Drafts mean shit except in the NBA and the NBA has a lottery for the first pick. The MLB draft means nothing as players develop in minor leagues before they go to the majors, if they ever get called at all. The top pick in the NFL means nothing as teams have 53 player rosters and one player won't make a huge difference. First rounders are also typically chosen to suit needs, not pick the best player

there are very serious financial incentives to win. The reason we need this system is because our sports are very complex, and with the exception of maybe baseball it would be pay to win. these arent 1-0 rng sports. We use drafts to keep it competitive and because NA is large and full of shitholes.nobody would want to play in a lot of markets. Lastly our leagues are way to ahead of the competition to have regulation and promotion anyway.
