Social Security is just another form of welfare. Why do we need it?

What's the point of SSI anymore? If I recall right, it was made so people can get back the money they earned after they retire, if that's the case, why do we have people getting SSI even though they never worked? What's worse is the fact that people who can clearly work are still getting it. I've met plenty of people who are getting Social Security just because they are mildly autistic.

Will bump once

>Social Security

>security

there is your answer

It's not really security when people who don't feel like working are collecting SSI cuz lol i have a mild mental disorder.

At that point it's just leeching off hard working people who will need security in the long run

basically everyone agrees SS needs to be either reformed or replaced/removed

even the commies agree because the gibs are too sparse

The system is broken. It really is just welfare at this point.

that's the system's fault though, the idea itself is still right

imagine getting hit by a car and losing both of your legs, surely you'd like the government to give a fuck about you

Reform Social Security so that it works like Jobseekers Allowance/Universal Credit like we have in the UK.

>Forced to look for work
>Regular appointments with a Work Coach
>Sanctioned if you don't do what you are told (loss of entitlement to welfare, welfare reduced by 40%)
>Regular health/fitness tests when claiming Employment Support Allowance, so that when people recover and become more able again, they can go back into the workforce.
>huge crackdown by the Government on the welfare state over the past 6 years
Why can't the US do this? Though you lot were more right-wing than us?

its actually pretty hard to get ssi

the people who abuse it are the nigs on ssi who get more money for each niglet they shit out

Funny thing about that. I knew a woman who had an accidenr where she lost both of her legs. Guess what? It took her SEVEN TRIES to get SSI.

Has trump even mentioned SS yet? That is definitely going to be a huge issue down the road

Congressional voting records are made public so no one makes practical compromises and everyone sees voting up or down on a bill merely as a method of signaling to their constituent base.

That's not "SSI", though.

That's welfare. Entirely different pool of money with different rules.

SSI is for retirees and the disabled.

Though I agree that the definition of "disabled" may be getting to be way too broad and easy to obtain these days.

It'd get called racist or some shit and end up in legislative limbo

They can never get rid of SSI for retirees.

The streets would be filled with old people overnight (and a lot of them will end up moving in with their kids). Lots of old people do not have any sort of retirement income other than SSI so you're going to have to figure out what to do with them.

>inb4 soylent green
But no, seriously, we will pump up SSI as much as we have to because there's no other good choice.

SSI is not 'social security', it stands for supplemental security income, and only disabled and elderly can get it.

i didnt know that really

it makes me mad honestly though going to the store when they get their money

there will be families 3+ kids and more than one basket of items

everything is missing from the store those days

So basically more government.

I can see how my MP voted on a whole range of things, why is this relevant?

How is it racist when the biggest claimants of welfare in the US are white? (by raw numbers, not by racial proportions)

But "disabled" is a title given to fucking everyone now.

What's that, you're kind of rude and mumble a bit? You're autistic! Have SSI!

I think you guys are mixing up Social Security that is for older people who worked and payed into the system in theory.

What the lazy people get is Social Security Disability, it comes out of the Social Security pool of cash. It pays more usually than Social Security and all you need is a doctor who agrees your fat ass is qualified.

Social Security Disability is what is drying up SS and making it so those who worked will never get it. Someone i graduated with in highschool ( mexican dude ) got on the program at 21 and plans to never work a day in his life.

I have a friend with a shriveled baby hand and he is the only person I know under 23 on neetbucks and not abusing them

Actually the work capability assessments are done by Atos, a private company.

Try again though faggot.

anything that slightly inconveniences even a single chimp is racis

But enforced by the government. Try again, Ahmed.

>blind in one eye
>have aspies
>have a job
>can't get SSI

>rude autistic bitch I know gets SSI
>doesn't work
>she's clearly capable of working

Fuck SSI.

you have to use a lawyer to get neetbucks they will deny anyone the first time. If you lose both arms and 1 leg they will tell you with a straight face that you should get a job hopping on bugs

You sound like some sort of Libertarian/AnCap faggot.

