Artists are only creative for 10 years, live yours to the fullest

>Artists are only creative for 10 years, live yours to the fullest.

It applies to Burton and Tarantino

RIP Martin Brest 1984-1994

>Miyazaki has been making films for 30+ years

What did he mean by this?

Miyazaki's peak was late-90s to early-00s.

Anyone who disagrees is trying too hard.

>cartoons
>film
pick one

I think the wind rises is the best written one desu

Miyazaki only makes kinos you contrarian faggot.

>10 years
>Castle of Cagliostro - 1979
>Laputa: Castle in the Sky - 1986

It checks out

Too bad that movie had 3 good bits strung together with padded shite.

i've been binging the ghibli movies and the feels are real

>"WHAT'S WRONG WITH FALLING IN LOVE WITH A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL!?"

Is Miyazaki /tv's guy/?

Fuck this is one of my favorite movies. What a genius.

I really, really liked The Wind Rises. It took me awhile to understand what it was going for, but it hit me and I ended up wanting to see it again.

I almost fell asleep in Spirited Away, and outside of Ponyo I've liked the Ghibli movies I've seen so far.
>Kiki's Delivery Service
>Castle in the Sky
>From Up on Poppy Hill (nearly cried in this one)
>The Wind Rises
>Howl's Moving Castle (a bit slow, but it was good)
I want to see When Marnie Was There. Not sure where to watch it. The DVD's are expensive and all the rental places around me don't have it.

Only Yesterday is objectively the best Ghibli movie

the wind rises is one of his best, you mong

If you cried at From Up on Poppy Hill, you HAVE to watch Only Yesterday and Whisper of the Heart.

eh
i liked whisper of the heart more
still top 5

I just watched My Neighbour Totoro for the first time, and god damn that movie is comfy, Totoro was hardly in it though, amazing that he became such an icon from such small appearances.

>tales of princess kaguya has a 100% on RT

really makes me think

Takahata > Miyazaki

Princess kaguya is pure undistilled K-I-N-O

Thanks user, I'll look into those.

Anyone notice how good the towns/cities are in the movies? Like they look like top tier places to live.

Ocean Waves has some great small urban japan scenery too, and is tonally similar to those as well

I heard a rumour Miyazaki came out of retirement recently. Is this due to Trump, like his last retirement cancellation was due to Bush? If so, I hope he's making the sequel to porch rosso then.

>late 90s to early 00s

his peak was conan to porco rosso
1978-1992

it helps to know what you're talking about

Yes it's true. He's doing a movie on a little catepilar like creature.

it seems more likely that his coming out of retirement was due to his failure to master CGI animation for a short film than anything else.

That sucks old porco fighting in the spanish civil war is kino to my ears.
