Femanons- why do women love shows about true crime and murder so much?

Guys like action scenes and generally violent movies, but why do women obsess about true crime specifically?

it's murderporn

Serial killers are charismatic and dangerous.

What does that even mean?

they're picking up on all the tips for lying and hiding shit more effectively

My mother reads alot of crime novels. But that's really because it seems that's all that gets published by Norwegian authors these days.

Most serial killers are stoic and laconic with low IQs. Gacy was a rare exception, but most are usually quiet and very in charismatic.

Every single married woman without fail has a fantasy about murdering their husband, men generally only get murderous when divorce papers are delivered I think.

I gave this podcast a chance since I liked the stories but it was too annoying to listen to catty girls talk about shoes and makeup for half of it.

Just listen to Sword and Scale for true crime for men.

Women enjoy fantasizing about being raped and murdered from the comfort of their beds, preferably accompanied by a nice box of chocolates.

television shows that employ reenactments of murders provoked by spousal abuse and adultery

>"Uhhhh so there was this guy? And he was gross?"
>"Ohmygod"
>"And he like killed a load of prostitutes or something?"
>"Oh No!!!"
>"And they put him in jail for like...six years?"
>"Ugh. So, how was the traffic in LA today?"

Is this a good friend simulator (female) then?

Serial killers in particular, and violent criminals in general, are individuals who take what they want in spite of society's efforts to restrain them. This is an attractive concept for women, who want a man willing to provide for them and theirs by any means necessary. Of course, the short-sighted instincts of the woman prevent her from immediately seeing that she could very well become a victim of her coveted provider.

That podcast is meh. They spend the first half hour rambling about nothing.

if vocal fry doesn't make you want to kill yourself, yes

They like to fantasize about being raped and murdered and all the sympathy and attention that would get them

yeah I noticed when forensic files plays there's a lot of commercials geared towards women

IMO, there are three reasons why true crime and murder porn are so popular
>people are naturally interested in the macabre
been this way forever, even before television. Dime novels, the grand guignol, ect. its exciting and fascinating for the common person who works a 9-5 mundane job to come home and watch this. crime has always been romantisized, whether its crimianls or cops. Bank robbers, drug dealers, hell fucking pirates were popular. thats why there are also dozens of shows based on hospitals or ER staff
>we like to be scared
going back to crime being romanticized by movies and television, crime like serial killers or rapists hitch a special place. Mafia/gangsters/drug dealers are cool, respected and feared that play by their own rules, who doesnt want to be repsted like that and make money? Murderers are almost animal like in comparison. you cant bribe or talk you way out of a situation with a ted bundy you could like tony soprano. Its the closest thing to a monster under the bed in real life we'd get
>we like to be informed/protected and investigate
ive seen lots of people think they are psychologists because they watch true crime shit all day, I guess its a comforting feeling that you have a leg up then the average joe. Some want to know whos moving into their neighborhood or if any crimes take place close to home. some take it too far and try to offer their insight or help when its not needed

I seen both men and women like this, I guess women more so because they are usually the target of/more vulnerable too these types of crimes. These are just my opinions as a student and a cop

Sometimes it's charming, but their bias and assumptions get in the way and it suddenly becomes uncomfortable to listen to. Also the mixing between the actual episode and their ads is horrendous, I've had to pull my ear buds out because of how loud the ads are in comparison to the actual podcast.

Have you ever browsed r/UnresolvedMysteries or any other forum like that? It's full of soccer moms obsessing over obscure missing person cases. It's really weird

It's got to be a sex thing I think. Women want that power of a man but it is also frightening to them, so serial killer murder stuff is like exercising that part of them that is afraid of men but also indulging in their lust for their power.

That's what I think. Similar thing applies to horses

>Similar thing applies to horses

Actually they just like their cocks

Tried picking up this podcast, had to stop after the first 2 minutes. The women who host it are too unpleasant to tolerate.

Fella here... Like this podcast, but all to often they talk about bull shot for too long before they get to the meat and potatoes. New to the show and kinda skip around so maybe I just picked a few bad episodes in a row.
Pic unrelated, I fed a stray dog,it ran off and a few minutes later it came back with her puppies.
So I murdered them!
By murdered I mean I ran around the parking lot screaming "Tee Hee you can't get me! "

Fuck...
How old are you? Yes, this matters.

No dude, 13 yo girls aren't thinking about huge dicks. Horses are powerful and frightening for a girl which they find themselves strangely drawn to around that time, but horses are also gentle so it is more palatable. Also you ride a horse like this: youtube.com/watch?v=woYaXZo0y6U

It's more that they enjoy straddling a wild beast and controlling it between their thighs

>No dude, 13 yo girls aren't thinking about huge dicks.

Maybe not consciously

You think they don't notice those big old swinging horse dicks?
