Is the caste system still thing in modern day India?
Like if you're born a brahmin you have no choice but to become a priest?
What's more important regarding a person's status, money or caste?

>Like if you're born a brahmin you have no choice but to become a priest?
are you an idiot to believe this?

>What's more important regarding a person's status, money or caste?
effiing money, whcih unfortunately I don't have much.

I'm pretty sure they got rid of the caste system.

Legally yes, though I've heard it's still present in more remote parts of India.

Here let me tell you what's what, I am a North Indian so I can only tell you about North Indian Cities and rural areas

India Caste system - According to constitution
>No legal status
>Discrimination on the basis of caste is illegal
>Everybody has equal rights
>Lower castes get special status as there seats are reserved in all public institutions i.e. schools, colleges, government jobs
>Reservations/Quota means only the member of reserved category can get that post.
>50% of the total vacant seats are reserved for underprivileged, economical weaker section, backward classes, lower castes, handicaps etc. etc.
>Lower castes/untouchables have the biggest share in it i.e. about 20%+

North Indian cities
>Nobody cares about castes unless you want to marry your kid
>Lower castes immigrate from rural areas to urban areas for work
>They pretend to be upper castes and lie that they are upper caste Brahmins or Kshatriya - The main reason why Brahmins and Kshatriya don't tell brag about their castes anymore since shitskin lower castes pretend to be them and you can't refute it unless you want legal troubles
>All street sweepers and garbage pickers are lower castes as no upper caste apply for it

Rural Areas
>Villages have separate sections - that is all the Brahmins live in a specific part of village, kshatriya on other, Muslims and lower castes usually live in the most distant part of the village unless the village has a muslim majority.
>Caste system is still present in some villages i.e. not allowing dalits into temples, having separate wells etc. etc.

>>Caste system is still present in some villages i.e. not allowing dalits into temples, having separate wells etc. etc.
fuck off! it doesn't happen. The few time some retard does it, it becomes pasted all over the national media.

I said some, didn't I?

Interesting. Do people still keep track of their caste? Do you guys know what caste you would be in?

>some
is an exaggeration.

>shitslin lower castes
are the upper castes white? :)

in an endogamous marriage, it's very easy.

You are the same caste as your parents'.

Also, the government requires you to fill forms specifying your caste.

>white
not white. fairer..
but again there are exceptions to this rule. One of my close friend is a low caste, who is fairer than me.

The educated upper castes is facing reverse caste system in India
Well/over qualified upper castes can't get seats in good colleges or government jobs (which are the most secure jobs in the country) because of reservations, which leads to very few seats alloted to them.

They can't get them even after scoring 90%+ while lower castes have a minimum requirement of scoring 40% to get any job or seat in a good college. Which leads an anger in qualified upper caste people, and realize Caste system is necessary when they are still blamed by lower castes and untouchables even though they are sacrificing their future to make their's better

Keeping track of your caste has nothing to do with caste system, but yes

White, fairer, wheatish (Like Mexicans)

>Like Mexicans
They're shitskins too

Pic related his how wheatish skin looks, though the girl in the pic is actually darker and retarded and its all make up on her face

You're still a shitskin, user.

who denied it? canacuck?

that user wasn't claiming to be white like Agries.

Here, let me say it in terms you can understand
>WE DON"T CARE

India has skin tone from 3 onwards. We call 3 as white/fair.

Seems like you do from your posts.

Nope, I was just answering the previous user who asked if upper castes are white. But you have to be a fucking leaf and wipe unnecessary shit like your countrymen always do.

Oh look an interesting thread discussing cultural differences and look who comes in to shit in it. Big surprise.

India is white

What caste is he?

chota bheem == kshatriya.

Got 93% in 12th got rejected in a college. if you are an upper caste boy, you atleast need 97%.Friend who belongs to sc/st category gets in first allotment in the said college has a 60%.
Fuck my life.

Yes.

> Like if you're born a brahmin you have no choice but to become a priest?

Not really.

> What's more important regarding a person's status, money or caste?

Depends on the environment and socio economic status.

>be brahmin
>don't become priest
Sadly I can't Wololo women into sleeping with me but I have a respectable job.
Also caste determination played a much more important role when my parents were my age. Now they will settle for me marrying ANYONE and giving them a kid. Caste and race don't matter. they just want grandkids desu,

kek, well said bhai

Is this cancer still on pogo?

>cancer
Carefull, this is my childhood you're talking about

>Fuck my life.
Fuck our life.

Got 94 in 12th, Had to do Bsc from DU because couldn't get into a good engineering college, classmates got into IIST and NSIT with 55% because of "Muh SC/ST category"

But now, I feel real good that at least I am not an engineer in this country.

I wish i had studied to become priest, if you are a priest in big temples, you can earn a nice income. More income than an average graduate/post graduate would earn.

Born after 2000?

they don't make any random person priest of a big temple. AFAIK, there's an exam of your knowledge as well.

>have to give up non veg
I was talking to a fellow brahmin back home. He went to a government sponsored vocational training program, studied for pretty much free and became an electrician. Then he networked in the surrounding area and got picked up by a company. Now he gets paid more than an engineer and has a car to drive him places when he works.
>entire generations will grow up watching chota bheem as their only cartoons.
>watched the best of eastern and western animations while growing up in the 90s and 2000s.

no in the 90's
So was mine, along with this, this show is trash but nostalgia is a scary thing

>along with this
were you homeschooled or something that you watched a shit ton of chota bheem while growing up?
I stopped watching cartoons after hungama was forced to shut down shinchan and ryotsu.
>there was a time where you could watch FTV and blue films on late night indian TV
>there was a time you could watch a little japanese boy swing his penis after coming back from school.
Truly a magical age.
Now India is going to the cows.

