Why do our towns look like shit compared to Europe?

Why do our towns look like shit compared to Europe?

That actually looks pretty comfy.

yea man i wish we had comfy european towns like this

All the building are only 100 years old roughly

the nation is about 230is years old

Most construction is done with utilitarian mindset because it reflects the mentality of the US populous

I don't think it looks that bad. Modern Paris is much uglier (and filled with brown people)

Not sure. I guess our ancestors just preferred a plain architectural style. Europe went through many architectural moods over their long histories and so ended up producing an aesthetically pleasing mish-mash of exotic architectural styles in their towns. That's the best I got.

Because europe is older and grew a lot slower. We have had 200 some years to make enough housing for a huge population. Soo sorry if our country isn't pretty enough for you

That doesn't look too bad.
A dead town yes, but it doesn't looks unclean.

Comfy town reporting, I live nearby.

10/10 would go there after retirement

Because your roads are not built for medieval warfare and defence.

You have these boring square layouts, we have these intricate roadsystems whose only purpose is to slow down attackers, so it takes longer for them to reach central square.

It doesn't look to bad. I've seen a lot worse

I don't mind american towns, even though they feel a bit artificial and standardized.

Speak for yourself yankee

because we expanded rapidly and a lot of towns were built makeshift on the go

I'm American and no matter what arguments Americans put forward, this is totally true. The vast majority of America is hopelessly ugly.

I agree with But our cities are built for cars, Europe's citis are built for people. Our buildings were built for financial pragmatism and function. Aesthetics was a secondary effort. This is especially the case for the later 20th century, when Keynesian economics kind of took over for good. Everything looks and feels replaceable, because it is.

But in Europe it wasn't the same philosophy until the 20th century. A lot of old buildings and architecture gives them a sense of culture, especially in southern Europe where its very ancient cultures that were deeply into architecture.

Modern art has ruined architecture, and is mostly pretty gross.

Jesus looks like a bad photoshop nigel. Is that image actually legit?

casino towns are the best

but that's not true

Casino Cities and New York are literally Jew hiveworlds user.

because you're building your houses out of planks and insulation.

My hometown is pretty comfy desu

I don't live there anymore but i visit my parents every month

...

What New Orleans actually looks like outside of the one square mile of tourist destination

Reno was owned by red neck rancher bosses and they warred with the vegas kikes

because most of your buildings are pretty recent compared to european

Where is that?

It looks like a nazi colony user, are you blond haired?

Give us 1000 years to build up and we wont look that shitty.

I had the same question OP

I'm talking to a friend in France and they have all sorts of buildings with such detailed design, and whenever I want to take a pic of our buildings l, they're just square buildings with windows

...

Detroit back in the day

A lot of US towns were built very quickly to a low standard, with whatever style the architect fancied at that time.

Most European towns go back to the middle ages and antiquity. Over the centuries distinct architecture and style developed, existing buildings were improved upon or replaced by betters - but often in the same style. It gives character, something most US towns and cities lack.

European countries are smaller than most states. Thus, instead of chopping into the endless expanse of north american forest and building new shit that will rot in 30 years, they refine the buildings that they already have and build shit out of stone

Kinda, my hair is dirty blonde because my mom has blonde hair but my dad's hair is light brown

I have blue eyes though

This cathedral is in the centre of our capital.

There are benches in the parks surrounding it and since I work nearby I go eat my lunch (usually a pork sandwich from a nearby deli) every day. I am used to it, so don;t pay much attention, but it's a pretty great location.

Probably a shit camera or something, but it's legit m8

>Because you either haven't visited Europe or went outside of the major cities
/Thread

Every time I see Brazil poster,I literally assume they're posting from pic related.

...

too many flat roofs

Oh, pre-wasteland era. Cool user

German architecture

...

This looks like 60% of california

Remove the stucco facade, reveal the brick. Do some minor upgrades and you have a hip new neighborhood.

That image looks super comfy but the modern buildings are fucking autistic. Doesn't look right at all.

