzak
:(

It's okay user I just don't like Satie, just my opinion.

Any of you nerds know the what's the name of the music that goes like "dundundundundun dunduruntadunta dundundundunduruntadunta." It starts slow and then gets loud and fast. The slow part starts with a violin.

1.) Petzold
2.) Poly
3.) Steve Reich

Literally no one gives a fuck about the Classical era outside of a couple composers.

Correct

Reminder:

Yeah I know that one

I love...

>not including Brahms
pleb

also not including Wagner

Brahms. He perfected classical music. Any innovation beyond him was either la pour l'art or took away from what classical music inherently was. I love many later composers and many of their innovations but it was something different.

by la pour l'art I mean they changed things for the sake of changing things, not because they thought it sounded better

The Big Bux himself.

I know that I'm an outsider with this but I think Strauss was one of the greatest, too. His instrumentation is unsurpassed.

>Shitpin
>Vivaldi
The validity of your opinion is lower than ever now

Though I think he's over-hyped a bit Mahler would still be my pick

It's honestly Bach.

so you're saying the best composer of all times is overhyped?

hm...

Yes

Bach is baroque
Beethoven is romantic
So I guess Mozart is the greatest classical composer of all time.\???!

Wagner
Shostakovich
Satie

faggot

You have to go back

Nope. He is objectively garbage. It's just the same shit with a few variations over and over. Guy was an autist, so he couldn't stop. No sense of negative space, says literally nothing of the era he lived in, just like mall muzak.

>Look at me

Correct.
Based moondog poster

Basically. Similar to the conceptual autists of the post-war era, theoretically good but sounds like shit with no sense of tension and release.

Beethoven, obviously.

He was an undisputed master of harmonics and polyphonics.
Not to mention his big influence on Mozart, Haydn and literally everyone after him.

>Bach sounds like shit.

Wew lad.
It seems you literally don't "get it".
Or you're not playing it correctly.

Emil Cioran loved him. All you really need to know.

>This person's personal preferences discredit a historically recognized composer

Bach
Mozart
Beethoven
>Muzak is bad because it's corporate!!! meme
>in 2018

>it's 2018
>progressivist argument for music

for me, it's debussy

People like him because of bourgeois ideology, no other reason than a cult of accepted opinion.
critique-musicale.com/bachen.htm

And obviously the polemics exaggerating his worth for political reasons.

im aware lad, that wasn't the issue in question

Very nice music like the picture.

Shit and misinformed opinion. What a pleb!

>classical

>modern classical isn't classical
Oh, I love this meme.

Xenakis is shit.

>same shit with a few variations over and over
This is largely true for every composer.
But when the "same shit" is the best music ever created, why change?

BACH BACH BACH BACH

>No sense of tension and release

This is what happens when plebs who've listended to a yt classical playlist once talk about classical. All of the big three are great.

Vivaldi

>Crl+F "Tchaikovsky"

What the fuck guys

>bibaldi

XD I LISTEN TO CLASSICAL MUSIC TOO. XOXOXOXOXOXXOXO

another composer once said about vivaldi that "he only wrote one concerto, but 500 times"

also Bach isn´t classical in the academic meaning of the word

in the non academic meaning my favourite is Olivier Messiaen

He gets my vote

What do you mean by greatest? They aren't sprinters

>posts a song about cum
Opinion discarded

>Olivier Messiaen
Finally somebody with fucking taste.

um no sweeties

Bach
Wagner
Paganini

this goy

Attached: 949769.jpg (300x241, 12K)

>Paganini
literally the nu-metal of classical music

He was both old fashioned in many ways and way ahead of his time. His tonal ambiguity and chromaticism could rival Wagner in his late works like The Art of Fugue.

mussorgsky

>Fuck on me

By strictly limiting it to "classical" Era music Mozart is the greatest of all time

Why did this make me laugh so much?

>all these plebs
Mozart > Bach >>> Thoven
