I don't know how he passes a department physical, but he is a strong character. Knows what he wants out of the system and the best way to go about getting it.

this is why the show is so good, it would have been easy to write landsman as a two dimensional incompetent suck up cartoon character boss but instead he is also shown to care about his detectives, is quite capable at interrogation and gives one helluva eulogy