Yeah it's a city founded by German migrants

Happens a lot, that's our most famous contribution to the world after all

The towns founded in the colonial era are pretty neat imo.

All the shit-tier towns are out west.

Would be cool to live in some village like this... Idk if it's Hungarian or some Bavarian stuff, I'm not very worldly.

nah m8

Europe has had thousands of years to produce nice cozy towns with medieval architecture . Our towns sprang up over a couple decades around travel routes.

Because our towns weren't built 600 years ago with the worlds most insane street arrangements, meaning we can build them in orderly, grid fashion.
Most builds are made for maximized space usage so the additional expense of making them look neat on the outside is cut out, why bother?

so many comfy town pictures ITT

posting my town

that still looks kinda comfy

this is what canada looks like everywhere

I would love to live in one of those small american towns where you park up right infront of the shops like this

this is a major problem with america. it has no physical heritage that one can be proud of and no real ethnic homogeneity. the only thing that can arouse national spirit in americans is winning wars. america can have no national spirit, and thus no strong society, without constantly fighting and winning giant wars.

>That neon green church roof
What the fuck are you doing Sweden?

where's the mosques?

speak for yourself

our cities keep growing around the unplanned core, so ti becomes a big mess

the only ones with proper planning are those who were destroyed in the wars and rebuilt after lol

>tfw we fell for the European meme

Don't ever let Euro design buildings for you. You don't want this to happen to you.

that green is acually copper, looks very nice when they clean and polish it

Londonistan has one of the ugliest skylines in the world.

100% honest m8 no trolling or baiting

My city's downtown area. Has a good aesthetic to it. Pretty comfy.

the car melting tower is a 10/10

Brits are not European (and barely human)

Really nice fampai

wtf is with that buttplug and the weird rounded rectangular blob of a building somewhat next to it

My hometown, I miss that small city feel

More from my town

Holy fuck American education right there

I know, it's terrible. Hopefully the muslims will fly some planes into them

Love the rock in the background, you guys are very lucky with all that wilderness.

that shard tower is fucking sick tho

>americans are supposed to know what swedish churches are built out of
Is that what you learn in european ""education""?

because we have too much space so everyone builds out instead of up. so nothing is dense enough to supprot enough profit for design. more or less. so many one storie houses, meanwhile in euro, everyone in a city has at least 3 lvls(inculding basement)

You kidding me? I've been from Portugal to Germany and most houses and buildings are small as fuck. American houses are huge compared to European ones. People are thinner but way more degenerate. Saw way more interracial couples in Europe than in America and women were a lot more slutty.

looks like it would have a smoky smell

>all those trees
just fuck my shit up

where is that Abruzzo?

That looks sweet as he*k m8, where is it?

its chemistry bruh

I see a dildo and an old HP desktop tower.

arizona and nevada have some great small towns

Arizona is a fucking awesome place to live.

Jeez

I think it'd probably be pretty boring living in a city like that, arr rooks same

Nope, that's Varese's city centre (really north lombardy, almost switzerland). The real centre in the picture is a bit shitty, the countryside nearby is an heaven though.

town I just moved too is pretty comfy desu senpai

Move to the Midwest. They're literally everywhere and are separated by dozens of miles of forest and farms. Pic related is 10 miles from me and this rural shithole hasn't really progressed since the 1890s. Don't let the cozy look fool you--anyone that isn't a farmer, factory worker, or working in retail is probably an unemployed drunk or methhead.

I don't see the problem, it looks like your average cuckshed in MN

its suburbia. whites raise a family there to keep away from niggers than leave.

it's way overrated. rea city living is mich beyter

Fan vad jag saknar Göteborg

VARFÖR flyttade jag hem till Malmö?

I plan to go on a Coast to Coast with my friends when we turn 26 or something (currently 23).
If you have some good trips i'm very happy to hear, I have been collecting material since last year.

Europe towns look like shit

still have plenty of that in nebraska

I'm with and I kind of wish I grew up in a small, mid-western town where it looks like you went back in time to the 60's.
