Maybe you are better informed by the great majority of Sanders supporters but the majority of them (at least those online) didn't even understand Sanders platform or had enough information to make up their minds.
Many supported him to be part of the "revolution", many because they really believe there was any feasibility on his discourse of reducing student debt and healthcare cost and many did because the other many did.
People should support Trump because of the following well documented policies:
1) America comes first in every negotiation, in every deal and in every treaty. Any treaty that is detrimental to America should be renegotiated or simply reneged assuming the consequence of leaving the table is less acute than the ones of staying on the table.
2) America safety comes before politically correctness. As our friendly merchants so aptly demonstrated, as soon as they stopped having any concern at all to the public opinion and took the measures to defend their country (built the wall, profiling in the borders and airports, attacking with full prejudice any threat before they get too big) terrorism in their soil all but ended.
These are not empty promises, they are even very easy to implement, much easier than "free education and healthcare" at least.
