Väinämöinen
He was a wizard that threatened a guy to get his sister as his wife. The sister drowned herself rather than married him. He later got rejected by a northern qt, so he stole a machine that can produce infinite wealth from her family but it broke on the way back. When he got home a Jesus told him to fuck off so he left.

Bajlozi is a monster from the sea.
He is supposed to be a personification of Turks and is all black

> He usually comes from the sea in order to bring destruction and oppression to the people. Bajlozi always imposes taxes on the common people and if they don’t pay he forces them to give up their home or their women.

based

Boitatá is a giant snake, kind of a Brazilian dragon, it hunts people in the jungles

Normal Politician: Georgian Mythological creature not seen since at least XIV cc. He would act for the interests of his people and wouldnt abuse his office for personal gains.

According to the Aztec myth of the five suns en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Suns there were four ages before the current one:
>a flooded world full of devonian creatures ruled by the sun of blood
>a world of giant creatures like dinosaurs ruled by the sun of the night
>a world of raining fire ruled by the sun of youth
>a corrupted world full of monkeys and other degenerated hominids ruled by the snake of beauty, i.e. Quetzalcoatl

Most creatures in the fifth world are gods-stars that fight against the god of war (Huitzilopochtli) to devour the sun of change.
Like the other god-stars, Huitzilopochtli fights against Death itself to bring people with him in the afterlife, in this case he only saves the bravest people, those who died in the battlefield or sacrificed so they can join his fight (also women who died giving birth, since they also sacrificed themselves and fought against death by bringing the child to this earth).
This god's legendary weapon is the Xiuhcoatl (Coatl "serpent-ray" of Xiuh "fire-beauty-time") which allows him to bind the sun with other ages-dimensions and make it move (change).

We've got our own dragons as well

>Most creatures in the fifth world are gods-stars

I approve of this

the Tarasque eat people

>anime style doesn't allow for black hair, light brown skin and brown eyes
wut? all they had to do was draw her in the style of this to avoid looking like total wannabes.

Katalla - man-eating giant

It wasn't drawn by Mexicans, neither was pictured

Ochokochi - half-man, half-goat.Of evil nature, if the hunter shot him more than once, he would need to shoot him 40 times to kill him.

Hijet
Shadow creatures, you shouldnt step on them

>Hazelnut picker """"""""mythology"""""""""""

You have quite some mythologies
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgian_mythology

Nahui-Ollin - We are the inhabitants of this world. This world will be destroyed by earthquakes (or one large earthquake).

i like Russian mythology and traditional Slavic paganism. so sad there isn't too much info on this subject, we were Christianiz'd in 988
My favorite god is Rod and the fact that the word "nature" - priróda came from "pri Róde", "near, under Rod"

Isn't Róde from rod(kind, tribe, genome)

Dali(დალი) - The goddess of the hunt. She is also known as Dæl. She was believed to have extraordinary beauty, with long golden hair and radiant white skin. She dwells high up in the mountains where she watches over and protects wild animals. She sometimes shared animals with hunters, as long as they respect her rules by not hunting more than their needed amounts or taking aim at animals that are her manifestations. In some myths, she entered in intimate relations with a hunter, and warned him not to reveal their relationship at the risk of death from being turned to stone, like those who failed to keep their promises to her along with their hounds. Ochokochi (ოჭოკოჩი) was so infatuated with her, that he often tried to pursue her, but the mortal hunters who visit her forests often thwart his attempts to catch her. She is the mother of the heroAmirani. InSamegrelo, she is named as "Tkashi-Mapa", the Queen of the Forest.[

The goddess of fire and volcanoes

Turkish mythology on its own does not exist. It's tied to Turkic mythology.
However, we do have our own mythological stories but we share it with other Oghuz people (Gagauzes, Azerbaijanis and Turkmens).

Oghuz Khagan, the guy who united Turks and fought against Romans, Chinese, Mongols. Had 6 sons and each son represents 3 tribes of Oghuzes.
Whenever Oghuz was in trouble in his battles against the others, a Gray Wolf (who was actually the god in the wolf form) led him.

Then we have Ashina's story. The Chinese/Mongols/Tunguses etc win a battle against the Turks and started to genocide all of them, only a boy with no legs and arms survived. A she-wolf rescued him from the battle field, took him to a cave. Then years later the boy married the wolf and the wolf gave birth to 9 Turks.

chances are 90% of Russian paganism simply evolved or became part of folkloric traditions, rituals and the like which survived well into the modern era.

