ETIQUETTE - Include correct format (artist / band, title of release, year of release, cover art, the file type (v0, 320 mp3, FLAC, etc), short description, YouTube sample, link) - Send thanks if you have downloaded something to let them know they did a good thing - Avoid sharing / requesting things that are already on the archive - Soulseek / rutracker are your friends, too - just don't argue in this thread about it - No samples on YouTube, Soundcloud? Drag'n'drop any mp3 on clyp.it
REQUESTS >I have a request! Did I... - Check the archive for a live link before requesting? - Share something first? - Google "blogspot + artist name + album name"
ARCHIVE >"I don't know how to find what I'm looking for in the archive" - Go here: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/ - When searching, limit your search to links only, like so: "desired album mega|zippyshare|mediafire" - Make sure you've typed "zippyshare" and not "zippy", or else Zippyshare links will not be found.
Hey, serious question-- Why have sharethreads been so weak for the last few months?
They've always been a pretty steady feature to this board, usually maxing out. Sometime around the end of 2017 i started noticing them missing, them being pruned with only a few posts...
Alex Calder - self-titled (2017) >indie rock, former Mac deMarco bandmate in Makeout Videotape, same kind of style but sadder and more experimental For those who don't know, the release of this album has been canceled last year because of sexual assault allegations against Alex. You can think whatever you want of that, I don't care, but the music is good so I want to share it mega.nz/#F!kpUiAQSZ!Zm_DjnF2LPzuPbCwj089LQ youtube.com/watch?v=72mI1wLM3lE
big recommend. you forgot to mention >nick cave's chosen strings guy

the problem with sharethreads have always been that they are only as strong as the people who post in them. this isn't bleep or kpop general where you can fill thread after thread with pretending to be british or jerking off to kpop stars, if people aren't sharing the threads aren't good, it's that simple. at some point people started treating sharethreads like the other generals and a logical consequence of this is tons of threads full of nothing or reposted shares. i personally havne't noticed that threads have gotten any worse this year, it's been the same varying quality we have seen since 2016-2018.
now why there are fewer people who are willing to dump lets say 30+ albums they enjoy or want to do a label dump or want to share their findings after doing a deep dive into a genre and bringing back what gems they find i don't know.
some blamed requests. some blamed the pasta. but i have no idea.
>now why there are fewer people who are willing to dump lets say 30+ albums they enjoy or want to do a label dump or want to share their findings after doing a deep dive into a genre and bringing back what gems they find i don't know. this is the biggest issue. almost nobody is around anymore who will just dump a whole bunch of shares. and then the people who only have a few albums to share don't bother posting because they don't want to post their albums in a thread that's just going to die in a few hours. especially when people are going to complain about reposts. you and this guy fh-fh and maybe a couple other posters are the only ones even keeping these threads alive even a little bit.

How often do users get banned from Mega? And do IP bans occur?
Jeremiah Allen
Requesting "Freak City Soundtrack" by Material Issue, "Get The Knack" by the Knack, and the "Knicks Remix EP" by Freddie Gibbs and Madlib (there's a link in the archive for the last two, but they're dead).
Jace Hernandez
Requesting Cult America by Greyhaven. I've shared a few things in here but forgot to request.

thanks for this and the hiero. My mom had one of those starbucks-type reissues of Desmond in the car and it was actually great but the few Desmond shares I've found weren't the same style/era or something, so hopefully this will work for me.
yes, all this. but also, a lot of the sharethreads that get started by an OP thinking they will magically catch on even though they have no shares aren't dying before bump limit because they get modded like says, it's because there's so little activity they hit page ten and die.
never heard of that happening but I'm sure it must happen. My account's probably 3 years old now and everything on it is violating copyright, although I rename the zips before I upload. It was my understanding that mega was owned by the chinese now, so I don't think they enforce US copyright? although the Sup Forumscore mega did just get taken down after like ten years but of course someone instantly produced a new link, which was cool

also that anons got shy of posting any known music because other anons ridicule like, the only stuff you can share is obscure or historically interesting also, a little guide on how to share without getting busted might be appreciated (i.e. obvious stuff like throwaway email address and not using exact file names)
requesting preoccupations new material and lucy dacus historian

over the years i've shared maybe 3 or 4 hundred records, probably 75% of those links are still working. i've never been fully banned or had an account closed. in my experience if they don't like the traffic on a link they'll just quietly remove it. the only exception was on a U2 record i shared, for which i got an official notice of stern talking to and they borked the link so i couldn't even download it myself. had to delete it, lol. so don't you be fukkin with bono, lads, the little fella got him some eagle eyed lawyers.
I'm uploading maudlin of the Well's discography in FLAC, including the alternate ending to Marathon from when Choirs of the Eye was still being made under maudlin's name. If anyone has the Welcome to the NHK OST it would be nice if you shared.
Alias Conrad Coldwood - OFF (by Mortis Ghost) Official Soundtrack >VGM, Ambient, Experimental, Drone >Probably the "Soundtracks For The Blind" of videogame OSTs, also contains the only good electro-swing song ever
Dude, it's electronic music from the early 60s, what did you except? Tape manipulations of anime girls talking to a malfunctioning square wave generator?
