Being a pretentious prick, I would like it to be a character study. The movie will begin at the end of his first rampage, and the bulk of the movie would revolve around the life he lived before the second. I can just picture the guy looking at an lee Enfield he's about steal, and then cut to black.

Pic related is a Dutch femanon who was murdered in 2005. It took years to find the killer and he wasn't convicted until 2014. The guy was also convicted for a rape and murder from 1994 (the Putten Murdercase, possibly the most notorious Dutch murder) which he performed when he was still a teenager. The murderer was caught only because he made videos of himself dancing and put them on a flashdrive that belonged to the femanon. Nobody understands how an ostensibly mentally challenged man became the most elusive serial killer ever in The Netherlands.
Caleb Harris
>Isdal Woman The woman from that sketch looks just like my mom, and my mom's aunt who was born in South Africa and then moved back to the Netherlands with her family disappeared in 1970 while traveling through Europe using fake identities.
Worth noting that there are 2 guys who spend over a decade in jail for the Putten murdercase, even though as it turns out, they were completely innocent.
Iirc it had something to do with ruthless police interrogations cracking one of them even though they were innocent but I might be confusing it with another case

Turns out I'm kinda mixing it up with the Schiedam-Park murdercase (where a 10yo girl got killed and a 11yo boy got stabbed in a park). The questionable interrogation and concealed evidence applies to that guy, leadng to one guy spending 4 years in prison.
Putten Murdercase has 2 guys going to prison for 10 years because of the police tunnelvisioning on them even though the 'evidence' against them was really weak, up to the point they get 2 others to confess against them (to kinda save their own skin, even though all 4 were innocent).

This suddenly reminded me of the way they caught the BTK killer.
>In his letters to police, Rader asked if his writings, if put on a floppy disk, could be traced or not. The police answered his question in a newspaper ad posted in the Wichita Eagle saying it would be safe to use the disk. On February 16, 2005, Rader sent a purple 1.44-Megabyte Memorex floppy disk to Fox TV affiliate KSAS-TV in Wichita.[29][30] Also enclosed were a letter, a gold-colored necklace with a large medallion, and a photocopy of the cover of a 1989 novel about a serial killer (Rules of Prey).[30] >Police found metadata embedded in a deleted Microsoft Word document that was, unbeknownst to Rader, on the floppy disk.[31] The metadata contained Christ Lutheran Church, and the document was marked as last modified by "Dennis".[32] An internet search determined that a "Dennis Rader" was president of the church council.[29] From the Home Depot incident, the police also knew BTK owned a black Jeep Cherokee. When investigators drove by Rader's house, they noticed a black Jeep Cherokee parked outside.[33]
If this happened in the movie people would call it stupid.

It was about this time that Fish began to indulge in self-harm. He would embed needles into his groin and abdomen.[10] After his arrest, X-rays revealed that Fish had at least 29 needles lodged in his pelvic region.[10] He also hit himself repeatedly with a nail-studded paddle and inserted wool doused with lighter fluid into his anus and set it alight.[15]

>Albert Fish was a child rapist and cannibal. He boasted that he had eaten "children in every state." >Fish chose victims who were either mentally handicapped or African American. Fish tortured, mutilated, and murdered the youngsters--they were all children--with a meat cleaver, butcher knife, and a small handsaw; he solidified his reputation as the most viscous child murderer in criminal history. >Though barely literate, Fish wrote taunting letters to the parents of his victims, gruesomely detailing how he slayed, butchered, cooked, and with "great enjoyment" dined on their offspring. He would inevitably declare that a "child's roasted rump is the most toothsome dish in all of gastronomy." >Additionally, Fish was a masochist. He would insert wool doused with lighter fluid into his own anus, and set it alight for his enjoyment. >Fish was finally arrested. He immediately confessed to killing 700 children. He smiled as he described the grisly details of his tortures and murders. One of the detectives said, "He appeared as the devil himself." I mean this guy was a real jerk!

With all the talk of orwelian technology, atleast it's conforting that serial killers can't usually do it for long nowadays, with forensics, cameras, etc.

It's actually easier than you'd think Hit rural towns, a different town/city/state for every victim, make sure you only kill people you've never met. Never revisit the crime scene Wear gloves, a long black jacket, a baseball cap or a fedora (lol) Have spare clothes in your car Leave the area as soon as you're finished
Done, nothing to link you to the crime. Even if you fuck up and spend too long picking a victim and people remember you as "that shady guy", the evidence will be circumstantial and you should have been using a fake name anyway
But this is Sup Forums, so if any of you edgemeisters actually tried this, you'd find impressive new ways to fuck up and get caught

They just become truck drivers these days, user. It's only when they're caught for something else that they get connected to all the missing women and murders, because as a truck driver you can easily pick up victims with no connection to you, dump their bodies where they're less likely to be found and then disappear into another state or country before people even start suspecting the person is dead.
Seriously, never trust a truck driver.
It's kind of scary to think of how easy it must have been to be serial killer in New York when people were first flooding in, all those people arriving alone to seek their fortune in America and whatnot, though. So many old basements with dirt floors across New York must have bodies in them.

