...

You do realize if Jerruh leaves, he's taking the league down with him. His team is worth $4 Billion. Most of the teams in the NFL aren't even half that.

The league will be fine. If the Cowboys dissolved tomorrow, the fans would complain for a day but then do something else, because they're Cowboys fans, and there's always another bandwagon.

On the one hand, I hope that happens so I can fucking laugh for years at Chokeboys "fans". On the other hand, I'd rather he stayed there so they can continue their run of mediocrity/futility.

You just want Zeke and Dak for your team

Jerry Jones is an American institution. If they railroad him from the league, the Cowshits will be finished.

The team is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Nobody is paying 4 billion for Cowboys.

He's just mad that the iggles are usurping the sadbois as America's Team.

>implying the Cowboys will be no more if Jerry is gone

dummy

What I hope he does is he pulls out of the NFL and starts his own league. They've done it before with the AFL, USFL, and to some extent the XFL. But that was the NFL was untouchable and competition was one sided, and now the NFL is more fragile than it's ever been.

If you want to know yes I am a cowboy fan, I've lived my whole life in Dallas but never seen a superbowl (born in Oak Cliff in 1996). I've always hated Jerry. To an extent I still hate him but I'm on his side that Goodell needs to be removed and that the league trying to take the team away is completely unjust. The only way he's should lose control is when he relinquishes or dies, and if they take it away from him people in Dallas, the US, and the world will never support the biggest franchise in the world again.

That's my HOS, and I know haters gonna hate, but idgaf.

kys

Jerry Jones is the reason the Cowboys and the NFL are worth as much as they are now. Getting rid of him now would be setting that on fire.

>they've done it before

You left out the part where all of those leagues crashed and burned

>“I do support the commissioner,” Jones stated. “And I support the commissioner for what his position relative to the rules and the sanctions.”

>In May of 2015, Jones praised Goodell’s fairness.

>“I think he’s doing a great job, and I’m a big supporter of his”

>“I’ve certainly had the benefit of his role as commissioner and being penalized in the past. But I’m a big supporter of his. I know one of his best qualities is fairness.”

>In August last year, Jones said, “I’m all for the power of the commissioner.”

Jerry Jones is a hypocritical retard

fans are loyal to the teams, not the owners (unless they are moron cucks)

Jerry Jones despite his public reputation isn't a very powerful owner.

No I didn't, I said that was when the league was more powerful ergo they couldn't survive. If they made a a new league now it'd be more likely to challenge. Especially if they got Jones, and even trump backing.

>owns most valuable franchise in the world
>only owner to publicly say he doesn't support Goodell
>sued NFL for rights to support Pepsi and won

Yea he doesn't have that much power or ability to produce change

Just because he talks to the media a lot doesn't mean he has influence or power with the owners and league.

The fact that he had to sue the NFL to get what he wanted is just more evidence of that.

To be fair, the USFL would have been just fine if Trump hadn't tried to force a merger with the NFL via his anti-trust lawsuit against the NFL. It's funny to think that even without Trump the USFL would have won the case but because of Trump being Trump they were awarded fucking a fucking dollar in judgements.

The NFL was going to give a discount to their broadcast partners, Jones came in, brought Fox to the negotiating tables and basically got a billion dollar deal done, he also helped overthrow the old guard of NFL owners and got Paul Tagliabue elected commisioner, he is the reason the Rams are in the LA
No power? Kek

Hahahaha.

This CBA dispute is going to be INSANE!

Fuck Goodell.

>Jerry revives the XFL and takes the Cowboys with him
>No more suspensions for players
>Allow steroids
>Skimpy cheerleaders
>Nicknames on jerseys
>Let 18 year-old kids play instead of having to go to college for three years
>Everything good about football without all of the faggotry
>Also make Colin Kaepernick the QB of some liberal fart sniffing team and bring in the nigs but also allow patriotic fans to throw cups of piss at him during games

Also the reason the Raiders were able to move to Las Vegas. He was instrumental in securing finances for Mark Davis to move the team.

Jerry Jones also Co-own Legends Hospitality with the Yankees. They sell suites and concessions for a number of teams in the league. Jerry is powerful because he makes money for himself and the other owners. The owners aren't idiots. They're not dumb enough to bite the hand that feeds them.

fuck both Goodell and Jones. Who gives a fuck

>owns most valuable franchise in the world
>Thinks this means anything if he goes against 20 owners whose combined wealth is 15 times his own

>but also allow patriotic fans to throw cups of piss at him during games

shitting on another citizen's right to free speech is "patriotism" now?

My team has both a better qb and rb :)

He definitely played a big role in the growth of the league, but now the Rooneys and Maras have most the power. Jerry Jones is getting pushed away by the other owners in favor of Goodell. If he had power he would be leading the charge against Goodell with the other owners joining on.

/underage

Yes, that's why it's called free speech.

The theoretical possibility of a parallel league is interesting, assuming it's led by Jones and the Cowboys are the first team, how would it work?