You realise by introducing these measure, you'd actually reduce the size of the welfare budget, and due to the reduction in spending, the state gets smaller?

No, of course you don't, you're fucking dumb.

taxes taken out of my check so fucking retards can collect free money

if you ever want a hard look on society go sit in a social security office for a little while

lots of fat overweight women collecting free money from the government aka hard working men

There isn't any valid economic point to it, and never was, but people distrust banks and markets, so the SSA programs enjoy very widespread public support. If voters could be made to see how much better their 6-12% payroll tax would be doing in an index ETF, their opinions would change.

My great hope is that one day personal finance will become the core purpose of high school math classes, and people will be ready for adult concepts like mortgages, retirement funding, how markest function, etc. But looking at demographic forecasts, I can see that's not likely to happen

I've paid more than a quarter million into that program and I'll never see a fucking penny of it. I'm just glad I'm self-employed now and no longer obligated to keep throwing money into that black hole.
>o u kno i mad

If you're talking about SSDI, you're wrong. This is the game:
>apply for ssdi because diabetes, autism, whatever
>claim denied
>get lawyer
>judge approves claim because government never sends attornies to dispute appeals

Dead serious. The gov't doesn't represent itself in appeals, ever. I don't know if it's a budget hole, oversight, or by design, but they don't contest appeals.

its 15% you pay 7.5% and employer pays the other 7.5%

>why do we have people getting SSI even though they never worked?

You don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about. Stop listening to whatever liberal kike professor you think has been educating you, goyboy.

You don't know shit about me. Do you know how you bypass all that nonsense? Cut spending and amazingly, government reduces in size. Simple concept, I know, for some POM like you.

Holy shit, I AM disabled lol

>Simple concept, I know, for some POM like you
hmmmmmm
>Do you know how you bypass all that nonsense? Cut spending and amazingly, government reduces in size.

>and due to the reduction in spending, the state gets smaller?

Really makes you think......

the point of it is not to be a great economic investment the point of it is so that old fags still get money for the rest of their lives and they are not starving in the streets because they blew all their paychecks at the casino

how's that employment rate in the UK?

>what is the difference between economic incidence and legal incidence
You should probably grow a brain.

See above.

i wonder how much it costs them to send a lawyer compared to paying out

Can't come up with an argument, so he just green texts what I said. Well memed.

...

Actually, I quoted what you said, and then quoted myself, and what you haven't realised is that you basically repeated what I said in my post.

Reading comprehension appears to not be your strong suit however.

>I can see how my MP voted on a whole range of things, why is this relevant?

I'm just bullshitting. Maybe its a difference in the political media culture that does it. It is a fact that everyone in congress views voting as signaling to their constituents. Attacks by their opponents within the party tend to bring up a vote from long ago in which they didn't tow the party line and represent "true conservatism" or "true progressivism".

>muh one policy would somehow reduce the size of the state even though the u.k. bureaucracy shows no sign in stopping

nice router reset

No. I would not. I would accept that I'm responsible for myself and that it was my fault the car hit me.

With my good genetics I have a family with good jobs and ample income to take care of me. If my genetics were bad and my family was incapable of taking care of me, I deserve to die starving in the streets.

No matter which way you look at it, a person who cannot survive on their own or with their family deserves to die. People aren't special. We're animals, like cattle.

My favorite people are Ayn Rand, Adolf Hitler, Donald Trump, Bertrand Russell, and Ronald Reagan.

Like most conservatives, I love getting fucked in the ass be large black men. I feel that humans need to obey the genetically superior. When Jamal pounds me, I squeeze my Hitler doll because it hurts so much. But I know Hitler would be proud that a genetically superior man is filling me with his seed.

So, yeah. Fuck social security.

nice summary of Sup Forums

strange digits

Originally, it was designed for the elderly to have a modest income once they retire.
Then it was to provide for the truly disabled.

Problem is that people realized that if they pester da gubmint enough. they can get neetbux for stubbing their toe 6 years ago. All they have to do is fly under the radar.
There are more and more of these people and they're going to be taking 50+ years of your money
