Why was Harry Crane such an underused and underappreciated character
This board is full of Petefags. Yes Pete was a very well written character but why is based Crane always ignored
Why won't there ever be a spinoff series starring a slightly older and sleazier Harry Crane in 1970s Hollywood
Brayden Cox
He was a piece of shit. Him and pete had an opposite arc.
Nicholas Robinson
>He was a piece of shit.
But that's one of the reasons he was such a great character. And the actor portrayed his sleaziness really well.
You can imagine him becoming a creepy Hollywood sleazebag in the 70s
Nathan Diaz
Because he's just unremarkable in almost every way.
Nathaniel Ortiz
Would you Sup Forums?
Connor Kelly
No
Jason Moore
OP's pissed because he hasn't found a hooker that takes travellers cheques.
Ethan Hernandez
I always confuse him with the guy from Archer they have the same face and character.
Ian Sanchez
He's just that fucking guy who gets right under your skin with everything he says/does, and you can't even put your finger on why you hate him so much.
It's something to do with the way that he's constantly demanding/expecting praise, wanting to be treated more "special" than he really is, but Peggy and Pete do similar things and it isn't quite as annoying. He's the kind of guy ho ALWAYS feels like he's being slighted or disrespected, but he's too much of a pussy to stand up for himself past a passive-aggressive comment or complaint here and there. Fuck Harry Crane
Hunter Rodriguez
Harry is slowly corrupted into a total asshat over the course of the show.
Adrian Hernandez
Don't everyone agree that Ken and pirate Ken was the only good human being?
Owen Martin
Maybe he was the kind of guy who has no internal moral compass, when there is social liberalization and he rises in power there is simply nothing left that inhibits him acting like an asshole, just my idea anyway
Jordan Green
You mean ken and Punished Ken?
And yeah, I can't really recall a time when Ken actively fucked someone over
Dominic Young
Pete turned out to be a pretty good guy once he stopped trying so hard.
Jordan Carter
No one else enjoyed the scene where he btfo Joan in front of the partners for her whoring ways?
Xavier Cruz
But he was just mad because nobody wanted him to be a partner.
Landon Barnes
That doesn't make any of what he said untrue
Adrian Lewis
Harry was so fucking based
>white man in Hollywood beating the jews at their own game
Joshua Edwards
Crane wasn't a whiny little faggot with psycho-emotional problems like everyone on this board so everyone hates him.
Jackson Nguyen
But the thing is that's justifiably so. His job is arguably more important. He's the guy who actually has all the REAL connections, he's the guy who brought the most when they started their own company. Joan sucked a cock and got made partner, Harry worked his ass off for over a decade and essentially got fucked over and then got out of the ad game right when the 70's were starting and the industry imploded.
Angel Morales
The best moment was when he hit on Don's toothy wife and got SHOT DOWN
Josiah Diaz
Harry left the ad business at the end?
It's been a while since I've seen it. I don't remember that
Henry Reyes
Ken resisted his own nature and character to make the wrong choice. His natural inclination was to settle down with his money and become a writer. instead he chose to follow the worst path by working for Dow selling napalm and agent orange.
Hudson Lee
But none of that matters, because he was just fundamentally unlikeable.
Jayden Perry
Yeah he became a tv producer, right when television exploded like it never had before. The television industry didn't start as we know it until the 70's with cable tv becoming a real thing finally which ironically is when the advertising industry self destructed. Over half the firms folded. End of the Day Harry became the most successful person on the show.
Jeremiah Wilson
He was way more likeable than Pete.
Charles Brown
I like Harry's actor. Was surprised that it was him in pic, totally didn't realize it until the credits.
Nicholas Parker
Annoyingly average, he is somehow too feminine to be a man, and not outright sensitive enough to make him interesting.
He is the human version getting extra sleep and somehow feeling like worse.
Xavier Nguyen
Ken wasnt even really a character until like s6. He has about two subplots before that. He is a foil, a measuring pole for the others.
Eli Gomez
>too feminine for a man >not likeable >asshole >creep
All these reaons people say they don't like Harry can also perfectly describe Pete, and yet Sup Forums creams itself over Pete
Nicholas Jenkins
I don't think so.
Parker Wood
you're wrong
Elijah Stewart
Pete started out acting like an asshole because he's ambitious, autistic, and desperate to fit in. He cools down as he establishes himself and gets more comfortable in his own skin, and by the end, he pretty much redeems himself and becomes one of the most dependable characters in the whole group, professionally and morally.
Harry is just... Harry, all the way through. He's the same unremarkable dough-faced little shit at the end of the series as he is in season 1
Luke Long
Why do you think that morality is what makes a good character
Well written interesting characters can ve bad people too.
Christian Nelson
From which Austin Powers movie is this?
Nolan Baker
He could very easily have been written out of the show once the frat pack aspect of SCD broke down.
Logan Wright
Are we talking about "likable" or good writing? You said likable first, and morality typically comes into play there
Zachary Bailey
It's just the other characters don't call him out. Pete and others get called out for a time.
Ayden Bailey
Because if you made a show full of Harrys nobody would want to watch it. He is inoffensive, which is perfectly acceptable as a way to live but this is a tv show.
Julian James
>based he is not based
he is spineless a kiss ass a creep
youre the same faggot from the "don asshole mements" thread who said he was a great character
youre a faggot
Leo Mitchell
Then why does this board love Pete so much you mindless drone
Easton Torres
because his story is about redemption and hes actually pretty cool once you get to know the character
you are pathetic for thinking about harry crane for the last 16 hours
Owen Campbell
Because he struggles to reconcile himself with his worst attributes, something most people relate to and admire. Harry indulges all of them, and there's nothing to admire in a mediocre whiner