>spring/summer league to not overlap with the nfl
>outside existing markets
>use college or other state owned stadiums like in oakland
>secure a broadcast tv deal by giving an network an equity interest
>less rules
>speed up the game

what happened to civility and respect? and no, taking a knee during an anthem is not the same as literally pouring urine on someone (ffs that protest isn't even about the flag and military)

>no comeback
>uses assumption as a point in an argument

Thanks for your input

And who would join? You realize this action might take place because a majority of the other owners want it done.

Nobody is going to watch a league with USFL tier teams, no NFL tier players will want to be there either.

If you were underage in 2008 you're underage now.

> using our nation's legal system to resolve dispute is bad
> nfl is shook they sue him.
> this makes nfl string
Nice non logic soy boy. Keep sipping the Clinton kool aid

Like NFL players are citizens to be modeled after. And the people at the games pay their salaries by supporting them, so yea they can get mad if they want.

Gerald McCoy-
>He'll get how much: 5-0 annually? That means every year! 5-0 million. Shoot! Oh man. I might have to hug some of that money out of him. [McCoy infamously gave Goodell a giant hug in the 2010 draft and started a giant hugging spree.] I don't really have a comment on that. But I will say this: Fifty million dollars is a lot of money, whether you get it once or every year. That's a lot of money.

Tahir Whitehead-
>"He wants to get paid more, well, so do the players. I want to get paid more, you know. You want to go, I believe that would be doubling his or something like that. Like, well, I want an increase, I want a bump. Let’s talk about that. You know, the guys actually going out there and risking it. Let’s talk about our health care and increasing that and so on and so forth. That’s all I have to say about that."

Greg Olson-
>Fifty million. Sounds good to me. That’s a lot of money. The private jet sounds better. I’d take less money and keep the plane. They didn’t ask me to be the commissioner yet. It sounds great to me."

Gooddell is fucked.

people watch college football, but this is also why a second league will fail, there's already a secondary league with inferior talent

Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco lol

A second league has succeeded in the past desu

Cowboys will be fine just like they were before Jones arrived. Jones is the one who's gonna get JUST'D

The AFC is still a failure

...that has more fans and gets more media attention.

Stay mad, babby conference.

Just you fucking wait til the pats become irrelevant again just you fuCKING WAIT

>...that has more fans and gets more media attention.
Is that why CBS cried to the NFL to get more NFC games this year to broadcast for higher ratings?

If you support Goodell in the Jones vs Goodell fight you are a worthless cuck. I absolutely do hope Jerry btfo of Goodell.

>hurr pay me 50 mil a year and give me life long access to a private jet and healthcare

Fuck that shit.

>people watch college football
Because they are the elite amateur league, and people know top players from there will become top pros.

the league is fucked but NOT because of jones

because streaming/cord-cutting has killed the big tv revenue deals where the nfl gets the lion's share of it's cash and younger generations don't care about the NFL as much

the next round of cba starts in 2020

but the TV contracts end in 2022

the players are retarded if they think they're going to get more money when the pot will get smaller
the owners are retarded if they think the networks are going to pay them more

but the players union is more retarded than the owners and will try to fight for MUH GOODELL HAS TOO MUCH POWER instead of securing their long-term future

the owners will win again. the nba, nhl, and mlb unions are laughing at the nfl

CBS never gets NFC games. They know AFC fans will watch regardless of who's playing because they're not casuals, so they want to tap into that NFC fanbase market.

they've had 3 NFC vs NFC games this season so far.

you can only tolerate a diva for so long

>people at the games pay their salary.

This is rich but wrong.

The sponsors pay the salary it's the reason why there are so many god damn commercials during the game.

No viewers, no sponsors though

*kneels*

Doesn't matter what the players say. There are more scrubs hoping for that minimum contract than there are those that can wait out a work stoppage.

49ers died when Eddie D was forced to give up the team

>a liberal talking about freedom of speech

oh im laffin

>Those things really bother me because this business wouldn’t operate without the players.
I love when retards say shit like this. The league wouldn't operate without management either. Who's going to own and staff the stadiums, negotiate broadcasting contracts, broadcast the games, etc?

Not necessarily, I don't know if you've noticed Budweiser and red bull will sponsor anything.

Also do you realistically believe people are gonna stop watching football to the point where all major sponsors will pull adds?

If you do then I bet you believe Obama isn't half white

I'm interested in the 49ers' owner change. Why did Eddie step down?

There may be a mandatory buyout provision in some contract he signed with the other owners. It would be litigated for years though.

I want Jerry to fight dirty. I want to see just what levels of darkness he's capable of.

>Jones ousting the NFL for giving into Goodells demands

He even knows Roger is ruining the league

Wasn't it always?

>the NFL is completely imploding and the owners are now turning on each other
I fucking love this timeline

Remember in the beginning of Godfather Part II when Michael Corleon is meeting with a member of the Nevada gaming commision for a license to run a casino?

Kinda like that, only the governor of Louisiana was demanding 400,000 dollars for Eddie Debartolo to run a gambling riverboat. Only there was an audio recording of him paying the governor and the federal investigators were going to indict him. And the league was going to force him to sell so he gave the team to his sister in exchange for a realty management company. He loved the 49ers.

The second Eddie Debartolo buys another team, is the second I tell the 49ers to fuck off.

>NFL discusses next strategy for lowering their own ratings

Pats fan here. Go get em Jerry!
