If I'm marathoning (fuck off) a TV series and want to get through a bunch of episodes I'll watch them at like 1.3x, but I never speed up movies.

Most movies are literally too desperate to make movie longer. So they try to slow the movie as much as possible. Scenes are slow, the way characters talk is slow etc.. I think they are doing this to appeal to even the slowest/most retarded audience.

i prefer watching movies at 1.0x but when i used to have a bunch of cinema classes all at once i watched them all at 2.0x with subtitles cause otherwise i wouldn't have been able to keep up even though most were good movies i wanted to watch.
I sped breaking bad up to 1.5x during the boring parts, of which there were a lot, like when Walter is arguing with his wife. Had to speed it up to 2.5 occasionally when it got really unbearable, had subtitles on but could still hear what was going on.
