I imagine most of the old crowd left with the mod ordeal anyway.

>tfw the mods will never face justice for what they did

remember when the mods allowed fun?

pls come back mootykins

>being proud of having wasted a fair share of your life in this shithole

Why did it all have to go so wrong, lads?

Will any threads besides generals and game threads be allowed again?

>fair share
hey, i've only been here 9 years. that's only a 1/3 of my life

>being that old and still posting here

I gave up and mostly switched to Reddit 2 years ago. The straw that finally broke the camel's back for me was when I was making webm's in an NFL game thread. Someone requested a webm of a play right before halftime. I told the user, I'll make the webm as soon as I come back from buying some beer at the convenience store. Came back, posted the webm, "you are banned: reason - off topic." Fuck the mods.

>implying you won't

fuck don't remind me pham

>tfw 2007 and counting

>moot left
>we're still here

i really wish hiro would just shut down the site

>tfw >yuropoor at the hot dog eating contest
>UCF tripfag

fucking canvas really ruined him, should have brought 4chins down at the same time

I remember the great reveal after flags when Aussies turned out to be behind 90% of the Yurop v Amerifat shitposting

at least we found out Canadians are absolutely WORTHLESS posters

We didn't deserve him. But who can blam him, we came close to ruining his life several times.

>twitter.com/hiroyuki_ni/status/930987813746638848
>Complain about people's salary going down
>Employ mods for free on his website

Flags are the reason I come here

>tfw I miss friendly banter and late night threads with Americans

feels weird, mang.

You now get banned for making fun of sports

meh I remember him asking for help with a car purchase on /o/. felt weird that someone in his position would ask for used car help instead of just buying the ballest g-class available (IIRC he settled on some wrangler)

>sports banter is a bannable offence

they really MUST have their pay docked

Why are event bowl threads banned? They mostly occur during the offseason when there's literally nothing to talk about, so where's the fucking harm?

...

>having fun
>on Sup Forums
I don't think so!

They are SEETHING

Best day of my life

flags have made everybody so hostile. when you try to have friendly banter, it always break down into /polint/ nationalism.

everyone knows moot is pure, not even the shrieking harpies could touch him

that's more of a consequence of the userbase changing, it really does feel like youtube comments sections sometimes

the aussie, he starts war he fuels war

Yea it's fucking awesome to LARP and pretend we're not all Brazilians

>when u realise you're the old creep who arounds with the kids

True. What's also interesting is that activity on Sup Forums has been increasing, while Sup Forums's activity went downhill.

That's the thing. Moot actually interacted with his users and cared about the site. Hiroshimoot couldn't give two fucks.

If you think this is a shithole you are free to leave.

Whats the point of janitors? All they can do is delete threads but not actually ban, so shitposters just shitpost some more while the janny waits for a mod to get on and bother banning the shitposter.

Sup Forums doesn't have enough vocal users or a user base united enough to make a change

Sup Forums feels pretty much the same as it did 5 years ago, just with more Sup Forums shit these days. Still the same contrarian opinions, still the same "banter" etc.

Sup Forums was allowed to keep a thread up about whatever the fuck the new neogaf drama was so we should have a general off topic thread too. albeit it'd probably just devolve into angry political talk anyway
kek just 2 years ago it felt like there is no way to keep up with a big gamethread and now you can keep up 3 at the same time

Checked.

>tfw Hiro permited one change to each board and fags on Sup Forums removed one general in a sea of dozens

Look at the archive's statistics and you'll see Sup Forums's activity has been declining over the years. And it's really not the same. Where are muh funposting threads?

Mods used to be moot's friends, while janitors, at least on paper, came from the board itself. Moot simply didn't want strangers to have too much power.
Ironically, when muting was introduced, janitors could be more powerful than mods because they could block you from all boards regardless of the rule you broke.

The biggest shift for me was Juverntus/serie A getting popular and Ronaldo replacing Messi as the most popular player here.

>Hiro permited one change to each board and fags on Sup Forums removed one general in a sea of dozens

and completely destroyed /asp/ as a result

Well I mean in terms of the average user and the posting itself, not the content itself. Mods delete any funposting threads anyway

>post yfw when you only heard about flagless sp but you werent here

...

>Yuro vs Murica threads

Admit it Australia, it was always you making these threads.

This.
It's an addiction. I hate all of you and I hate this place, but I've got nowhere else to go.

I stopped posting here for like 3 years but came back. There is no better time killer at work than arguing about insignificant shit with sports fans

can remember those days, based bowl threads (london riots and based upinder), price is right/pointless threads, lots of comfy threads, seem to remember Sup Forums taking over metta world peace's tinychat as well at one point

it's easy social interaction desu. when I was in college I browsed much more rarely then immediately after I return home and find all my friends have left I go for 8+ hours a day. and when I had a gf my posting time lowered significantly, she leaves and puh I come back

to be honest, i just miss powerrankings

>kek just 2 years ago it felt like there is no way to keep up with a big gamethread and now you can keep up 3 at the same time
lel true

Oh, you may be right there.

