I

Why is this Dortmund shareholder obsessed with Pulisic?

looks like that kid i used to beat up in the high school bathroom.

never heard of him

The US hasn’t waited for anything. In the 1920s, the US was on the verge of dominating international soccer both as a country and as the host of the best league in the world. The US is the reason substitutions in the sport exist. Interest in the sport collapsed though for a multitude of reasons, one of which was we thought other sports were just more interesting.

>be USA
>play Trinidad and Tobago
>get TRI
>no WC spot for Murica
>Sup Forums Pulisic commit sudoku

We would just laugh and continue watching the sports we actually care about. It’s the rest of the world that would be upset that they wouldn’t get to see the US play in Russia.

>Landon Donovan - the 1st official American football superstar!
>Freddy Adu - the 1st official American football superstar!
>Clint Dempsey - the 1st official American football superstar!
>Michael Bradley - the 1st official American football superstar!

Is this /bundes/?

I can't hear those apologies spee

Pulisic is a great talent, but at this age it'S impossible to say if he's going to make it as a "worldclass" player.

Dempsey and Donovan were legitimately great players who would have been stars on the world stage had they grown up in a country with greater focus in developing soccer talent and funneling it towards major clubs.

Pulisic is benefiting from the road that they paved for talented athletes in the US to be more intensively scouted by European clubs, and better developed in the US by actual soccer academics instead of colleges.

Nobody ever said that about Bradley desu

Pulisic is much better than Dempsey and Donovan were at his age, but still too early to tell how good he'll be

>Michael Bradley - the 1st official American football superstar!
We all called him shit and said shit about him like "He's only in the squad because he's the Coach's son" when he was first called up.

>Dempsey and Donovan were legitimately great players
No they weren't.

Kys.

Dempsey grew up in a poor as fuck family that lived in a trailer park and didn’t even receive any sort of formal soccer training until he was well in to his teens and only accidentally got noticed by scouts when his older brother tried out for a professional US minor league soccer team.

Donovan has always been super autistic and uncomfortable about playing outside the States even though he looked good in the brief moments he played abroad, and would always ask to be loaned back to the US.

Pulisic was developed from a very young age and had formal training at a US soccer academy, and had plenty of time to adjust to playing abroad getting scouted by Dortmund at age 16. Both things neither Donovan or Dempsey had the benefit of.

>Both things neither Donovan or Dempsey had the benefit of.
Pretty sure Donovan was a teenager already in Bayer Leverkusen

keep him in dortmund for a few more years yeah?
