high speed in blue

Fuuuccck I thought California's shitty slow rail line was defunded????

your country is also smaller than virginia

>high speed
>Philadelphia to Trenton

this doesn't exist; this is a lie

hmm?

this is meaningless because all Americans have cars and most Americans have multiple cars. the average Chinese does not have a car and thus needs to use trains.

Metro thread?

China will be our next ally
Good bye America

...

Hello please tell me why what I said was wrong.

Actually the green in the Chinese picture is equivalent to yellow in the US picture (both above 200 km/h)

The blue in the Chinese picture is even faster still (300 km/h)

We had 200 km/h in 80's in ussr
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ER200

We do well without pleb transit.

Tnx to China-tier inequality.
Btw railroads in America are not electrified which is shocking.

LONDON REPRESENT
BIG UP BIG UP
BRAP BRAP BRAP

XD

Your population is over twice as large as ours, yet your economy is nearly half the size :)

Why does Moscow have so many high rises? I'm from SoCal so it kind of boggles my mind, broski.

I think I read somewhere that Italy has a higher GDP than Russia. Sad really, because obviously you would expect more given how rich they are with natural resources.

>Be Amerilard
>"hahah lel ur cunt tree is le small"
>spends 6 days in car traveling to his grandmas house

Yes Italy does

The Russians are too busy drinking vodka and killing themselves

Jej

I loved using this subway. Not as big as DCs but at least you guys have wifi and your stations don't look drab and borderline communist.

> how rich they are with natural resources.
meme.
Also our resources are located in permafrost far away very expensive to find, extract and transport.
Your economy is based on bank speculation and shady shit like that.
youtube.com/watch?v=WO1ebXqUFDw

Communist stations are awesome. Like fucking palaces. There are groups of tourists examining them all the time.
And very clean.
We have free wifi in all public transport and 4g works there too.

Then what the fuck does Italy have that Russia doesn't? Designer brands and spaghetti? Muh Romans and Renaissance art? Damn.

>Designer brands

As you can see, these "designer brands and spaghetti" make more money than whole Russian economy.

kekek

Are you serious? Italy is one of developed western countries. With a lot of industry, high tech, advanced agriculture, good climate, tourism.
Russia is permafrost hellhole which suffered under communism for century with high corruption and not developed economy, infrastructure. And now it's under sanctions and shit.
Plus brain drain everyone qualified escapes it to better countries.

Well fuck me, our stations just look like Stalingrad and have none of the perks yours get.

>bank speculation and shady shit
Good.

>Your economy is based on bank speculation and shady shit like that.
t. Commie

Our stations built in 80's look ugly. Like some concrete bunkers. Modern stations look very nice again.
Well good for you ofc.

Well, I'll be darned. You still manage to educate intelligent people in spite of it.

>Why can't America (corrupt 3rd world shithole) do X like my safe first world Euro country does X?

Education is getting worse and worse. Old STEM professors from commie ear are dying out and young don't want to work for pennies. Some still teach in unis in spare time from main job/business because of prestige or while doing ph.d or some research.

>Finance Capitalism is good
t. kike

> palace

subway station is not a gypsy mansion

+1 Sup Forums-dollar has been added to your account

It has good architecture not gypsy tier.
But you turned even what you had into shit by covering every centimeter of walls, ceilings, trains with ugly ads.
I was shocked when been in Kyiv.

Stockholm has some very beautiful stations.
Or so does Munich with not expensive modern design.
Our never stations have such design too.
And we manage to develop it. This year we opened 19 new stations.

>Communist stations are awesome. Like fucking palaces.

Only in Moscow. In my city all metro stations look utilitarianly, minimalistic and boring.

Not only in Moscow. In Peterburg, Kyiv and other soviet capitals too.
Yours probably were built in 80's. Moscow stations of that era are like that too.

Are you talking about hamtrak or what?
Also, why do you care, autist?

Holy shit that looks so soviet.
I love it.