>you now remember when multiple MOTD threads were needed

I miss the jude posting fuckmachines. if it's you please come back Sup Forums doesn't deserve you

the MOTD threads were great, seemed to be really active and you'd almost get through one thread by the time it had started
also you now remember /606/ threads being pretty popular

>mfw secret hue

By the way, thanks for upholding ass posting, Romania.

I always wonder where everyone went. /brit/ surely but can imagine that some actually made it and were able to leave. But it's good to know some posters are still around.

Are you stupid? In 2012 it was non-stop shitposting, it was so bad other boards would post on Sup Forums just commenting and then THAT thread would get 100+ replies

the universal feeling

Talking about motd, I want to know why they start decently fast and then die after the first international break.

what? I haven't done it in months, or is this scorn?

...really? My memory is tricking me then. Definitely wasn't scorn.

International break kills all spirit. The first MOTD thread of this season was great.

Golden age Sup Forums was quite possibly my most enjoyable era of Sup Forums.

I main Sup Forums and Sup Forums. I really don't know why I still come to Sup Forums at all. It just isn't fun anymore. Barely any OC, fun is banned, non-stop political discussions, and low effort shitposting. I want to go back in time.

I only do >Tfw no gf threads rarely now

also please visit

>Barely any OC, fun is banned, non-stop political discussions, and low effort shitposting.

none of those are as bad as the wave of political refugees from youtube and reddit who reply to very seriously to every single low effort shitpost or obvious ironic post

I'm talking about the users. It feels like a lot of people here have been here for a long time compared to other boards and besides the odd Sup Forumsdrone, the style of poster is the same.

someone needs to update this comic

also post tortanic Sup Forums took a dive in quality but it's still not as bad as the thing we have today

I recommend /vr/ for the only decent vidya discussion tho

I think it's because the people who left, left early. Now we don't get many new users, and the ones who are left don't leave.
Which is why I am very worried about the world cup, I don't think we can take a month of non stop immigrants from Sup Forums and Sup Forums coming here for the big event.

Agreed. I think the mods are in on it. Other than this thread, my only other post today was on Sup Forums where someone posted a thread where some retard started posting Sup Forumsshit and I told him to fuck off back to Sup Forums. My comment was deleted but his are still up.

TORtanic was a huge blow since every fucking newfag tries to replicate it for every new big title. But I think the /vg/ split was a bigger culprit. Before the split, you had to have a Grade A shitpost for your thread to survive lest it quickly fall to page 15 and 404. After the split, the void the generals left were filled with low effort shitposting threads.

Euro 2016 threads were fucking terrible.

Ah, sorry man you're not stupid :(

Gamethreads are already a mess. I realise to an extent it was like this before but every post now just seems to be trying to get attention and (you)s. The WC will be terrible with "The next poster is a faggot" and gore and shit like that constantly.

I mean in the World Cup I'm just gonna come here after the match to see the reaction, but still.

Sup Forums is easily the most degraded board. and of course the mods are in on it since the gook jew profits from the increase in traffic and letting console wars and political shitposting flourish is a great boom to Sup Forums's population

I'm also one of the few people who agrees /vg/ was a mistake, couple of LoL and mass effect generals were easily ignored

>2011
>posting on Sup Forums

I remember when filename threads were fresh and exciting

Your life must be pretty pathetic if you get nostalgic over posting pictures of frogs on a children's website.

Post 2013 it should just be a graveyard

Ah okay. pls post ass again, can't be the only one.

At least we had yfmoc

More than the threads themselves I am worried about the aftermath on the board.

>Sup Forums
>act as retarded as possible
>reddit
>be on your best behavior 100% of the time

Why is there no website that's a fair middle ground? It's either a shitty free-for-all or heavily modded gulag.

>Which is why I am very worried about the world cup, I don't think we can take a month of non stop immigrants from Sup Forums and Sup Forums coming here for the big event.

but luigi certainly you take great pleasure in the 51235th shitpost about how france isn't white

>reply to very seriously to every single low effort shitpost or obvious ironic post
ok this one actually makes me mad

This. I honed my shitposting on Sup Forums before the /vg/ split and when dub/armor/furry porn derails were still allowed. It made me craft quality shitposts that that got so many replies so quickly, no attempt to derail it worked.

>act as retarded as possible
Speak for yourself, m8.

...question is, can it be worse than it is already? (also reminder to read Simone Weil, LRL)

>over posting pictures of frogs
wat

Any website where you have permanent identity makes you act decent, especially if there's negative repercussions for being a cunt. Twitter is a middle ground I guess?

>...question is, can it be worse than it is already?
It always can.

>The Need for Roots is regarded as Weil's best known work and has provoked a variety of responses, from being described as a work of "exceptional originality and breadth of human sympathy" to "a collection of egregious nonsense."
Looks promising.

>being proud of sharing the board with tripfags and autism incarnate.
NO!
Nigger it was absolute awfull.

Bog Sim shitposting was funny
UTV thing was weird but I always liked how dour and pathetic he seemed.
Ryan Scholes thing was so stupid
Can't remember anyone else

Mauled is the only trip I see here that I remember from back then

>I always liked how dour and pathetic he seemed.
He was a prick.
