DEVELOPMENTS JULY 1 >Jihadists execute captured pilot >Assad says Western countries secretly dealing with his government >Rebels capture Kinsibba in Lattakia province >Syrian Army launches a new offensive in eastern Ghouta >Syrian Army presses Darayya offensive as rebels refuse to surrender >Islamist rebels walk directly into Tiger Forces trap in northern Aleppo July 2 >reports that ISIS captured Awn-dadat north of Manbij, which would be huge but this is unconfirmed no kurdish sources confirming >some reports that ISIS advanced out of Manbij to the east and captured a village, which may as well be bullshit since usually when ISIS actually does something they love to take pictures of it, but no proof as of yet. >SAA continues their offensive in the mallah farms with reported gains in the south >Reports that YPG captures the southern part of the Al-Hazwanah neighborhood of Manbij
Would not say collaps. Saraf was already recaptured.
Matthew Powell
Bump, lets not let this thread die
Grayson Morris
It shouldn't be hard at all for the SAA to dig in and fortify recaptured points. This was a complete embarrassment to the SAA. Maybe this will start turning around as more SAA troops get retrained by Russian advisers.

Christopher Brooks
even if not, latakia is not as hard to capture as you might think. remember it was captured beforehand in winter, bad weather conditions, against turkish supplied locals and in a really short amount of time. let nusra waste its men there, makes it easier for the tigers.

More like a Sipahi. Although the style of armour is of course Persian in origin.
Julian Williams
well they profit on both ends. first of all now that there are hundrets of more mouth to feet deir ezzor might run into supply problems and locals who were under permanent threat the last years might be more willing to join local militia in qamishli. deir ezzor itself is pretty save.
Robert Powell
Hmm that does make sense
Id like to see a non-markito source first though

Now you Pooteenists are learning.
Honestly why do you think Pooteey more or less pulled out?
Because he knows this war is the biggest fucking farce on the face of the earth. It's an insult to the name of war.
Arabs must be so fucking incompetent it's beyond human reasoning.
Then you'll realise the Ottoman Empire was the best for the region.
Then you'll realise that Otto faggot was right all along.

I have a strong feeling Markito is just making shit up again
Seriously, though, I"m worried. SAA got BTFO in the oil fields, Raqqa offensive failed and now who the fuck know what is happening in Deir Ezzor and Manbij.
What's the chance that Putin goes ballsdeep?
Aaron Sullivan
>Manbij
that's an american led cluster fuck. not much to do with putin
Josiah Barnes
Speaking of Manbij, a South Front article just came out.
then again, north-central Homs and north of Aleppo are good.
if the Latakia counteroffensive goes well then all this could turn around real quick in the coming days
If this war has taught us anything its that momentum goes back and forth real quick and often its meaningless to form prognoses based on the events of one week
also again friendly reminder the rumours about deir ezzor started with MARKITO. Ignore this shit.
>Houthi forces captures strategic site in southern Taiz

This. People often forget how dynamic the battlefield can be.

Hey, /sg/. Do you guys know that site people here used to look planes going in and out of Syria? Any link?
Notice how South Front (name is a veiled reference to Ukraine, to be sure) actually celebrates when IS win a victory against the US backed Kurds or the Syrian Army (the real one, not the Shia Alawite Army). Typical Russian sub human spite. And still you underage armchair beta fucks suck Pooteeys dick as le saviour of Assad Arabia

Still, what little I know is that Gulf coalition has only been able to stop the Houthis from taking Aden and advancing in South Yemen, but other than that, is pretty static.
Dominic Gomez
we used to have a few Houthi fighters from Yemen who would post here a lot. I hope they aren't dead. they haven't posted here in a long time

They realized at this point that civilians are terrorists. So the focus is not to capture territory but rather to get the civilians to attack SAA and kill them.

On the whole of the map strategically Assad is still in a better position since 6 months ago, though his initiative has stalled out.
This is common though, battles ebb and flow back and forth. I don't think anyone's hoping that he wins necessarily, but frankly, the way I see it is that a US hegemony over the Middle East would be a bad thing, and that's what would happen if Syria were to be forced into the US's sphere of influence via a color revolution.
Thomas Murphy
Maybe I should add Saraf (Latakia) recapture, but then again too many items makes it cluttered
