Why is the conservative/right wing part of the USA so fucking obsessed with war and in love with the idea of terrorising people? Do they simply see no value in human lives aside from their own?

too many war movies imo. To be completely serious, people just idolize what they see in the movie, and if every other movie is glorifying war and whatnot people will get stoked for it in real life.

The right still maintains vestiges of the Manifest Destiny mindset. Being as how they are mostly deeply religious (or pretend to be), this helps them rationalize aggressive military action that reenforces americas position as the preeminent nation on earth by making it divine sanction.

In case you forgot, Hillary was actually the candidate who pushed for a more aggressive foreign policy than Trump during the election.

In addition to this, our place as the worlds only superpower is blatant proof that the Lord favors us and will use us to bring civilization, democracy and jesus to all those miserable, poor foreigners who suffer without the Light of Jesus.

Not really. You just have a recency bias. From around the start of the 1900s until the 1970s the Democratic party was definitely had the more aggressive foreign policy in most cases.

The Republican Party had been the more aggressive party in the last 40 years, but then in the last election, Hillary was really more the war monger than Trump.

I just don't know what are processes in the heads of shithole apologists that make them think it's actually America and not places like North Korea instigating the war.

It's hard to watch from the sidelines when there are rockets flying over your head from said shithole country and it's only looking to get much worse. As Trump said, they are literally banging on the table for extortion money, which they have grown accustomed to and now Trump is not giving it to them.

A NK apologist said that America should freeze its ambitions in Asia for it to stop. Well first of all SK and Japan are okay with American presence, so Kim can shut his trap and play with his small ding dong in a corner. Second, we Baltics, also think Russia should stop its ambitions in the Baltic region and give Kaliningrad back to Germany. Does it mean we are sending rockets over Russia? Fuck no.

The military industrial complex has way to much influence and there's so much money in it. However its also a by product of being the worlds most powerful military force by a far margin, there's simply no consequences for US aggression.

But I don't think anyone will dispute that the US in the 20th century did far more good with its wars then harm. WWI, WWII and the Cold War were all great victories for the entire world not just the US.But nobody aside from the most hawkish conservatives will tell you the 2000s wars have done anything. No clear objectives, overly long conflicts and lack of public support have plagued the Iraq/Afghanistan wars.

Also the CIA has been a fucking cancer. They are responsible for so much of the animosity countries feel for the US.

US Army did a lot of good to wall in and secure the developed world. However things turned a little bit shitty with that Iraq war. We're still feeling a lot of heat from that.
