Goobacks

scott tennerman

Red Badge of Gayness

good times with weapons or the one where kyle's dad becomes a dolphin

An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig

back when South Park was actually good and not chasing whatever current event was happeneing

Chef getting married
bout tree fiddy

>back when South Park was actually good and not chasing whatever current event was happeneing
They always did this.

Butters' Very Own Episode

does the movie count?

South park almost always had some kind of topical joke or current event parody, but older seasons didnt rely on them as much as now.

Remember when the kids explored the rainforest with Jennifer Aniston to try and spread awareness?

Remember when they made the entire world crap themselves by playing the brown note on Recorders?

Nope. People genuinely love characters like PC principal and shitty season long jokes.

The Dickensian one that starred Pip. I wonder what happened to that character..

"A man's wife is his life!"

Good Times with Weapons is the obvious choice. Other acceptable choices

>Asspen
>The Losing Edge
>Make Love not Warcraft
>Scott Tennerman Must Die

Trapperkeeper

Right, they tried to pick big events that were relatively current in the hopes people would still remember them in a few years and still be funny. This new formula of being hyper cutting edge and making jokes on whatever is popular that week isn't going to work. 2 years from now people will watch the show and go "Who the fuck is PewDiePie and why is there a whole episode about him?"

Make Love Not Warcraft

this

Not a bad choice.

The one where Brittany shoots herself.

the okama gamesphere one

You're wrong only because any episode with Towlie is automatically not good.

Spookyfish or Trapper Keeper. Although for modern times it'd be the imaginationland ones.

>it came out 11 years ago.

I feel old.

I've seen every damn episode and I don't remember that one. The civil war reenactment episode was good.

>when the trapper keeper monster is attacking the city and you can hear "i dont wanna wait for our lives to be over" in a squeaky voice
Always gets me.

I loved that episode.

The tree fiddy episode

The passion of the Jew

Lochness Monster.

He needs about tree fiddy.

Why did you have to tell me this.

Stanley's Cup is way better than it has any right to be.

The rainforest episode

this is my favourite as well

>ice hockey episode
>woohoo starts playing

Tweek x Craig from the 19th season is my favorite of the recent episodes.

Raisins or Spookyfish

I always loved that one.

My favourite was the three meteor shower episodes in season 3.

Cartman masturbating to fucking Cupid Me at the ending was the perfect bow on top of that episode.

My top three are
1. Butters becomes a pimp
2. The one where stan is a horder
3. The one where butters is sent to a gay camp.

The talent show episode, mainly because Jimmy is my favourite character.

Succubus, it's a great episode.

How does it feel going though life as a boring unfunny person?

Holy shit, I can remember when this was a topical thing and people wouldn't shut up about it for months back on WoW forums

Came here to post this. Pure kino.

Tweak x Craig was such a fucked up episode on multiple levels, yet it was still great.

RICHARD

cripple fight
or
woodland critters

youtube.com/watch?v=TCPEd34Ks7Y

The Batdad episode. Prime Randy.

More Crap or The Death Camp of Tolerance

jimmy and timmy join a street gang or whatever it was titled

This one.

i.4cdn.org/wsg/1486876779771.webm

They wouldn't make this today.

good times with weapons is very memorable

Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery

Pick an episode pre-Season 10

spbp

STOP SCREWING AROUND

fake jewelry episode

The Last of the Meheecans.

yes I know it's an entire episode based around a pun give me a break it's still glorious

I thought the gluten episode was hilarious because of the absurdity that gluten would make your dick fly off. Also every time it happened they would explode like fireworks.

Margaritaville

Easily the Russell Crowe episode

The commentary on the episode is prettt hilarious too

Forgot pic

Ginger Kids

The one where Earth is a reality tv show and the producers are jewish aliens.

The final scene is a classic, but the rest of the ep is meh. Like, it was worth it for the pay off, but things leading up to the pay off could have been done better.

The Radiohead bit was pretty stupid

...

Good taste

In commentary they said something like;
"We were out of ideas so we decided to make a cat & mouse type episode"

i got s2 and s3 on dvd but they don't do full commentaries, just a 2-4 minute blurb at the start of the episode. was really disappointed. are there specific collections where they do full commentaries?

The one with the Lord of Rings porn tape.

>2 years from now people will watch the show and go "Who the fuck is PewDiePie and why is there a whole episode about him?"

I get where what you're going for, but probably not the best example since the PewDiePie ep is over 2 years old and he's as, if not more, famous now than he was when it came out.

South Park did this in their earlier seasons. One of their running characters in the early seasons was Mephisto, who's a reference to a shitty Marlon Brando movies from the mid 90s that no one remembers now

Good times with weapons

HEY HEY LETS GO

>You're the worst character ever, towlie
>I know

The Island of Dr. Moreau?

You don't remember Mechanised Barbara Streisand?

They never do full commentaries.

the important thing is that the episode still stands on its own merits, not as a parody of current events
Getting the references should be a bonus, not "hey lets do a whole fucking season about these nostalgic internet racists voting for a clown! WHOOPS HE WON where do we go now"

correct

FUCK YOU DOLPHIN!

Knowing who Mr. Mephisto references isn't really important to the story, though. He serves the same purpose as Dr. Weird in ATHF.

This

The one where Cartman's traperkeeper turns into a giant bloob, you don't remember that?

Jared has aides, optimal butters

I remember when it came out like it was yesterday

Either the first episode of season 2 or the first episode of season 3. Solid gold, both of them. I can accept Red Badge of Gayness too.

Mephisto was hilarious even before I knew about that shitty Brando movie. That's the key difference between the 'topical' subjects of early South Park and the full-on topical subjects of modern South Park.
Just look at the fucking Kickstarter episode. That shit is awful.

I agree. The last 2 season have been complete crap when you compare to the rest o South Park.

Chinpokomon

The Final One.
/thread

garbage

This.
Funniest episode

Christmas Critters

Nice. watched the losing edge the other day, it's still fucking gold.

that was back when randy episodes/subplots were a rare treat, it was better then

Rainforest Schmainforest

ayy both of these are great. butters in raisins is pretty good, spookyfish give me some old episode nostalgia

Sarcastaball was very funny.

But camp tardicaca is a great episode

how can nu park even compete?

youtube.com/watch?v=jmYPRGSOOGo

white trash spotted

Between the consistent solid-ness of the early seasons and the occasional gems of the middle it's hard to pick, here's an objective top 10 in no particular order

The Losing Edge (Baseball episode)
LOTR episode
Margaritaville
Easter Special
Chickenfucker
Red Badge of Gayness (Civil War episode)
4th Grade
(insert your favorite season 5 episode here, they're all great, I'd go with Scott Tenorman)
Red Hot Catholic Love/Christian Rock Hard
Douche and Turd (election episode)

there are about twenty more from seasons 5-8 that i could have picked out. season 8 was the last consistently great season, the kind where you can pick any episode and laugh at it. after that, the good ones get a little harder to find.
