Holy shit, why are the Chinese such plebs? This shit was awful.

consumption of american media is a status symbol

nothing wrong with another vinny d movie, only finances the cool movies he likes to make like the riddick shit

>Vin making more money with which to fund another Riddick
Thanks China.

It's either watch this or propaganda videos after working in slave conditions for 18 hours a day

Isn't China singlehandedly responsible for Warcraft not being a massive flop?

I'd rather see more Riddick than this

THE GOOKS MOST LIKELY THOUGHT IT WAS PORN

They loved Warcraft and all the Transformers sequels, too:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films_in_China

Can they not into torrents or DDL?

bro how do you think things like the riddick movies or the last witch hunter get made? Vin finances them himself from stuff like xxx and the FF movies

leave it to the chinese to ruin the movie industry with their shit taste

>china singlehandly saving the dumb action movies genre
finally did something right

YES THATS RIGHT WE NEED MORE CAPESHIT

MY SOPHISTICATED AMERICAN TASTE IS SUPERIOR

It was produced by a chinese company so technically it's a chink movie. This allows it to get an unencumbered wide release in china.

And yes the movie was god awful bad, I saw it in theaters and felt cheated.

Because the Chinese Cultural Revolution literally killed anyone, anything, and everything with intelligence or culture.

The ships crew died. Now the rats rule.

>more riddick incoming
yes

Capeshit makes its majority of money overseas these days.

>capeshit like age of ultron and suicide squad make money no matter how bad they are
>wtf china stop ruining the movie industry

Fuck your guys, this shit was kino

>people wanting more Riddick after the hilariously awful attempt at remaking Pitch Black with the last sequel
>wanting more of Vin Diesel in anything

...

>Actually defending this garbage

Stop

Fuck off capefag, XXX
Is saving kino

CAN'T BIN THE VIN

They also worship Terminator 2, they've always had shit taste

oh shut up
it was a fun movie

>I finally understand why Shane Diesel's name is Shane Diesel

stop insult china please we have very good movies :(

Vin can make all the shitty Fast & Furious & xXx movies he wants and make bank if it all goes towards funding more Riddick. I am all about more Riddick.

wish they'd just sink 400 mill into a massive riddick universe 3 hr movie with dreadnoughts falling into suns and giant battle cruisers dueling with megacannon over light years

Because fun is illegal there

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Here's a list of China's highest grossing movies

MAMI YO ME SIENTO TUYO

Y SE QUE TU TE SIENTES MIA

damn bro that would be cool.

This. Vin Diesel is great.

>won't watch kinos with black actors
>will watch bald Jewish manlets though
I really don't understand China.

>Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons

Mmmm can't wait for 2-3 more Warcraft movies, scripted specifically to appeal to Chinese audiences. Gonna be great.

Wtf I love China now

>Triggered

China doesn't force anyone to do shit in hollywood. They've been making shitty blockbusters for years long before the rise of the popularity of the "chinese market".

The numbers don't even compare to some of the opening weekend numbers in the US.
>Marvel's The Avengers $207,438,708
>Avengers: Age of Ultron $191,271,109
>Jurassic World $208,806,270

Out of a population of more than 1 billion people you'd think it'd be MUCH higher than a $61.9 million opening.

>They've been making shitty blockbusters for years long before the rise of the popularity of the "chinese market".

Who said otherwise? The issue is that China makes it worse and that the industry is more mega-blockbuster-centric than its ever been. That's pretty undeniable. If you have any doubt that China is an influence on American movies just look at xXx's cast. They bet on the Chinese market and it paid off.

>The numbers don't even compare to some of the opening weekend numbers in the US.

Those are much larger movies across the board, dumbass. Age of Ultron had an 155m opening weekend in China.

>Out of a population of more than 1 billion people you'd think it'd be MUCH higher than a $61.9 million opening.

Actually no, the huge size of the US market has traditionally been the worldwide outlier and the fact that one country is on its way to catching up and surpassing as a consumer of American movies it is a big fucking deal. By comparison, India is still basically irrelevant.

I think you got sidetracked a little there.

OP (like many before him) was complaining that China is specifically responsible for a lot of the trash that gets made today by hollywood, which is not entirely the case. OP took that article as proof of this assumption even though the number of people in China who watch these blockbusters don't even compare to the number of people in the domestic market. They claim that China is "full of plebs", when only a small percentage of the actual population of China watches western movies. The point is, China isn't really responsible for the actions that studios take or what movies get green-lit to the degree OP, and you, are suggesting.

I honestly don't think a 61.9 million opening weekend is evidence of a "solid bet" for the studios and their investors, enough for them to think it's any kind of safe bet. But again, that's not what I was discussing. My point has to do with the misconception that China is this nation of plebs starving for shitty western blockbusters, more so than the US itself, when Ghostbusters (2016), which was not even shown in China, made more money domestically ($128,350,574) than it did world wide. Besides, the most popular films in China are all Chinese films!

>155m opening weekend in China.
Compared to the $191,271,109 weekend in the US. That's my point. There are FAR less people in the US. People in China who watch this shit are not the majority. So to insinuate that the reason hollywood movies are so shit specifically because of the chinese market is completely ridiculous.

>for you

>Holy shit, why are the Chinese such plebs?
toxic smog kills a third of their population and makes the rest deranged

cbc.ca/news/technology/china-india-air-pollution-deaths-1.3981769

all high-budget films are written to appease the chinese censors, and have been for years

studios rarely bother with alternate cuts for different markets

why do you care?

>Implying this movie wasn't the fucking bomb
10/10 I laughed the whole way through

They've been made a soulless Godless race thanks to communism/Marxism and the subsequent mind fuck that had on them. Both consumer capitalism and communism strip people of their humanity mang.

Yeah, it's hilarious. Check out Vin Diesel's game "Wheelman" for more hilarity.

It was almost guaranteed to make a lot of money internationally, because of the international cast.

>implying chinese government isn't just dumping goy import money into shit like this to destroy our culture

The Chronicles of Riddick games are genuinely great.

>we are getting another Riddick movie
whats the problem OP?

It looks like a friend I have working over there is leaving soon. She is sick of the horrible internet and really dumb people. You hear people whine about Americans being sheep and watching dumbed down media. It seems China is even worse.

Say what you want about the rest of the movie but Donnie Yen kicking ass was awesome.

>implying the Chinese don't literally take black people out of their movies

I'd usually be upset but Vin Diesel will use the money to make passion projects like Riddick that won't do well at all, get no outside funding, but he enjoys
