Because he's not an actor with any range, he was just impeccably cast as "Ray Liotta in the mob" in Goodfellas.

Reminder that Casino is better than Goodfellas solely because Ray Liotta isn't in there

Good point

You're both plebs. He was excellent in Copland and Killing them Softly.

Cop Land
Field of Dreams
Narc
Killing Them Softly
Observe and Report

Kindly fuck off now OP

Any role I'd consider for Liotta I would just instantly give to this guy instead. Same persona, better actor. It's a shame X-Files murdered his career.

They don't have the same persona at all.

Friendly reminder that if the Marvel Universe started in the 80s, Ray Liota would have been Captain America.

As opposed to the seeming majority opinion here, I actually think Liotta is a very good actor. Why he's not been in much, I do not know. That said, whenever he is in something - even if it's a bit-part - he usually excels.

I've heard it all before, pal.

He was good in Signs.

>As opposed to the seeming majority opinion here
The majority opinion is that Ray Liotta is good. Don't let OP's faggotry convince you otherwise.

>implying this isn't pure kino

I really liked him in observe and report

I dunno if Cop Land is considered good but I'm going to pretend it is because I like it.

Vice City is kino

>De Niro
>Stallone
>Harvey Keitel
>Ray Liotta
>Robert Patrick
>small town sheriff standing up to corrupt big city cops
>dat entire last act
It's fucking great. The cast alone is outstanding.

He was good in that shitty michael cera coming of age flick. Only good part of the movie other than cera

Because he's an awful actor with zero range.

Holy shit I almost forgot this existed. Would def rewatch and recommend, good comfy movie

he's good in this kino

I liked him as the protag's dad in Blow, but the way he said Georgie still grates on my nerves.

Sometimes I'll just be lying half asleep in bed at night, the rest of the house utterly silent, when I hear it. "Gyeeorgie."

shit I forgot all about that movie

haven't thought about it in years since I saw the OP

remember it quite fondly tbqh

>turned down the lead Sopranos role because he didn't like working in a tv series

really scratching my head here

Because hes not a very good actor, who only has two looks, angry and neutral. Look at the Pesci "you think Im funny scene" and just watch Liotta..

Its strange that he didnt have a career as a typecast criminal though. Maybe he turned down those kind of roles hoping to get something else after Goodfellas.

He was in Vice City

Came here to post this

>same persona
How?

>Its strange that he didnt have a career as a typecast criminal though
He did though. He's had dozens of appearances as a mob related crook.

He isn't just in Vice City, he IS Vice City.
