It's not about sensitivity at all, it's about propaganda. If you don't mention it, people won't think about it, or remember how poorly the investigation into the matter was, or the testimony from people there that day, or the confiscation of all the surveillance videos around the pentagon, and then release 2 blurry frames years later and claim it's proof of the plane impact.
