Only because it’s you
Morning
Any plans for the day?
Working
Might go to the movies later, now I have to make sense of what I've been taught in my classes yesterday and try not to collapse
What about you?
madainn mhath (its 4am here)
Finally had a full night's sleep. A full 9 hours.
>Lux thread
Well that's a first.
Should probably study
Watching the entire series of Are you Afraid of the Dark all day long.
Study what?
Irish tax system, capital markets and instruments, and a company with a graduate program I want to apply for

Jesus Christ. I forgot there was an Irish episode.

Another tax and onus of motivation for bootleg alcohol.
Nanny state SOON
>minimum unit pricing
A pretty clear ploy to assist the publicans rather than it having anything to do with health benefits. Vintners supposedly have a lot of high ranking politicians in their pocket so this is really just about shifting where alcohol is consumed and who profits rather than reducing usage.
>introduction of labelling on alcohol products
Sensible although any alcohol I purchase has % and calorie count clearly labelled.
>The bill will also make it illegal to market or advertise alcohol in a manner that is appealing to children or that makes it look glamourous
Badly needed but it appears it won't extend to alcohol sponsorship in sport which is the main offender.
>new college timetable expects me to be in from 4 AM until 6 PM every Wednesday
>don't even live in the same county
Drop out
what
they could have edited the Guinness advert a little better
Think this college lad is someones gimmick desu
I've got nobody else to talk to about my extremely disorganised college, so I sometimes post about it on /éire/. It's not much of a gimmick.
>in from 4 AM
You mean you have to get up at 4 to commute in, right?
What college?
According to the timetable, my first practical on a Wednesday starts at 4 AM. It's probably just some mistake the college made when making the timetable though. Fuck if I'm going to get the bus in at 2 AM and stay until the evening.
If you must know, it's ITB.
I too am on the bus four hours a day
I didn't even know that was a thing.
Time to vote FG me thinks.
>motivation for bootleg alcohol
>breaking the law
>any alcohol I purchase has % and calorie count clearly labelled
I assume they want to go down the same road as cigarettes and have health warning on them, as opposed to calorie counts?
>pretty clear ploy to assist the publicans rather than it having anything to do with health benefits
My understanding, as I said the other night, is that FG, FF and Lab support this. Alan Kelly and others made the point that the aim is to drive up the price of low cost alcohol you buy in supermarkets and lower the price of alcohol you can purchase in a controlled environment such as a pub or restaurant.
>first practical on a Wednesday starts at 4 AM
Ya, that sounds like a mistake.
I would imagine it's a mistake considering most lecturers wouldn't be willing to come in that early let alone students that take any opportunity to skip off.
You're the stupid one for actually thinking you would have to do that in college.
Did you watch it?
I marathoned the first episode. Was it good?
>lower the price of alcohol you can purchase in a controlled environment such as a pub or restaurant.
That's never going to happen.
I never thought I would, retard. I just thought it was a funny observation.
>I assume they want to go down the same road as cigarettes and have health warning on them, as opposed to calorie counts?
It says the regulation will include both. "Labels on alcohol products will contain health warnings and advice, details of the amount of pure alcohol each beverage contains and a calorie count."
It just seems like odd motivation when the last two points seem to be on everything already.
>Alan Kelly and others made the point that the aim is to drive up the price of low cost alcohol you buy in supermarkets and lower the price of alcohol you can purchase in a controlled environment such as a pub or restaurant.
Yes though I doubt their motivation in doing so is to reduce alcohol intake. I wonder what the effect on drink driving would be if our drinking culture shifted away from drinking in the home once again.
>That's never going to happen
Exactly.
>failed one module last year in college now I have basically a whole year off while repeating one module
what the fuck am I gonna do with all this time
Drop out. Get a certificate. Get a trade.
>seems like odd motivation when the last two points seem to be on everything already
But the first one isn't already on stuff? In which case why is odd? And perhaps the calorie labelling is not already a law and companies just do it anyways and doing this just ensures it is written into law.
>if our drinking culture shifted away from drinking in the home once again
But our drinking culture hasn't shifted to the home for the most part. Most people, or at least younger ones, just drink a load of cans at home and then head afterwards. That's what this bill is aiming to stop.
Surely half the country isn't at home drinking a pack of cans by themselves?
>what the fuck am I gonna do with all this time
Study some other things or get some work experience, I would suggest.
Getting work experience would be really good, if only for a few months. Don't have to spend the entire year doing it.
Think I'm going to start making my own whiskey lads.
What do they mean by minimum unit pricing?
A minimum price by unit of alcohol? That wouldn't affect alcohol that isn't low cost (Aldi cider, Tesco vodka) such as established brands like Heineken would it?
It would affect those brands when on sale though only slightly.
thejournal.ie
too tired to get into the shower
>And perhaps the calorie labelling is not already a law and companies just do it anyways and doing this just ensures it is written into law.
ABV listing is required by EU legislation and nutritional information and ingredients by the food safety authority as applies to all food and drink. Maybe it is for specific legal clarification but I thought it was odd to list it as a strength of the proposal when it will have no foreseeable practical impact on anyone.
>Surely half the country isn't at home drinking a pack of cans by themselves?
Not cans, but wine and spirits apparently. Remember, pre-drinking and going to a club is just a young person thing. Older people and couples especially are likely to just open a bottle of wine and stay at home.
drinkaware.ie
I see. Thanks.
>Older people and couples especially are likely to just open a bottle of wine and stay at home
Presumably that won't be affected by this bill, as it only targets the cheapest of alcohol though.
It's priced by alcohol units though so even a €19 spirit bottle could be considered below cost.
>€19 spirit bottle could be considered below cost
Won't affect people who wish to drink wine or have another light drink at home though.
watching live action chinese dramas again
Couldn't remember how to get the N64 working properly again, the channel it was on was too static-y. Ended up playing Galaxy 2 and remembering how slow and slightly awkward the game is.
do any of you guys ever buy stuff off adverts? Dublin specifically? I wanna buy something but every time I've done it in the past its always some sketchy as fuck lad
>tfw civ v mods don't work on linux
>do any of you guys ever buy stuff off adverts
As far as I can recall, no.
>dropped out of college in 2015 without completing my final year
>just received a certificate of completion in the mail along with second class honors
uh...sure I'll take it. Guess I'm not gonna be a NEET forever after all
No, anytime I've looked for stuff on that or donedeal the prices have never seemed very good. What are you trying to buy?
amplifier
I heard a similar story about a lad in America. He got his degree in the post in second year after handing in some payment forms, they must've put them in the wrong pile or something. He never came back to college and he only admitted that he never earned his degree decades later when he had a list of confessions published in his local paper after he died.
Yeah I've bought a couple things but I've mostly sold a lot there.
Never really had much of an issue with adverts.
It's donedeal that always seems dodgy as fuck to me.
What mods? Only major ones I've used were to tone down happiness so I could found more than two cities without needing tons of luxuries.
This is a stressful image.
like groupon or something? I've used groupon but it I've had a situation where the restaurant refused to honor it so I ended up paying full price because I didn't feel like arguing
>What mods
Vox Populi (formerly Community Balance) and the No Quitters (MP balancing) mod.
Congrats!
Headache again.
take paracetamol.
Lost my pointy tweezers.
Feel really tired even though I've had my coffee and been sleeping well lately. Should I be worried?
I'm still in bed, it's a bit dreary out makes me feel sleepy all day too
Consume more stimulants.
Gotta do the washing, ironing, cook the dinner, clean the bathroom, hoover, and change the sheets.
Full time mam ^_^ except I have no kids.
Wtf does nobody in this house appreciate any of my hard work?
What kind of hard work?
I meant the stream but yes
Every day I'm reminded of at least one of the hundreds of embarrassing things I've done since I was a kid. Even within recent years I still manage to embarrass myself constantly.

