Why is Ghost so hung up on this $25,000 trading rule. Anyone with less than $25,000 savings probably shouldn't be gambling their money away on the stock market.
Seems pretty reasonable I.M.O.

>Anyone with less than $25,000 savings probably shouldn't be gambling their money away on the stock market Well those people did it just before 1929
Evan Ward
Because some normal guy can't just put $2,000 of his saving into an etrade account and go wild with that. It disadvantages the middle and lower-middle classes and is unneeded regulation.
Better post show in at ogcapitalistarmy on tinychat

Sure some normal guy with a healthy savings should absolutely be able to invest in the stock market.
Some normal guy with only $2,000 should not be investing that in the stock market. It will just lead to another broke guy on social services. People with that little money don't know how to be responsible with it.
Any decent lower-middle class guys should be able to save that at a fairly young age (

You may not know this, but it's next to impossible to lose all your money in the stock market. It's not like gambling where once you give that money away it's gone forever. If you put money in stocks, it could go up or down in value $50-100 depending on what the market is feeling like. I don't see why some guy that makes a modest salary can't take part in that system.

Try explaining that to people that used to own "Old GM" stock in 2008.
Which is exactly what people with $2000 to their name will do.
Plus the $25K is only a restriction on day trading, not long term investment.
Samuel Edwards
>Milky-lickers.

Bullshit everyone that only wants to put $2000 in an etrade account will buy only one stock. You seem to have an elitist attitude that everyone in the lower class is a moron.
