Good punk music

I like pic related a lot and I want more. I don't want anything more hardcore because that's about as hardcore as I can handle currently

Sup Forums just hates any British rock band that isn't The Smiths, Radiohead or Oasis. It's astounding how they spend all day talking about how great edgy meme rappers and shit pop like Grimes are, yet hate The Clash who are one of the all time greatest bands ever.

Anyway, good shout user, pic related is their best album. This is when they started to veer away from the typical punk sound and experiment with other sounds, but the punk rock feel is still very much there.

The Libertines are generally viewed as an "Indie band" but if you like that whole classic 70s British punk sound this is definitely worth a listen.

The Libertines are an indie band, but they were definitely influenced by punk. But tbqhwy, they remind me way more of the raggedy early New York groups, like Richard Hell & The Voidoids and Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, albeit with a very English, post-Smiths hipster poet vibe.

I wouldn't call them the best, but they are a great band. It's interesting how many punk bands have been bringing in Bruce Springsteen influences (them, late era Hot Water Music, Titus Andronicus, etc.)

Ceremony

I always wondered if the line "but the suburban scumbags, they don't care, just get fat and dye their hair" was supposed to refer to old people dying their hair from grey to it's young color or refer to suburban punks dying their hair green and blue and shit.

How come GG was a potbellied twig but his face shape was so aesthetic? Is it all in the bone structure?

>mu is one person
i personally hate the clash because their music is bad
it's mallpunk you fuckin loser

If you regard The Clash to be "mallpunk" and lump them in with bands like Green Day, Blink 182 and Sum 41 then maybe your musical opinions should be taken lightly.

One of the most seminal, influential rock bands of all time that changed music on both sides of the Atlantic, that pushed the boundaries of punk rock and incorporated all kinds of other styles into their sound, and you call them mallpunk. Fucking lol.

Orgcore I suppose. Checkered shirts and clean cut images.

green day blink and the rest are pop punk.
the clash is mallpunk, for kiddos that don't actually like punk to say "yeah i like punk" and proceed to mention some manufactured bandwagoners carefully curated by the british fashion and music press to co-opt a movement while spouting some third rate philosophy over literal pop music (so long as the record label said it was cool of course).

the fact that garbage influences other garbage bands only shows the scope of the damage a single successful garbage band can be. by saying you like the clash you're basically admitting that you don't like punk lol

>manufactured bandwagoners
underage pls go back to youtube comments

>muh buzzwords
buddy if you're implying the clash wasn't manufactured to ride the punk train then it's obvious you have 0 idea what you're talking about

Post the proof

>It's the Russian woodpecker

Not him but do the slightest research on, might recommend reading the section on the brits in "please kill me"

Additionally, the music itself isnt punk at all, it's pop with leather jackets. The fact is that the clash and the sex pistols were manufactured by malcom mclaren and co after he returned to england and failed to manage the new york dolls. He (and his wife vivienne westwood) wanted to create a clothing style to go with it and needed bands to market it with. This was the first step in the mainstream eating up and co-opting the style. Hardcore punk was largely a reaction to this.

Anybody that's read anything on the first wave of punk (and especially the first wave of british punk) knows this.

anyone like the slits?

Attached: qt.jpg (221x320, 16K)

Aye boy!

To the kids thinking they're hardcore cause they dye their hair. Pretending to be poor and apart of the scene but having somewhere to go back to when things got too rough.

nope

Raincoats and Bodysnatchers

>Raincoats
I love them

Attached: R-892907-1279831792.jpeg.jpg (600x587, 102K)

Rocket to Russia is better than self titled

I disagree. The First Four Years is the best Black Flag album next to Everything Went Black. My War is good, but not better than Damaged

GOAT!

Way to jack up the Dow Jones, user.

You're BOTH wrong.
The first album, both British and U.S. versions is by the numbers meat and potatoes punk. Give 'em Enough Rope is the BEST thing they ever did, and they should've just broken up after that.

Sons of Ishmeal actually played in my living room in the summer of 1987. I only have the first e.p. Good stuff.

I LOL'd

Only pre 1985 GG is worth listening to. Anything after that just plain sucks!

Make sure to get the U.S. version. It has Police Truck

Actually The Clash had nothing to do with Malcolm McClaren. They were manufactured by Bernard Rhodes. Still a contrived pose, though.
>CBS Promote The Clash
>It's not for revolution, but for cash
>Punk became a fashion like hippy used to be
>It aint got a thing to do with you or me

Give pic related a try. (It's all in Espanol, though)

this is the only good answer im suprised no one has said anything
