Seer was better
I think it's really good.
There's a significant minority in Sup Forums that hates it, probably because the melon 10/10'd it.
Should have posted in the last thread then faggot
No its not
nice taste user
imo
thanks man
Yucky opinions
Yeah pretty much
>I can't let it go
hi
swans are edgy tryhard dogshit
So is your favourite band asslicker
honestly My Father... is still my fave new era Swans album
Swans is the best band of the decade
Honestly this. The only criticisms I ever see of it are the tired "same riff for 15 minutes" bullshit
We hear this all the time.
Tell us what exactly you don't like about the music instead.
SHOULDVE FUCKING POSTED IN THE LAST LAST THREAD YOU FUCKING DIRTY HETSHIT
I DONT GET IT I WASNT IN THE LAST THREAD
I CANT STAND THIS RELATIONSHIP ANYMORE ROBERT, IM BREAKING UP WITH YOU
jarboe was the best thing to happen to swans
Shit opinion
someone needs to make divineposting a thing
Hm. It's not a their best album, but it's up there.
Screenshot, A little god in my hands, bring the sun, she loves us, and oxygen are absolute bangers.
putting aside the 10/10 meme, I can see why people love this album. It could of been their first swans albums and everybody has their one reason.
But people shouldn't compare the seer, the glowing man and my father will guide me a rope to the sky to this album, because it completely different.
Each album is unique on its own and that's why I really can't let go of this band. I been listening to this band for over 2 years now and other bands doesn't have the same feeling as swans.
Tell me anons, why hate this band? Is it cool to hate on it because needledrop gives each album a high rating? Or Is it because it's Sup Forumscore.
Yes to both
that's not from this decade though
Huh?
so much this. I don't know why no one loves this as much as I do.
Is the album that got me into swans, if that help, TBK is still the GOAT for me
It's a great album, but I hate when people say this album is just another angels of light album
which decade do you think we're in
it was released in 2010
This has nothing to do with the thread, but: what a good band swans is. Imma be honest with you, I've been digging into music actively since about a year or so ago. I guess I've listened to ~250 albums in that period (just to give you a perspective, I don't really think it matters), and swans have some of the most emotion-driving albums I've heard this far
>2010
that's the last year of the 00's decade
you don't actually believe this and are just saying it because you know it will rustle jimmies
cannot believe I'm taking this bait

The knee-jerk reaction to the question when do decades begin would be, by your example, 1920 to 1929. However, it's not that simple; the reason is that the calendar started on 1, not zero. So in order for the 20's to be from '20 to 29, a decade somewhere before that would have to have only 9 years.
When talking about historical time, the first year of CE (or AD) on the Gregorian calendar is 1/1/1 CE. The day before was 12/31/1 BCE. There was no year zero. The last day of the first year CE would be 12/31/1.
Count 10 years, and the first decade ended on 12/31/10 CE. Extrapolate from the first decade 191 more times and you'll get your answer; the 20's actually started in 1921 on January 1 and ended on 12/31/1930.
Same goes for centuries and millennia, just in 100- and 1,000-year increments instead of 10-year increments.
The US Naval Observatory has an article more specific about how this works
Yeah we know there was no year zero you fucking moron, it's just that nobody except those special few with crippling autism actually thinks that the 20's began in 1921.
Excellent bait, you elicited a response, now fuck off
Close. Both The Seer and To Be Kind are two excellent albums, but The Seer wins by an inch because of how cohesive it is and how cathartic and phenomenal the 2nd disc is.
Acceptable choice. This is like something This Heat would make in the context of 2010s indie.
this is the best album from new swans
Best album ITT but not even Holter's best
Glowing Man > Seer > My Father > To Be Kind
post your top 5 songs from new swans
1. Cloud Of Forgetting
2. Kirsten Supine
3. Finally, Peace
4. A Piece Of The Sky
5. Inside Madeline
The Seer>TBK
I don't think thats a bullshit criticism... you can't honestly see why someone would find it boring?
1. Cloud of forgetting
2. A piece of the sky
3.the seer / bring the sun / Toussaint L'ouverture
4. Screenshot
5. She loves us!
Cloud of forgetting got me into swans. It's a beautiful masterpiece that made me cry. I kept listening the song over and over and I said "fuck it, I'll try their discography" ever since then Ive been mega fan boy of swans.
*Blocks your path*
Sorry you only have two good songs
1. To Be Kind
2. Screen Shot
3. The Knot
4. Avatar
5. Kirsten Supine
Your opinion is wrong
Literally the worst album of new era Swans
the slow, crawling progression is a huge part of the appeal for people that enjoy the album. If you aren't into that, its whatever. But these Swans threads just get shit on recently, and TBK seems especially to garner this weird hatred cause of the Fantano review.
good job im triggered
I really love To Be Kind, but this album is straight up beautiful and transcends some of the transcendent moments on To Be Kind. Bring The Sun is really the peak of To Be Kind, but The Glowing Man is consistent all the way through and When Will I Return is just fucking bone-chilling, because it's a real encounter his wife experienced.
shiniest turd is still a turd
This.
To Be Kind is probably the only album that Fantano gave a 10 that no pleb could sit through. Seriously, most young people wouldn't even be able to sit through Screenshot because if some nigger doesn't say "aye" or "gucci gang" every 5 seconds they lose interest. Most old people wouldn't sit through it either.
>The Knot
>The Seer
>Cloud of Forgetting
>The Apostate
>The Man Who Refused To Be Unhappy
Music is just a big turd so I don't see your point
good picks
That's not even the best Julia Holter album.
nope.avi
More like bad album art chart
this board is fucking shit lmao
agree
> that one user that shills "This Heat" every time the obviously, nakedly superior Women comes up
miss me with this shit
Don't look!
Fuck off rym-asslicker
Not even the best folk album
his new one is better
That's not The Seer silly
These guys get it
Honourable, apparently this is Body Lovers Two, can't wait for Three
Also super underrated albums
Smelly opinion
>A Piece of the Sky
>The Apostate
>A Little God in my Hands
>Jim
>The Glowing Man
Honestly so hard to choose though
(c)Rap
I’ll agree that they’re tryhard as fuck, and Gira’s probably the edgiest guy in the industry. But Swans are still great.
Based.
1. Apostate
2. The Glowing Man
3. Bring The Sun/Toussaint L’Ouverture
4. To Be Kind
5. Just A Little Boy