I was talking about a big temple in my region bro, during festivals they earn like 2 lacs easily . I got connections but have to study in veda padashala since childhood.
>become a vegetarian
Just don't let anyone see you eating meat.
I only watched good cartoon network growing up , fuck cow nation bullshit.
Those were the days.

I totally believe that, there are so many engineers in India and the number is increasing day by day. They have 0 practical knowledge, and are 1000 times more incompetent than the Indian IT workers (Coders) you all have heard stories about. Engineers are working as peons and bus conductors here.

Here is my dad's story:
>Studied till 8th grade
>Learned mechanical work i.e. repairing D.C., A.C. motors and generators
>Became millionaire through it.
>Then was hired by a company at @60,000 INR per month as an engineer because of his repairing skills
>Didn't even have an engineer degree.
>Company created a fake degree for him, as he was saving thousands for them by repairing stuff instead of them buying a new one everytime something break down.

My 8th grader dad with a fake engineer degree earns more than my engineer friends

1990-2000s Indian television was the best television for kids
Pink panther, Tom and jerry, Scooby Doo, He-man, Samurai Jack, Justice League, Batman, Johnny Bravo, bob the builder etc. etc.

Now its just Oggy and cockroaches reruns, Doremon reruns, Chhota bheem reruns all fucking day.

>1990s was the best
This, thank god we banned doraemon

I did not like pogo back then also. Fuck pogo

Bhai I moved to the US to do my undergrad and never looked back. Thank god. After IIT coaching I was pretty much ready to kill myself by running into a mumbai local.
At least my education here will be worth something in a few years. Its sad to see all those IIT boys and girls do nothing with their actual time in school and end up expecting a 1 crore salary package job.

Good for your dad.
My dad went full specialist, became a geologist and did his PHD in geology before working in India. Around the time I was growing up he realized that indian institutes were garbage and started saving up to send me abroad. I thought he was making me sit for SAT as a prank and then he mailed my scores to a bunch of US universities.
>don't let anyone see you
uh, buddy. Its india. Someone's always seeing you.
Also yeah, those were the days. I remember the outrage about shin chan on Times of India.

pogo was alright when it was doing cartoon network reruns

>banned doraemon
now you get extra chota bheem.
Do they even allow it in pakistan?

Dont know, I live in baluchistan they dont air it here

well shit.
its still part of pakistan.
Maybe they don't people lusting after shizuka

Press F to pay respect.

Good for you mate

Other Indian streams are doing fine except engineering and the main reason is, after a guy gets 1Cr. package, there are numerous institute coming into schools telling kids that engineering is easy money. They never tell that only 1 dude out of all India got a 1Cr. package.

They just say that Btech + MBA = 1 Cr., which leads to millions of people doing engineering, most of them through shitty institutes. Engineering student was on their high horses, believing they will be the kings until they finally graduate and realize that a passing certificate from class 12 is way more valuable than their Btech degree.

>his country isn't a monarchy
Nice """"""caste system"""""" you have there.

Doramon ban was more because of it showing the same Indian version of it in Pakistan. New generation of Pakis were automatically speaking and using Hindi because of it, and that caused ban of it and Hindi was gaining popularity against Urdu and parents didn't like it.

>Monarchy
>Having a democracy under a dynasty
>Not having dynasties in a democracy

double whammy baby.

That guy is the reason modi government won. They will win the next elections also because of him.

all prominent Indian and Paki families in politics are corrupt as fuck, though

Should we make this a Rahul Gandhi thread?

YUP!

So prod of our country

>people will vote for a guy who shattered the economy caused untold hardship for the poorest of the poor with demonetization and forcing everyone to join his big ass shakha with Aadhar cards because rahul is a dummy.

Can't wait for 20 more years of modi sarkaar after which people are forced to eat each other while Arnab goswami does his propaganda on every street corner.

Mudi didn't do nuthing wrong.

DEAL WITH IT!

>deal with it
>all those dumbass peasants will be eating each other soon.

I can't wait to shout "Deal with it" when everyone gets fucked in the ass by robots and then brutalized by pandus.

Although Demonetization was a horrible mistake and blunder Modi's government has actually improved things here. Also, Modi is consolidating power in upper house, people know he doesn't have total power in upper house and they will give him a chance until he does.

That's how Indian democracy works, they give about 10-15 years to each party to see whether they are good or bad.

>brutalized by pandus
what if I have an anal rape fetish?

>mfw their are literal teens here praising channels like hungama
Who else born in the 80's and grew up on Doordarshan?

>improved fuel prices go up while crude is low.
>swacch bharat is overrun by streetshitters returning to regular programming.
>economy improvement is literal Jumla.
10-15 years of current modi will take india back to pre 1991 levels.
>grow up in the 80s
>watch TV
surabhi was great. TV was ruined by ekta kapoor and peasant subhumans.

Becoming a priest for the money? That's sounds... not right.

Is this a /desi/-revival?

But that's the reason why people were becoming priests even before Rome. Either because they want money and power, or because they want to preserve it

You still chasing young boipussi?
