I didn't know a show could have so many waifus

I didn't know a show could have so many waifus

>3dpd

is twin peaks worth watching

no

Season 1 gets your hopes up just to have season 2 ruin everything

hey uh we're postin frogs in here buddy

are you 16 or something?

It's actually a terrible show. I think people watch it ironically

>not posting thematically relevant frogs

>watching meme shows

Name a show that isn't a meme show

>there are people that complain about Annie's acting
Reminder acting wasn't one of Twin Peaks strong points to begin with.

miami vice

saw the show when it was on syndication on ifc in the mid to late 90s. first waifus

>implying the acting isnt intentional.
>implying twin peaks isnt a satire of the soap opera
>mfw people are this retarded

Diane, I made a thread on Sup Forums today expecting a productive discussion on Twin Peaks. I was wrong.

>>implying the acting isnt intentional.
>>implying twin peaks isnt a satire of the soap opera
>>mfw people are this retarded
You're clearly the retard, my point is the acting isn't good to begin with, so there's no reason to single Annie out. Audreyfags are cancer.

>le season 2 is bad meme

Season 2 is a fucking casual filter.

Why are there so few Twin Peaks themed froggoes?

Season 2 has some rough moments, but when it's good it's as good as season one and when it's bad, it's still watchable. If you skip the mid chunk of the season, you didn't like twin peaks to start with, because much of its pointless but its the same comfy place and people.

im 20 and I-

the first nine episodes are better than season 1, it's the stuff after the reveal that is pure garbage

>andy and dick sperm and orphan antics
>donna
>james motorbike spin-off
>windom earle
>nadine schoolgirl arc
>josie hong kong arc
>mr.tojamura
>hank scenes
>bobby and shelly drama
>a bunch of shitty tv directors & writers trying to emulate how "weird & quirky" Lynch is and failing miserably

I-it's satire!!

>people are unironically discussing reddit shows on Sup Forums
what the fuck happened

>twin peaks isnt a satire of the soap opera
It started as a satire of that genre but slowly it actually became one

its a well known fact that the show is satirical. ill bet you think all the vo in the beginning of mulholland drive was just bad filmmaking

what do i have to do

just like pepe started as a satire of the alt-right but slowly became one

>people are unironically discussing alt.usenet shows on Sup Forums

>its a well known fact that the show is satirical

source?

how can you see something like Invitation to Love and not get that it satirizes soap operas?

are you really this retarded or is this post satire?

>ill bet you think all the vo in the beginning of mulholland drive was just bad filmmaking

>he parrots youtube movie analysis videos

You must genuinely be retarded - I didn't say it wasn't satirical, I'm pointing out it's stupid to hate on Annie for bad acting when a lot of the cast is in the same boat.

>show-within-a-show commenting on the events of the show

What does that have to do with satirizing soap operas? Twin Peaks is a murder mystery not a soap

>he doesn't
i mean i knew this board was full of plebs but come on

wut?

he's saying you have a small penis

>Laura
>Donna
>Shelley

That's three THREE solid waifus at best, respectable but not impressive.

>Ask for proof
>Don't get any

I win.

A N G E L O

the format is straight soap opera, centering around a single town and a small cast of characters whose storylines interweave.

Invitation to Love satired Twin Peaks itself, which in turn was a satire of the 80s soap operas.

literally google the words "Twin Peaks" and "satire" and you'll find hundreds of articles making that very obvious link.

Keep up, user.

LISTEN HERE YOU USELESS FROGPOSTING PIECE OF SHIT!!!1! IF I SAY IT'S SATIRE IT'S FUCKING SATIRE! I SAY IRONY, YOU SAY "HOW MANY LAYERS?" GOT IT???? AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT REPLYING WITH ANOTHER SMUG FROG YOU LITTLE SHIT, BECAUSE I HAVE YOUR LITTLE MASTER PLAN INSCRIBED ON MY BRAIN LIKE AN ICEPICK ON A CHALKBOARD. IF YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT FROGPOSTING AGAIN I'LL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND SHOVE AN ACTUAL LIVE FROG DOWN YOUR SHIT EATING THROA!!t!!!

>Audrey
>Lucy
>Maddy
>Norma

you win getting me to fap to hot pepe is what you win.

Donna sucks. Norma and Audrey

Anyone who doesnt think audrey is top tier waifu is a weak cuck who can't handle women or bantz

wtf josie is the hottest bitch on the show

Anyone who has a 3D waifu is a bluepilled normie who doesn't know that irl women are evil heartless bitches.

