La Liga considering games in USA and China to boost global appeal and take on the Premier League

> La Liga are ready to take league games overseas, hosting them in China and the United States, in a bid to try and fight back against the Premier League's financial dominance.

> The president of the Spanish top flight, Javier Tebas, witnessed the immense success of the pre-season clásico in Miami back in July and envisions a future of packed-out stadiums in China, the US and beyond for La Liga matches.

> “La Liga is global entertainment and we want to grow the international appeal of La Liga,” said Tebas. “As part of that effort we are discussing the option of playing some of the league matches outside of Spain. These discussions are still in early stages, but as La Liga, we support the idea.”

Is La Liga a travelling circus?

>La Liga marketing is only "G-guys watch Málaga against Getafe, I s-swear it will be good r-right guys?"

Camp Nou is full of tourists anyway so it'll make no difference

Not even Spanish people watch La Liga outside of the big 2. Their average attendance if you subtract Real and Barca is comparable with England's third tier. They should start watching their own league if they want more money. Everyone bangs on about muh foreign TV deal but the PL's domestic TV deal is larger than Spain and Germany combined because we actually watch the league and don't cater to one or two teams, so the league is actually interesting

They have ncie comfy stadiums there though.

protip: they will always be second tier because of the language, presentation, ugly crests and uniforms, ugly nicaragua tier stadiums, horrible organization, finger picked calendar, corruption, hilarious referee committee, third world tier spectators and behaviour, shitty journailsm, lack of accountability of aggressions during games, etc

this retard saw that miami clasico make cash but didn't get a cent lmao he's so useless he has the most watched game worldwide and the top teams and players of the last decade and liga tv money is still absolute shit

hope barcelona jumps to ligue1 and makes this turd sink

>la liga thinking it will reach the same level of premier league

watching la liga is like watching a unbalanced game of super smash bros melee where the only two good viable characters are fox and sheik, nobody ever wins in la liga except madrid and barcelona, unlike in the premier league where it's fairly balanced compared to la liga

No. You got that wrong. Melee is like the Premier League, only 6 characters can win tournaments. While the rest of the cast can wreck your shit if you don't respect their play.

On the other hand Sm4sh is like the Salvadoran Primera División. More than 6 characters are viable, but it's boooooring as fuck.

>ugly nicaragua tier stadiums
Kek
In my country the only viable teams are Saprissa, L.D.A and Herediano

>protip: they will always be second tier because of the language, presentation, ugly crests and uniforms, ugly nicaragua tier stadiums, horrible organization, finger picked calendar, corruption, hilarious referee committee, third world tier spectators and behaviour, shitty journailsm, lack of accountability of aggressions during games, etc
I don't regularly watch La Liga. Is it really that bad?

>Is it really that bad?
it's an exaggeration, but if you want to compete with the premier league you need to solve all those problems

La liga has very poor organization and shady moves at times. Overall it's a second tier product spoken in spanish, you can't expect it to do well in anglo countries without a major update and facelift, it's not a well rounded, oiled and finished product

what if a bear attacks? not so comfy then

El Classico in the USA would unironically sell out our biggest stadiums in a half hour.

Yep. Hernández Hernández, the guy who let this play slide as not a goal nor a penalty because Madrid hadn't won a Liga in eight years, got the ref of the year award

Barcelona should have 2 leagues more wasn't it for Madrid's refereeing

Latin America is a more realistic market. If La Liga and Liga NOS merged they would be more attractive to international viewers as well. Right now there are to many shit teams from small irrelevant towns or suburbs. Decresing the number of teams and increasing the demand on stadiums would help also. La Liga is a decent league if we renove the worst cancer (Atletico Madrid for instance). Lastly buying players from Scandinavia, Benelux and other wealthy marketd with irrelevant leagues could help increase the popularity of the league as well.

There's a hell of alot less money in Latin America, though.

so doing la liga in africa is a good thing

>got the ref of the year award
oh shit I forgot this one lmao corrupt pieces of shit

barcelona needs to go to another league

This is a joke, this got laughed of when some English FA suggested it for the premier league years ago.

Spanish is the second most spoken language and he should focus on our former colonies to watch our league and not those that were from uk or france
also lfp calendar is fucking shit

I would rather watch Bournemouth vs Burnley than lets say Sevilla-Atletico tbqh

Yeah, problem is there's no money in those territories. The Far East or anglophone North America, that's your two options really.

>Spanish is the second most spoken language
> our former colonies
all poor and shit countries with no money, there's no market there, even spain is considered first world compared to those

>This is a joke, this got laughed of when some English FA suggested it for the premier league years ago.
never even heard of this

just what we need, more Spanish speaking people coming over here

just play these games in Miami that's a Spanish country already

>all poor and shit countries with no money
fix them then

"Game 39" was what the press called it.The plan was for every team to play an extra game abroad, all over the world. The idea was quickly put down.

there's money though
they are not piss poor and they can watch our league in normal time not like the fareast

Yes but EPL will always have an edge due to language. The only market that La Liga can be a nr 1 exporter to is Latin America.

ewww
i dont want normies to watch my favorite comfy superior leagues
they can stick with the jewmericanized sjw friendly '''''''''premier''''''''' league

The type of soccer played in La Liga can be characterized as an extremely technically
advanced style. Even the teams toward the bottom end of the standings possess
some very astute technicians. Due to the technically proficient style, the tempo of
matches traditionally moves at a slower pace. The flow of the game also tends to be
interrupted more in La Liga due to the increased number of stoppages for foul play.

thank you capitalism
