How is this movie scary and good again? The whole thing is boring dialogue with some screams at the end. I fell asleep to it and the only time I got scared was when I was woken up by a really loud scream.

LOTR

It's not really scary it's just an extremely well made film.
The actual concept is creepier, I do find myself more and more disturbed by it every time I watch, especially once I started believing in demons.

>especially once I started believing in demons.

Movie's good but Rosemary's Baby is much better

why haven't you added bug?

I didn't believe in demons the first time I saw the film. At some point between subsequent viewings I began to, based on personal experiences that are impossible to satisfactorily explain without having directly personally experienced such things yourself, as is the case with all seemingly fantastical subject matter.

>There people on Sup Forums who really agree with this bait

5/10

I have the same feeling, i keep telling myself not to believe in demons and ghosts and shit because then ik would become too scared after watching movies.

It's more about how unsettling/disturbing/unnerving/fucked up it is.

That atmosphere and mood, you know, parts of what make a story, are far more effective at inducing horror than something simple like being "scary" are.

What makes this film scary is the actual implicatiosn behind it. Possession is one helluva condition, especially when you hear all the rumors about real life priests claiming they do hundreds of exorcisms per year. Like, what if these things are real? What if we're possessed without knowing it? Is that why I watch all the porn and swear a god and Virgin Mary so much? Makes you think. And I've heard some rather... peculiar stories from people who went to spiritual meeting in churches and such.

name a scarier scene than spiderwalk down the stairs

>there are redditors out there who liked those movies

The old girl in the bathtub from the Shining.

Not really. Psycho falls in that category while this does not. Just plain average by today's standards.

Where can I find (prefeeraly stream) the Theatrical Cut? It's far superior to the DC.

The Exorcist 3 is real deal: youtube.com/watch?v=ey4FsAHyvew

Pretty sure Netflix has the theatrical cut.
