Most illegal immigrants from Mexico don't even know Spanish that well though. So you can't make someone who is ignorant in Spanish "learn the language" like it's a piece of cake. It really isn't, but it's also not like the kids only speak Spanish. Most 2nd generation Mexicans I know speak both English & Spanish, while others just speak English and understand Spanish (but don't speak it). Most immigrants also stick to their own kind because going to a different country is a huge culture shock. Chinese stick with Chinese, Arabs with Arabs, Indians with Indians, and Mexicans with Mexicans. Why? Most-likely it's easier to establish yourself in a foreign nation when you can have the safety net of being around your people. It works to establish yourself in the new nation, but it also hurts progress. A lot of these people tend to afraid to move forward because it's too risky and would rather live their lives comfortably instead of "moving up". Just cuz of fear.
