basketball. you have to be born 7 feet tall which is the hardest, then actually be good enough to be a professional athlete

Being white. You'll never do that no matter how hard you try, OP.

Probably basketball because the team sizes are so small and you need to be born in like the 99.5th percentile or higher for height.

and you have to survive the ghetto, before and beyond

Being born tall isn't hard. You're just born tall.

I mean like in terms of skill

if its so easy then why does only 0.00001 percent of people do it?

probably baseball just by the volume of batting practice you have to take to get your timing down. it also requires tons of experience to get a good plate approach in reading pitchers, sitting on different pitches, then you also need speed training and strength training, and being able to read balls to take a good angle on it, read the field to know who to go to and where to be on each play, and be able to throw the ball on a fucking dime. and by elite players who can do all of this, I mean players like Ichiro who can bat over .300 every season of his career.youtube.com/watch?v=tpkgbr7QwK8

yes...you also have to survive growing up around real hood niggas and the crab mentality inherent in the black community

You're right. I should have asked which one is harder to master in terms of skill. I mean like a sport where you don't dominate just because you have the right physical attributes.

Boxing.

Came to post this

baseball, not only because of how difficult it is to condition your arm to throw that far, or your eyes to recognize minute differences in pitching stances and the release of a ball, there's also the predicament of not knowing if you're going to be good enough until you're in your mid 20s and that college scholarship is long gone.

Tennis

Football due to the amount of people that play it.

Basketball is genetic lottery luck. Hard to become elite if you're sub 6'3

American Football is mostly genetic lottery luck apart from Quarterback which is the single hardest position in sports.

Any non-team sport is probably the hardest because a team can't help you look better, If someone said you're a top 5 center in the NBA or top 5 centre back in the world you'd be considered elite, but if someone said that guy has a top 5 Serve in Tennis he'd probably be like number 30 in the world rankings. Boxing requires a lot of hard work plus genetic lottery. MMA requires you to be shit at boxing so you look for something else. MMA is probably the easiest to be elite in by a fucking mile. Golf is just sheer talent.

Then footy. because the more people play it, the harder it is to rise to the top. if 10 people played it it would be easy, but billions do so its the hardest

This.
The talent in boxing right now is ridiculous and they all start at 12 or earlier

athletics, like decathlon

Just be a 6'9 skeleton and learn how to serve and volley.
Presto you're a millionaire

>quarterback position is hard because noone can help you and its entirely skill based.

>what is boxing or individual sports like wrestling and grappling.

Golf is a hobby as much as dart throwing.

Basketball in the US. Have to be insanely athletic and skilled. Soccer everywhere else, since everyone plays it

Hardwork? Gymnastics easy
Naturally born for it? nba easy
Doesn't need hard work or good genetics? soccer

Swimming.

Non American football.

Is decathlon a sport?

>What's the hardest sport to become elite in?

Professional cycling.

Not only is it the world's toughest sport, getting to the 'elite' level where you are not only on a fucking team, but your team is invited to the Tour de France and you happen to be selected on your team's entry...

Yeah, good luck.

If you aren't a Euro-pro by 18 the chances of you making it anywhere are slim to none.

Soccer, boxing or golf

basketball easily

you clearly have never played a round of golf and seen pro golfers in real life

I don't think you know anything about cycling.

I dont think YOU know anything about cycling. Its probably one of the most physically demanding sports ever created. And i say this hating cyclists.

Baseball. Hitting a fastball is one of the most difficult things for a human to do. Not only that, the batter has to be able to pick up if the pitch coming to them is one of a dozen different pitches, and react in the small window of time they have to hit that pitch. And many times they end up hitting the ball insanely far. To reach an elite level, you have to start at an early age, before 10, and play basically non-stop till you make the majors. Injuries are incredibly common due to the amount of practice that has to be done, repetition type injuries specifically, with your arms. My brother plays for a D1 school, and is currently getting draft letters from pro teams. He has to work out every single day he isn't playing baseball, and has been playing year round since he was 10. Even when you make it "pro" you're still shit compared to the Major leagues. You have to make your way up through multiple levels in the pros just to get to the actual Majors. And even then, you still might be shit compared to some of the elite players in the MLB.

I'll have to agree that it's very difficult. Made even more difficult by the cheaters bringing the sport to levels that are physically impossible without cheating. Still don't think it's the hardest though

Considering elite soccer players need to be picked up by a club by like the age of fucking 10 or they have no shot I’d go with that

Good basketball and baseball players can meme their way through shitty high school and college ranks and become #1 picks

>he's never raced

Even at the most basic Cat 5 level, you'll quickly find out how hard it is.

formula 1 driver, mainly due to the high barrier to entry

>see chart
>now make it competitive against others
>now try to make it to the 'elite' of your sport

Fuck off, go eat a monkey with AIDS

Boxing or football soccer, since people from all races, sizes and religions play it so you have more competition

I didn't say it wasn't hard. The Tour de France is one of the craziest athletic events in the world

>I didn't say it wasn't hard. The Tour de France is one of the craziest athletic events in the world

Ok, good, now follow along:
From OP:
>What's the hardest sport to become elite in?

From response:
>Professional cycling.
>Not only is it the world's toughest sport, getting to the 'elite' level where you are not only on a fucking team, but your team is invited to the Tour de France and you happen to be selected on your team's entry...
>Yeah, good luck.
>If you aren't a Euro-pro by 18 the chances of you making it anywhere are slim to none.

Figure it out.

There are elite-level players everywhere in a lot of sports, especially Basketball and Football/Soccer. Many of these top level talent never get past amateur level because they aren't networked or connected. In cycling you earn your way to the top of your national cycling federation by racing... it's neigh impossible to be 'not known' if you are racing, there's a national registry of every racer, every result, etc:. So you make it to the top. Networking isn't an issue because it's all about talent, period. You're good? You might make pro. Maybe.

Then, see above.

Weightlifting. Snatch is fcuking difficult to master and it never really gets easier. This is from Olympic players.

@79127362
That gotta be a joke or bait. And not gonna give a (You) either

Unironically Football, you have to play since you're a toddler to even have a chance to do it professionally, imagine being elite at it.

That's a shitty metric, you dumb amerifat. By that logic, masturbating is more physically demanding than many sports.

Why is skiing so physically demanding?

he's right. imagine trying to hit something that's traveling at 90 miles per hour and drops directly into the dirt at the very, very last millisecond.

It's that meme cross country shit where you are just trudging over miles of flat land on skis. It's super exhausting.

It maybe is.

You masturbate for 5 hours straight?

JACKING OFF SIBERIAN DOGS is the hardest sport to get elite at.

>You masturbate for 5 hours straight?

You masturbate for 5 hours gay?

Name one thing that's wrong about what I said

Are we talking soccer football or American football?

how tf are basketball or hockey less demanding than boxing? And by such a margin?

AMA national motocross

unrivaled physically, mentally, and mechanically.
(this is not debatable)

because you're getting punched in the fucking face by a guy who could knock out a thoroughbred on an off day.

It's harder to become the next elite pornstar than it is to be the next Tom Brady or Lebron James

>baseball
HAHAHAHHAHA

Baseball is very difficult

Yeah, even in the past you either needed above average height or to be a godlike PG/SG (even then, you're looking at a minimum 6'0").

Swimming.

unronically sprinting

every kid that has ever lived has sprinted. you literally have to be the best of 7 billion people to be paid a ton
