Is North Korea really that bad as western media makes it out to be?
If you look at various videos or, 'documentaries' of people visiting to North Korea. They all seem to blend together, there's still bars and, other things for your everyday patron that still allows you to have fun and, generally enjoy yourself despite western media going "oh no north korea is a very very bad!!!".
It seems the only difference between N.K and, the western world is that N.K doesn't want you to have a Iphone shoved into your face 'nor constantly consuming technology but rather enjoy life through your eyes. Not a screen. (There's also the complete dictatorship but rather have that then a false democracy)

the flow of visitors into NK is strictly controlled and the visitors can not leave their hotels without their government minders. Even then Pyongyang (the capital) is where all the elite live.

Also there is a UN report by our retired High Court justice Kirby on North Korea. Kirby is as about as clean as a person can be, so his report is pretty conclusive evidence of how shit it is.

It's shit. Every defector has said it was shit, and most evidence points to people in Norkland living like shit. NK's living standards dropped like a fucking sack of potatoes in the 90's when the Combloc went down and both China and Russia began to call on the huge loans NK took out from them. When they couldn't pay, they began to cut back on aid to the country, which was basically the only thing keeping it afloat. Despite what the Norks claim there's no way in hell they'll ever be fully self-sustainable without drastically lowering their population. The farmland in NK is shit, and even if it were to be fully farmed and fertile it's not enough to feed everyone in NK. Most other food sources are the same way. Given that most services like electricity and running water either outright stopped or slowed to a crawl after the 90's the Norks will basically never reach the same level of development they used to be at. Sure if you visit you'll see some shit working in Pyongyang, but the rest of the country is for the most part in the shitter. Even in the capital there's occasional blackouts and evidence of buildings that are either abandoned or were started but never finished. The country is a prime example of going full retard with socialism, then somehow making the situation even worse. There's also probably not going to be a happy end to the country since when (it's when, not if. They came damn fucking close to coming down in the 90's but held on by the skin of their teeth, which they continue to do) the north eventually is to be reintegrated with the south, it will be decades before northerners have anything close to the South's living standards, and in the meantime you have to wean them off of decades of literal indoctrination (read up on NK schools, 1984's got nothing on this shit).

Most defecors already feel psychologically fucked when they go to South Korea. Everything is the opposite of what they expect, and it's almost fucking obvious that they're a northerner to any southerner they meet. Many fall on financial difficulty, turn to prostitution (so yes it is possible to fuck NK women), or off themselves. Only a few manage to successfully transition. Could be likely. The refugee crisis will make the current one look like fucking nothing, worse is that it will be an international clusterfuck as people try and figure out how the hell were supposed to take care of literally millions of starving people, and they will be starving because when lil Kim finally goes down what little means of food production and transportation will go down with him.
