Film contains series of events in an interrelated sequence which come to a conclusion

My brother tried to convince me that Cloud Atlas was kino because it had a nonlinear narrative. It can work but you really have to care about the characters and plot. I only remember the chinky grill and I completely forget the story. If the movie doesn't hook you you're end up apathetic and wondering why they even bothered to do it in the first place.

Has there ever been a film where they didn't assume our code of physics was applicable? Some kinda interdenominational kino? And I'm not just talking about meme laws like gravity. I mean the very foundation of our universe. We need it gone. Maybe it can only be done in animation.
