>subtle

...

what does that mean?

it means we post photos depicting subtle imagery in films

Snyder is about as subtle as a brick in the small of the back.

...

Post the one where Superbald threw Batfaggot through the window and it made a white whale like Moby Dick. That was so subtle it blew my fucking balls off.

>cocksucking scene in Brown Bunny

So what subtle imagery was that trying to convey? The innate futility of anarco-capitalism?

close, but not quite

>search for subtle cinematography
>the top results were lost in translation

>dude, it's a jesus! lmao

...

thanks for reminding me how much I hate this pile of garbage

films full of it
some of it actually changes the interpretation of the film

Fuck that guy, he ruined The Nightly Show.

Oh shit, how did I never see that?
Man, I gotta see this film again

I DONT QUITE GET IT YET

That was truly the best shot in the movie.
We watched Gran Torino in a film class and there was just me and one other guy who noticed this.

what's the symbolism here?

Can we talk about symbolism in films?

In this sense, it's fine. Animals are a big deal in Blade Runner, as most are dead and most people own fakes. Batty holding the dove is interesting because it shows a machine having parallel interests to the humans. That's his character. It's not symbolism, more that's a natural character reaction.

Same here. Clark is a church-going guy. He was raised that way. That's his character. He is heavily influenced by Christian values. This shot, albeit cheesy and obvious, still fits.

This is the problem I have. You make her look like a fetus to symbolize her "rebirth." But it's so forceful to have the image shot like that, and it's not like the character is expressing herself in any way, it's just a cheap, unreal symbol to make the director and whoever "got it" feel clever.

Agree/Disagree?

Gattaca is fucking sci-fi kino, even the score is on point

Bravo, Zack. Bravo.

It means Roy wanted to be a free bird like the Lynyrd Skynyrd song.

looks like a confessional I would say

The screen door looks like the screen of a confessional.

Subtle confession booth for the first time he really opened up about killing a gook.

...

gets way better when you realize the brother deliberately loses the swimming races

he has a pool in his house ...

Does anything else suggest this?

Dem cigarette butts.

woah

...

why the massive green filter

>that moment Ethan Hawke's shuttle leaves the atmosphere
>next scene Jude Law burns himself in the incinerator, like debris entering the atmosphere
youtube.com/watch?v=ldkSV0gElxg

although I always imagine his heart suddenly stopping once he leaves orbit, but I'm just being a pessimist

...

Maybe it was too subtle

She shouldn't be smoking, she's pregnant.

antons reaction to vincents jealousy about the heights
the dynamics of swimming out and then swimming back with an "unconscious" genetically enhanced brother?
and not ratting him out to the chief cop a few other lines
but a fun drinking game is having a shot every time someone helps vincent/jerome youll be wasted by the end of the film

it adds to the green/gold aesthetic of the movie

Where did that slut get one of the dragonballd?

Was it a big death star?

For Luuuke.

...

I never understood this one frankly.

what did he mean by this?

Sneed rhymes with feed and seed
Chuck rhymes with fuck and suck

So "Chuck's Fuck & Suck".

If you replace sneed with chuck and make the whole thing rhyme it would say

Chuck's Fuck & Suck

Snyder's symbolism is about as subtle as a nuclear bomb

I want to fuck GNR

what the fuck is this about?

...

Nice jacket. What movie is this from?

Wow really made me think.

>he hasn't seen Drive

Never heard of it. Did it just come out?

you forgot the nail in batty's palm

those trips really made me think

you ever hear the story about the scorpion and the frog?

...

memetic poetry

woah, totally never noticed this! He truly is a genius, that Silk Spectre = Jesus makes total sense!

...

where did the woman go?
what did rick alverson mean by this?

the last supper is never subtle, ever

really makes your brain do brain stuff

>you're a bigger guy

...

...

...

>the skill and care of the craftsmen representative gets to me subtly on every viewing.

how did that cgi manage to hold up so well in today's era?