UNITED AGAINST FASCISM
I approve of this post.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way and has these near constant memories
It makes me cringe and physically retract. Always happens when I'm driving, in the shower, brushing my teeth. So I just bang my head off the mirror.
I also have a physically reaction. I probably look like a nutter cursing at myself in public or suddenly grimacing and the like
Just noticed that I had all the Civ V DLC to begin with
>Just noticed that I had all the Civ V DLC to begin with
Really? That's strange, the game should have started if that was the case.
I believe it had something to do with the fact that I couldn't see Jaggy's chat messages and he couldn't see mine
Does anybody like cities:skylines?
>anybody like cities:skylines
I played it when it came out, was grand. Not a big city builder autist tbqh, more a fan of general strategy.
I'm really into it. I've built huge cities. It's a lot of fun especially with mods. Shame its not multiplayer.
Seems most people here are into different games than I am.
You were either in the wrong room or there was some weird split instancing bug going on. We swapped rooms 3 or 4 times that day and I never saw you join the final room. From my perspective the error was because a game was trying to be started with an empty seat although Poi said he saw you in the room so maybe it was a glitch.
found it! it was underneat my keyboard.
Same. I'm after sleeping for the last three hours.
Anyone have the rest of these GAA anime grill shitpost pics?
Say no more senpai
Looking for the Tipperary one in particular if it exists

Going to go for a short walk.
Why is Ahagon Dublin?
