Valencian is a glotonym for the language dialects natively used in the Valencian Land, Catalonia, Balearic Islands, Andorra, Rousillon (France), Franja (Aragon) . L'Alguer (Italy) and Carxe (Murcia). We have our own language academy even thought the language is used. Worldwide is classified as a variety of it.
It's not as simple as "an accent". Verb conjugation changes a bit. Some vocabulary changes. Accent difference is the HUGE one. But even thought, we can understand each other and our written standarts are 98% the same.
