Has anybody here watched this? I know that some on Sup Forums dislike Sup Forums discussion here, but frankly that board is absolute garbage and worse than here if you can believe it.
Anyway, when does this get good? I have an incredibly low tolerance for anime outside of the greats, but I heard this was the absolute pinnacle of time travel exploration in any visual medium.
I'm at episode 9 and it's dragging, hard. I dislike mostly all if not everything about this show.
>Convoluted and boring introduction that drags >neckbeard sidekick is supposed to be 'cute' and 'vulnerable' instead of what he is, a 2d waifu fapping faggot >too much stupid fanservice and dumb dialogue >no real compelling characters >almost 80% of the show has taken place in one room so far >washed out colour pallette that is boring to look at and watch, despite the visual fidelity of the animation >half of the plot doesn't actually move the story forward
Am I just being a faggot? Or does this show really become amazing? It's near 9/10 rated on IMDB for a reason I guess.
Logan Allen
You are close to the part where it gets interesting. All that buildup will be rewarded. Just continue.
Easton Cooper
okabe carries this show on his back alone
Colton Brooks
...
Ryder Harris
Literally Groundhog Day but shit
Brody Flores
You fucked up by not picking up the VN.
Samuel Cooper
>reading
Jace Edwards
I watched half-way through the first episode.
Suddenly some crossdressing faggot shows up and prances around with no actual relation to the plot. Apparently the Japanese and weebs get off on the idea of girly men pretending to be uguu kawaii girls to satiate their closeted gay impulses. That's considered normal "fanservice" now.
Been a while since I dropped a series that fast.
Henry Lopez
Real time travel kino right here lads
Evan Myers
Wait till episode 14 and make ur final decision, if I remember that's when I started loving it.
Mason Jenkins
I played the VN instead of watching it. The story gets good, but yeah it does take a while. I feel like the extreme exposition is necessary.
Dylan Smith
wrong board retarded weebshit
James Rogers
The first half is basically a setup for all the crazy stuff that will commence in the second, but yeah, it's real fucking slow. I watched the whole thing first time without any problems, but on rewatching the 1st half really dragged on to the point that I dropped it.
As for your complaints, half of them are just anime-related in general.
Kayden Smith
It never gets good.
>but I heard this was the absolute pinnacle of time travel exploration in any visual medium lol
>playing porn games
Nicholas Morales
the neckbeard stops being important later, and yeah, as others have said once the plot kicks in it gets pretty good.
Anyone know how the Steins;gate 0 VN compares? Just as good or worse?
Jack Scott
>that episode where it's revealed they're all Nazi scientists captured by the allies Cool twist, but why weren't they Japanese scientists?
Carson Roberts
Dr Peper is fuckin shit
Ian Mitchell
It's overrated and not even close to the best time travel story in anime, let alone other visual mediums.
If you have low tolerance for anime bullshit but want to watch good and 2deep4u anime, watch Death Note, Haruhi, Evangelion or Madoka.
If you just want a really complex time travel plot with grounded rules and shit, read Homestuck or play a time travel-based video game like Radiant Historia or even Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. I find that Tv shows and movies, animated or not, never manage to go in-depth enough because it's so much easier to just go "lol time travel".
Luis Hughes
whoa you're stunningly pleb
Kevin Scott
Currently going through Steins;Gate 0. I've gotten half of the endings so far. I'm enjoying it a lot but it is quite different from the original. It's worth a try if you liked Steins;Gate but it's not as good as it.
Anthony Clark
Steins;Gate is garbage and one of the most mediocre anime I've seen to date. If you want a title that actually does a cool spin on time traveling and does it far better than S;G, watch Noein.
Logan King
>read Homestuck This is absolutely terrible advice. Never under any circumstances read that shit.
William Hall
The core story is pretty enjoyable but you can sort of tell it's a visual novel to begin with. Some sequences feel kinda date-sim like.
also theres a plot hole with how he reached the rewind machine thingy without getting stopped by the armed men everytime that bothered me a lot
Daniel Adams
>porn games It's not, you colossal faggot
Justin Perez
I really liked Steins;Gate take on time travel, and I fucking hate always hate time travel
Easton Turner
trash
William Hernandez
As far as I recall the show sucked for about 10 episodes, then became good for the rest of the series (excluding the final episode)
Justin Jackson
It gets better keep watching. You don't have anything else do anyway fag.
Ryan Bailey
I don't know if it's ever actually said outright, but I just assumed it was because of attractor field theory as he's not supposed to die until 2025
Benjamin Reyes
there is something big incoming. dunno what episode but it comes. then it drags on.
i did abort it at some point. the mad scientist faggot is too anying too.
in my opinion extremly overrated. good thing is the mood and washed bright colors. you can almost feel the japan summer heat. too bad it isnt my cup of tea because i wanted to like it.