Why was Twin Peaks so red? Everything about it was so fucking red. It's not colour grading, it's just everything is red.
This for example it's all red

>All shows set in a city with characters is a soap opera

Fucking retard

Anyone wish this full flower of the evening had more screen time?
Truly the patrician waifu

downs syndrome desu

It's because they know their primary audience is cucks, so they make everything red to ensure that all the bulls are scared away.

yes it's part of the soap opera format. source: every soap opera in existence.

You do realize they plan this shit during production right?

...

I don't think you understand what the relationship between bulls and red is, bud.

Well yeah, but why?

>Audrey
Not only a whore but it's cannon that she was literal sex worker. It's like calling a pornstar your "waifu" lmao.
>Lucy
A literal whore, cucked based Andy. Would not risk kissing on the lips for obvious reasons.
>Maddy
Acceptable but basically a great value version of Laura.
>Norma
Old, used up and busted. Probably secretly in too black men aswell.

>not understanding color symbolism

My fave soap opera is The Wire what's yours?

every show based around a small town or city != soap opera
every soap opera = based around a small town or city

it's really not hard to comprehend, friendo.

Reminder Laura / Maddie is the superior Twin Peaks qt.

Directorial decision, aesthetically it looks right, Twin Peaks would look really weird if it didn't have a warm autumn palette. So the sets, costumes and lighting are all built around that

Lords and Ladies wasn't set around a small town or city.

>bulls see the color red
>they instinctively charge towards it and break their televisions

>looks it up
>it's from vidya

>thinks show is satirizing soap operas
>underager doesn't realize how influential twin peaks was and now thinks it's satire in retrospect

yes, it was influential

as a satire of soap opera.

This

Time Magazine, 1990:
>Long before the series' April premiere, ecstatic critics were priming TV viewers to expect the unexpected. Lynch's two-hour pilot didn't disappoint. It was frantic and lugubrious in turn, a soap opera with strychnine.

New York Times, 1990:
>The series explores the town's involvement in her death and the F.B.I. investigation of it. It's kind of a languorous, finely textured soap opera, injecting the form with hallucinatory power.

>Executives at ABC have only a vague idea how America will react to this eerie, experimental soap opera.

>Audrey
She is literally a virgin until the end of s2.
>Lucy
Andy was a retard and they were broken up when she dated Dick anyway.
>Maddy
Nah man she is way qtr than Laura, but i have a thing for brunnetes w glasses.
>Norma
The actress is Rashida Jones' mom, so actually you are right lol

love all those soaps with demonic red midgets and trans-dimensional serial killers in them

>something can't be a satire of soap opera as well as something more
>Lynch was only trying to do one thing

plen pls.

Then it is a shame you haven't watched Buffy.

you're giving lynch too much credit if you think his creative process was anything besides
>throw random shit out there and leave it to the viewer to find meaning

it's in its DNA and is entirely intentional, just as Blue Velvet was satirizing the surface mundanity of 60s suburbia.

Sorry but you're completely oblivious to obvious tropes if you keep denying this.

You're ignorant if you think that's all he does. Everything he's made has a meaning/explanation to him, but he doesn't see it as his job to translate that to the audience. So yes it is up to the viewer, but it's so much more than random, and while his goal isn't to translate his ideas over to you, the creation that stems from those ideas create a purposeful canvas that the viewer can interpret

>film is set in 1986 with a 50's aesthetic
>thinks it's satirizing the 60's

u wot m8

its not like a soap opera, its a crime drama-

>D-Donna my mom's a alcoholic and my dad was a bum!

sorry nvrmnd

What was Dune, Eraserhead and The Elephant Man a satire of?

>try to have a TP thread
>it's always full of autism
STOP IT

50s, 60s, same deal. it's a post-atomic age utopia envisioned by Truman & Eisenhower (who are not-coincidentally referenced often in Twin Peaks)

which actually ties neatly into Reagan era American life.

Nothing.. who said they were?

When did I say that all his works were satire?

garbage taste

>Doesn't realize Dune was satirizing the situation in the middle-east

tut tut, you have a long way to go

>spice is oil
>about desert people rightfully reclaiming their land + resources

damn.

What was dumbland a satire of?

the flash cartoons I used to make on my iMac G3, obviously

What was David Lynch's satirical tax policy?

he doesn't want the government to put its hands on R Money.

If season 2 is good then explain this

FUck you

He supported Bernie Sanders, so I guess he believes in a progressive income tax?

t. Harry

10/10

yeah i didn't want this when i made the thread

...

Was your thread a satire of previous waifu threads?
