Redpill me on wildcats
Do they exist in your country? How rare are they? How do they behave? Have you seen one?

>Do they exist in your country?
Yes
>How rare are they?
Pretty rare, but probably less so than the lynx
> Have you seen one?
Yes, but only a stuffed one, not in the wild

Feral cats get eaten by coyotes

I seen one when I was young in "Winter Class" when I was in the Alps with my elementary school class, it was something like 10 years old before.
we were visiting a farm with cows, and on a window there was one Wild Cat in the shadow, he was very intimidating and he scream, that was creepy as fucks, I never seen any cat screaming like that, very very agressive, but he did nothing to us.
that's a cool memory.

sucks, but pound for pound cats are superior

Yes, many
Very rare
Wild and hide
Yes

Also reminder the ancestor of the Domestic Cat is the North African subspecie: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_wildcat
why do you think ancient Egyptians adored cats?

the fuck are you talking about
we dont have them here

Yes mostly up in Scotland.

Yes, they do exist. Not even 25km far away from where I live...

Why didn't Europeans domesticate their wildcats?

Idiot...

Lynxes aren't the same as wildcats...
That would be like saying tigers or lions are wildcats. But you do have wildcats though. Pic related

Because the European one probably can't be domesticated, too wild and rude.
but I think domesticated cats imported from africa and middle east eventually race-mixes with some european variety, to get the colors of the "Celtic shorthair" breed or some shit like that.
The same happened with domestic dogs, they actually descend from some POO-IN-LOO variety of Wolves, more small, weak and submissives to humans than the european ones who can't be domesticated like dogs.

Don't judge the video by its thumbnail.... I've deliberately picked the timestamps of the documentary where they are talking about wild cats...

There are domesticated lynxes tho

All wild cats in Russia. Can you guess their names?

yes, but only two species in isolated islands:
Tsushima mountain cats, and Iriomote mountain cats
both are endangered and hard to see in the wild

kot

Florida Panthers and American Bobcats are the two species we have where I live... They're pussies that run away from humans but kill pets.

By the way OP if you go north we have the Norwegian forest cat in the wild.
About 15 000 wild ones in Norrbotten alone.

kassipojad

We have Bobcats, Lynx, Mountain Lions, Ocelots and Jaguars.

We have these and I've been lucky to see two of them.

Canadian Lynx are their retarded cousins.

What's a wildcat?

1. Amur Leopard
2. Manuuul
3. Siberian Lynx
4. Siberian Tiger
5. Persian Leopard
6. Snow Leopard
7. Irbis
8. Forest cat
9. Amur Forest cat
10. Caracal
11. Hause

So is that past extent of USSR or just Russia that has all those cats? Amazing.

The specie named "Felis Silvestris"
but people here are posting species unrelated, the same kind of people who thinks there are "flying dinosaurs" "marine dinosaurs" not knowing a shit about what the fuck they are talking about like dirty proletarians.

>Felis Silvestris
According to Wikipedia there have been 5 reports of wild cats in the Netherlands between 1999-2014.
And both in 2015 and 2016 one was filmed.

Before 1999 there were no sightings for centuries.

In the USSR there were even more cats.

alexeyosokin.livejournal.com/167822.html

we don't have wild cats, but we do have a creature a bit bigger called jaguatirica

>but people here are posting species unrelated
In English Wild Cats and Wildcats can also mean all felid species.

Here These aren't wildcats

Not really no. A wildcat is this
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildcat

>These aren't wildcats
What the fuck else would you call a wild species of felid?

Wildcat all one word is this This is what OP is getting at. Not just any old cat that lives in the wild, dummy.

how do I know that my cat isn't a wild cat?

he brought me a rabbit once

Because he brought you a rabbit.

Rasheed plz

>Do they exist in your country?
Bobcats,Mountain Lions, lynxes, ocelots in some regions and Feral housecats.
>How rare?
I have never seen any except the ferals in the wild.
>How do they behave?
Mountain lions may attack if you are alone or a child, bobcats, lynxes, ocelots and ferals are likely to just run and hide from you.
>Have you seen one
I see ferals all the time, I've never seen a lynx or a ocelot outside of a zoo, My mom used to keep a hurt bobcat cub she found in our garage before eventually giving it to animal control, I have a friend who's family had a pet mountain lion, there was even somebody on /k/ that knew them as well.