Now we have this instead. German to the core.

subway is the subsidized, non profit system, while ukraine has no oil or eu gibs, to survive they rent stations to merchants and fill with ads everywhere it's possible. Ugly? Yes, but it's working.

You use ancient trains and barely maintain them and don't build new stations.
You could have raised price for ticket. It's ridiculously low now.
Even privatize it maybe you are not commie anymore.

I wish we had trains.
This is beautiful

>being this much of a classcuck

F

>being this much of a classcuck

wow wow slow down
don't you see under which flag i'm posting?

I really sucks what happened to the Soviet Union. I would much rather just see reforms be made than the whole thing collapse. A lot of cool technology came out of it, and now it's former republics are struggling to survive.

>280000 people in Tokyo have over 100 million JPY in net worth.
Not about this thread but interesting info. I never asked myself any question "just how many faggot around here have net worth of over 100 million JPY?" But I guess that's my answer.

Not entirely impossible either. If you have 2 house in Tokyo and a car thatt can be 100 million. An above average salaryman in Tokyo can make over 5 million yen a year so getting to become "millionnaire" just by working your day job is possible.

>Ukraine is poor

more news at 12, tell us about new metro lines, trains and beautiful stations in Omsk

Well I thought you are trying to get rid of all that socialist stuff. Raising tarriffs etc. It's just unsustainable in a long run.
Fuck soviet union. I doubt it could be reformed. Well perestroika was attempt to reform it somehow. But nobody want it to last. Not people, not elites and especially not republics.

>2 houses in Tokyo
For what purpose/how

Why aren't you a millionaire?

Well, unless you're one of those notorious Russian tycoons, maybe you should get out of there, eh, tovarish? My old landlord was Russian. His father tried to leave in the USSR days and apparently could not leave because he was involved with designing missiles. This Boris was an interesting fellow.

>especially not republics.

Every USSR republic except for Baltic ones wanted to remain in the USSR.

The USSR could just let the Balts go away and turn into full capitalism. It didn't need to collapse.

>Fuck soviet union. I doubt it could be reformed. Well perestroika was attempt to reform it somehow. But nobody want it to last. Not people, not elites and especially not republics.
You'd be much better off it did though. I still like Russia, but now it's unable to get on it's feet.

>tycoon
Oligarch*
Ftfy

According to soviet referendum which was boycotted by maybe and it's very questionably if we can trust it.
Referendum of independence of Ukraine gave opposite results.

Compare to this

What blows my mind, Shinji, is Southern California. I live in San Diego yet I never realized how wealthy we are here.

> You'd be much better
How? Soviet economy was super ineffective and only produced crap which never could compete on a open market. Most of it were low-quality copies of outdated western tech.
And on top of that soviets were not ready to work for bowl of rice without any workers rights like Chinese.

>no way to gotta go fast from berlin to münchen
france is centuries ahead of us.

>being this insulated and ignorant
You are like babby.

Huge pool of resources and decent level of development. Sure the transition would have been tough, but the outcome would have much better.

How long does it take if you go by train?

> apparently could not leave because he was involved with designing missiles.
Same with my dad. Many his co-workers could leave and IBM hunted and hired them immediately in early 90's for crazy wages. But my dad couldn't leave country.
I worked in space too but never had such high clearance.
I don't want to be immigrant however it's shitty life and I'm relatively well off here. In fact I have some offers in red hat in Czech republic but they pay less than here.

We need to get the Maple Menace out of here. Stat.

Wealthy people from all over the world come to live here it's not that surprising.

>but now it's unable to get on it's feet.
What? Russia has improved massively since the 90s.
Same thing

I will if the definition stay this way. I'm making 4 million yen (which is not even a lot) so that would take 25 years. (granted, not all I make become my Net Worth, I gotta eat and that's just money disappearing into the void, but people who make more than me are plenty and people who own 100 million yen house certainly exists) But what's so weird is that this should NOT be the definition of millionaire. One should not be able to become millionaire just by working day job. That's what I feel at least

Why aren't you a millionaire though? Tons of newgrads are making 50k a year in U.S. right? If you are successful what's the number 100k? 200k?

