Non meme answer: favourable geographic position. Nearby rivers and oceans made trade easy (Schelde, Maas, Rhine, North Sea, Mediterranean)
*Galicia's borders
It should extend to Central Italy too, you know Florence, the capital of the Renaissance and Rome for obvious reasons.
shut up terrone
THEre's pretty much nothing between Florence and Rome despite being a flat region.
But both of those suffered greatly from the deindustrialization of the UK and are today rather unimportant economically. At least the Po basin has industry.
There also services, UK economy is all about services and laundering money.
Literally population density and relatively high development. For example, the reason why there's so little of France in that banana is because there's relatively little between Paris and the north/Strassbourg in terms of densely populated cities, while in England and the Netherlands everyone's stacked on top of eachother like ants.
The Golden Banana is also becoming a meme, encompassing that same highly populated and developed part of Northern Italy, the cities along France's Mediterranean coast and Catalonia (the most economically developed part of Spain). I'm half expecting "analysts" to link the two together into the Great Snake of Europe or some shit.
...
I had the same exact thought.
It only shows that the core of Europe isnin the Inner6+Spain though, it kinda loses its meaning. The guy that came up with the idea of the blue banana actually wanted to just criticize the excessive centralization on Paris.
Merovingian vs.
Carolingian
Forgot to quote
>I'm half expecting "analysts" to link the two together into the Great Snake of Europe or some shit.

>No Czech Republic, but Slovakia
>Belgium ahead of Poland
My brain hurts.
Why is Elsass-Lothringen blue? Was it the German who did that?
Superior Celto-Germanic genes.
Waiting for Galiza, Northern Portugal and Ireland to become the next big thing then.
