Why doesn't NBA switch to FIBA rules?
Why doesn't NBA switch to FIBA rules?

what's the difference?
are they enough to call them different games?
NBA paint area is a rectangle.
same reason nhl doesnt use iihf rules.
they arent going to subject themselves to some yurosnobs that claim to be the "governing body" of the sport.
so the only difference is the paint?
wtf that's exactly the same game
they call travel more I think as well
>FIBA rules
Why use rules written up by faggots?
fiba seems like nba on easymode 2bh

this...NBA allows players to take a varying amount of steps before calling travelling. Variables like star power, marketability, shoe deal, and soul all factor into if players get 2 or 6 steps before travelling.
and so is fiba paint
The difference mainly comes down to the conversation from Imperial to the base-10 system. I.e. 100 minute games divided into 10 quarters, 10 meters high rim etc
>fiba.basketball
This has got to be a bait post, if not, you are probably the dumbest mother fucker I have come across
>10 meters high rim
nah, he sounds perfectly legit
that's the opposite actually: the unrestricted defense in FIBA rules is a massive game changer and make it more complex
the few cm of difference on the 3 pts line is irrelevant at high level
Make the 3 points arc even smaller? nah, it's bad when you have so many 3pts specialists like in the nba
though it's not much, it makes a slight difference on the rebounding spacing for the players on free throws
appart from that, the diference is pretty much irrelevant
meters high rim
it's 10 feet, not 10m
re-read this guy's post
you quoted the wrong post then nigga
no he didn't.

That is old, and a very simplified version of the rules. The biggest difference is the inbounds rule, thats it, and maybe the goaltending, but iirc they changed that during the olympics
:^)
Isn't the cylinder rule and the basket interference rules the big differences in the FIBA rules?
NBA games are called much more loosely (which is less fair but more fun to watch)
Fwiw, FIBA rules seem to be slowly getting closer to the NBA as time goes on (e,g adoption of 24 second shot clocks). I'd like to see FIBA adopt 12 minute quarters.
So is the FIBA paint you raging homo
nah, goaltending concerns (in general) no more than 3 or 4 possessions for a team during a game (knowing that a team has around 65 to 70 offensive possessions per game)
the real massive difference is the totally unrestricted defense in FIBA rules
US players who often rely on driving to the basket (like Westbrook, Harden, Irving...) struggle a lot on this particular point during international tournament, as it makes packing the paint and help defense much easier and more efficient. Not that it prevent the US team to dominate anyway, as they have a lot of other strengths they can use.