You are from the richest part of the world. Hollywood, Silicon Valley, why are you even surprised.

I've made that trip several times and never noticed.
Huh.

>You still manage to educate intelligent people in spite of it.

Not anymore, lol.
Quality of education has dropped dramatically since the collapse of Soviet Union, millions of smart and well-educated people left the country in the 90s, and they are still leaving in smaller numbers. There aren't really many options for them, obviously they prefer to move abroad over working at some "UselessShitNoOneCaresAbout" research institute for $100/month.

>What? Russia has improved massively since the 90s.
Sure, but compared to other countries and the position of power it was in before? It's a wretched shadow of it's former self.

lol

If they're millionares why do they live in these shitholes?

bos-wash area is where everything important happens so it doesn't really surprise me. there's no one that would need to go instantly from washington dc to say cincinatti or the ozarks.

They're just numbers on a graph, dude. I've driven from here to Maine and lived in England for a year.

Damn, that's crazy shit. I'm kind of afraid of working for a defense company for that reason. You lose a lot to get that money. On the other hand, I don't have any plans to live abroad.

>but compared to other countries and the position of power it was in before? It's a wretched shadow of it's former self.
Not really. Maybe it was in the 90s. It's still a major world power and economy. All things considered it's doing rather well after such a massive collapse and on the whole it's getting better and better.

Who cares about position and power when people lived in terrible conditions. It were very hard to realize yourself, no freedoms, marasm ideology nobody took seriously, fucking circus. Constant shortages of everything even basic goods. I'm old enough to remember that crap myself and nobody wants it back.
And yes our life improved a lot. It's actually not bad here at least in big cities.

6 hours

>Well, unless you're one of those notorious Russian tycoons, maybe you should get out of there

I'd have already gotten out of here if I could.

>tovarish

Are you a commie?

>soviet referendum which was boycotted

when_you_democratically_vote_against_democracy.jpg

Still, as I said in another post, I had always presumed there was more money concentrated in Manhattan.

Silicon Valley is not in SoCal, though. And Hollywood is actually much smaller than one might think. We do have a lot of defense companies, but the Silicon Valley stuff isn't as big.

If they're shitholes, I don't know what's HELLsinki then.

>
every foreign ticket machine is an endboss.

Nyet.

Fuck, even Paris' ticket machines tripped me out. I did all right talking to the hotel and restaurant staff, but that shit gave me a headache.

Tycoon has a connotation of self-made wealth.
Oligarch has a connotation of wealth from other means.
Nitpicking, but that's how it is.

It's not a world power. A regional one yes, but not a world one. It's one big advantage is the nuclear stockpile left over from Soviet Union. Russian economy is stifled by oligarchs and corruption. It should be much more prosperous than it is. And in recent years it's been doing worse because of sanctions and oil price falling.

Both usually have connections with goverment/authorities.
Tycoons often make fortune on government contracts/subsidies.

>It's not a world power.
Literally is. One of three major world powers with a massive military.
>It should be much more prosperous than it is.
Not an argument.
>And in recent years it's been doing worse because of sanctions and oil price falling.
Not that much worse. Sanctions have also had a positive effect

what the fuck is special about Cook County IL?

>Literally is. One of three major world powers with a massive military.
A massive military that has 80's equipment

>Tycoon has a connotation of self-made wealth.
>Oligarch has a connotation of wealth from other means.
All Russian oligarchs are by definition self made

USSR wasn't really a world power too. It controlled some eastern european countries but that's it. It had no influence even in china and nk.
It wasted a lot of money on various dictators who claimed to be socialst to get those money(while hanging communists themselves) but that's were just wasted money due to dumb ideology.
USSR never had blue water navy or power projection like USA or British Empire etc.
It was always decades behind developed capitalist countries.
Own population hated it.

t. Nicholas the Second

>A massive military that has 80's equipment
Bullshit m8. Recent years have shown that is simply not true and how much it has been modernised.