>The machine used in the incident was a Komatsu D355A bulldozer[9] fitted with makeshift armor plating covering the cabin, engine and parts of the tracks. In places this armor was over 1 foot (30 cm) thick, consisting of 5000-psi Quikrete concrete mix sandwiched between sheets of tool steel (acquired from an automotive dealer in Denver), to make ad-hoc composite armor. This made the machine impervious to small arms fire and resistant to explosives: indeed three external explosions and more than 200 rounds of ammunition fired at the bulldozer had no effect on it.[1]
For visibility the bulldozer was fitted with several video cameras linked to two monitors mounted on the vehicle's dashboard; the cameras were protected on the outside by 3-inch (76 mm) shields of bullet-resistant plastic.[1] Onboard fans and an air conditioner were used to keep Heemeyer cool while driving, and compressed-air nozzles were fitted to blow dust away from the video cameras. He had made three gun-ports, fitted for a .50 caliber sniper rifle, a .308 semi-automatic, and a .22 long rifle, all fitted with a half-inch-thick steel plate. Heemeyer apparently had no intention of leaving the cabin once he entered it.[1] Authorities speculated he may have used a homemade crane – found in his garage – to lower the armor hull over the dozer and himself. "Once he tipped that lid shut, he knew he wasn't getting out", Daly said. Investigators searched the garage where they believe Heemeyer built the vehicle and found cement and armor steel.[1]

Evidence going missing would be too much of a risk for him if he actually was a cop. Sadly evidence goes missing all the fucking time in police stations. Because you've always got a ton of cops who really have no business being cops who'll misplace/misfile things or decide to take evidence home to play detective or to wow their buddies with. Pretty much every famous murder case has evidence that's gone missing over the years.

Not so much a "true crime" thing, but ever since I first read the manifesto/diary of Elliot Rodger I've thought it would make an amazing cringe-comedy movie. Just showing what a reeeing loser he was, trying to push people off the platform and getting pushed down himself, throwing beverages at couples, complaining about how unfair life it while he's driving his nice car and going to movie premieres and shit. Have it end before he actually goes on the spree, only showing his pathetic life and musings.

Damn I never considered this. That's pretty freaking when you think about it.
Traveling salesmen are probably serial killers too. Go all over the continental US, you stop at a town, see a girl you want to rape/murder, and then move onto the next town. Pre-1970's, you could probably get away with dozens of murders without anyone figuring you out.
>Brick Top: You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. >Sol: Would someone mind telling me, who are you? >Brick Top: And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig shit, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig."
Snatch and Hannibal made me realize just how fucked-up eating pork could be if the farmer was a psycho killer. It's why I've sworn off of any type of pig/boar meat since then.
Samuel Campbell
>Implying Andrea Yates and Candy Montgomery aren't kino.

Even if the travelling salesman isn't a serial killer or serial rapist I'd still bet on him being a shady fuck, stealing, cheating on any wife/girlfriend and having fifty kids in forty states. You just don't get normal people travelling the country to sell shit on their own.
It used to be that sailors were seen as untrustworthy, but at least sailors have a bunch of workmates that they're stuck socialising with in constant close proximity for weeks or months on end. A truck driver or lone travelling salesman live too much of a solitary life while meeting too many people for it to be healthy.
Caleb Taylor
That would explain why Ray Kroc was a piece-of-shit. Just saw The Founder and all that traveling and being rejected must've unhinged him.

This guy is pretty generic as far as serial killers go, but it was the highest number of all Leafland.
>A truck driver or lone travelling salesman live too much of a solitary life while meeting too many people for it to be healthy. And they have means of transportation to get out of the crime scene as well as legitimate reasons for passing through states.

Here's one that no one ever talks about and is going on right now.
This person has been killing young men in Boston for a long time, but for whatever reason, no one even thinks he's real.
I'd like you guys to take a little look at it, and hear what you think.
Men aren't going to be sensationalized as possible murder victims so much as young attractive white girls/women, white children, or white men who have a lot of friends and community ties. Or a guy whose really good-looking or comes from a wealthy privileged family.
Nowadays, killers go after hookers, runaways, homeless, illegal immigrants, non-white women, gays, and anyone else that isn't seen as white mainstream. Most people wouldn't bat an eye if they disappeared or were killed. It's not top-priority.
Jack Clark
pic related, the beast of birkenshaw >successfully defended himself in court >almost got a guy whose family he killed convicted and hanged for their murders >killed another family, stayed in their home pulling the curtains back and forth >stole their car, gave a police officer who was investigating another victim of his a ride in said car >tell police officer that he feels they're not looking in the right place >last words were reportedly "turn up the radio and I'll go quietly"