Mamberi - Lord of wolves, would do pic related if villagers behaved well.

yes, many words came from this god's name
rod (an ethnicity, a bloodline)
priroda (nature)
rodit' (to give a birth)
narod (nation)
rodnoy (native)
etc etc

all the idols of the heathens are devils

Prenda, God of Love and Fertility
Her festivals are are still celebrated in the north
After Christianisation she became linked to the figure of St.Anna, that's why St.Anna is called Shën Prenda in Albanian

SETE FLECHAS (Seven Arrows)

The Caboclo Sete Flechas was an Indian native of the Patachós Tribe, which was located in the Dark Wood at the time (between 200 and 300), where today it is the State of Bahia, it is a Caboclo that comes in the Oxóssi's Irradiation, and can be crossed to come in the sending of all Orixás, what I will explain now is that it gives meaning to what I say:
The Caboclo Seven Arrows received its Arrows of 7 Orixás, at the command of the Father Oxalá, as follows:
* Oxossi placed an Arrow on his right Arm, arrow of health to pour the healing balms upon us.
* Ogum has placed an arrow on his left arm, defense arrow so that we are defended from all material and spiritual malice.
*Xango crossed an arrow in his chest to defend us from the injustices of mankind.
* Iansan crossed an arrow in his back, to defend us from all the betrayals of our enemies.
* Iemanjá placed an arrow on his right leg, to open our material ways and the path of spirituality.
* Oxum placed an arrow on his left leg, to wash our ways, to enlighten our spirits and to defend us from all forces contrary to the will of God.
* Omulu / Obaluayê delivered in his sacred hands the arrow of the superior astral force, to distribute to mankind the Divine force of faith and truth.
The Caboclo Sete Flechas has a deep knowledge of the herbs and leaves of our flora and the flora of other countries, works in healing, a great winner of great spiritual demands and, as some people say, it is Caboclo Mandingueiro, that is, destined to his children and his protégés, manipulator of the energies of the Astral and does not get "stuck" to any vibration, he works within all the vibrations with the Falangeiros that he commands.

i wish we had some epic folklore too

...

Can I catch it with a Pokeball?

Lugat

Sons of the giant, Kalev, have a very huge part in the mythology of Baltic Finnish people, especially for Estonians. Geography was explained as their doings. Many great people in Finnish and Estonian mythologies were told to be their descendants. The family of Kaleva are in some traditions depicted as the enemies of family of Untamo and stories tell that they had titanic battles between each other.

W-We have culture! Not much mythology, but we have a very distinct culture.

The Midnight Screamer.

If you are chilling in your small Salvadoran town at midnight when you hear some blood-curdling screams, you better hide 'cause the good ol' Griton de Medianoche will fuck your shit.

>it's a boy
kys

Forgot spoopy image

>That JoJo stance

Is that like our llorona?

what really?

La Llorona is spoopier.

Is it true that bees were sacred in Albanian?

Still are. We bury them when they die

Not necessarily, I do like the aesthetics better tho, llorona is based on the Aztec Cihuateteo which are more wraiths than banshees

Näkkis and Vetehinens lurk in the waters. The former has the form of a beautiful maiden and the latter of an old man. According to some stories they can teach you how to play violin.

Forgot to mention that they drown people. You can swim safely if before swimming you throw rocks in the water and scream "näkki to land and i to the water!" You need to do a reversed version when going back to shore.

We've also got the Ahuizotl, straight up man eatying monster that lurks in bodies of water

Britannia is an allegory, not folklore

She was also the Goddess of the Islands, i.e. ruler of them.

-depicted as a Goddess-- per the Wikipedia article, as also was Roma itself or Hispania for instance, not an object of actual worship.

"a frieze discovered at Aphrodisias in 1980 shows a bare breasted and helmeted female warrior labelled BRITANNIA, writhing in agony under the heel of the emperor."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britannia

I don't think the Romans ever meant her as more than a poetic representation of a province.

Nokk, shit tries to drown you yo

But can yours teach people to play violin?

It dates back to Norse times here, so anything regarding violins would be a later addition

why are they all black?

Same reason the groom wears a black suit in his wedding (death/disaster sign)

a...amateraru

Too bad. Ours are cooler then.

thats quite a reach your attempting

Qipulls are evil spirits/demons

We got something else that teaches people to use the violin, called Fossegrim

How do you say Rumpelstiltskin in your language?
Here it is Shkurtashtrembaluqi

What does Fosse mean?

Please tell me more.

Południca (Lady Midday) aka Noonwraith
Poludnitsa is a mythical character common to the various Slavic countries of Eastern Europe. She is referred to as Południca in Polish, Пoлyдницa (Poludnitsa) in Serbian, Bulgarian and Russian, Polednice in Czech, Poludnica in Slovak, Připołdnica in Upper Sorbian, and Пoлoзничa (Poloznicha) in Komi, Chirtel Ma in Yiddish, Poludnitsa is a noon demon in Slavic mythology. She can be referred to in English as "Lady Midday" or "Noon Witch". She was usually pictured as a young woman dressed in white that roamed field bounds. She assailed folk working at noon causing heatstrokes and aches in the neck, sometimes she even caused madness.

Poludnitsa, who makes herself evident in the middle of hot summer days, takes the form of whirling dust clouds and carries a scythe or shears; most likely the shears would be of an older style, not akin to modern scissors. She will stop people in the field to ask them difficult questions or engage them in conversation. If anyone fails to answer a question or tries to change the subject, she will cut off their head or strike them with illness. She may appear as an old hag, a beautiful woman, or a 12-year-old girl, and she was useful in scaring children away from valuable crops. She is only seen on the hottest part of the day and is a personification of a sun-stroke.

It's not really so much folklore as it is real life lore, I live in Southern California and go to the Mojave desert pretty much every weekend. You learn a lot about fucked up shit in the area, like Desert Rats, which are homeless people that just somehow survive out in the middle of fucking nowhere. You can't leave your stuff unattended because of them in the desert. They can rob and attack people on occasion.
