War

What are the most realistic war films or tv shows?

Black Hawk Down

generation kill

Dubs confirm. GK was literally an adaptation of a book.

There's a man
Goin' round
Takin' names

Iraq veteran confirmed.

Seriously is there anything even close?
The futility
Dark comedy

I just watched Lebanon, the director was pretty much the principal irl

>quads
Okay, no more needs to be said here.

Not really. I wish another show like this happened.

As far as dark comedy goes, Three Kings is pretty fun. Not realistic though.

I'm so glad I don't have to be the guy to bring up this movie for once.

Das Boot for tanks is great

>in high school
>out with a date to see this movie
>first real girlfriend
>sit in very back row
>theater not full but not empty
>get bored
>start to make out
>she jerks me off
>we go back to her place and i lose my virginity

good times

Inside Combat Rescue on National Geographic

13 Hours give me a major freedom boner like Black Hawk Down.

Why haven't HBO made a show about Vietnam yet?

Still negotiating It Aint Me liscencing

Right? I actually recommended it to someone a few days back in a thread looking for follow-ups to Das Boot. It's criminally underappreciated.

I liked the sequel better

Vietnam is an ancient conflict.
War flicks are too expensive for netflix to produce unless the war is just a side conflict. .

There was a thread a few months back where it was a really cool discussion of the show and just throwing around quotes. It was great, barely any shitposting and just all around a super chill thread.

I heard it missed completely the idea of the first

13 Hours is based as fuck. Best war movie since SPR/BlackHawk Down

I think they perfected it in the next one though

looks like a 2003 pc game.

>War is 98% mind-numbing tedium and waiting and 2% instantaneous action that ends just as quickly as it begins

EXXXXPLOOOOOSSSSIIIOOOOONNNNNNNSSSSS

patrician taste
I wish more people knew about Three Kings

always thought it was funny than an ethnicity of jews is literally called ASHkeNAZI lol

>mfw George Clooney knocked the shit out of David O. Russell because he attacked a crew member

Smug as shit but that was pretty based.

Some of these may not be entirely accurate but some good war movies or TV shows

Movies: Enemy at The Gates, Saving Private Ryan, Jarhead, BlackHawk Down, 13 Hours, Quiet on The Western Front, Glory, Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty.

There's a bunch more that I could name but I can't remember the names of them.

TV shows: Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and the GOAT Generation Kill

Is it worth watching?

Also what the fuck happened to "Masters of the Sky"?

Been in developement since like 2007

David O Russell is a huge fucking hack

I am going to watch them right now

...

Why the fuck do they try to make a series out of it, if the "sequels" have nothing to do with the original?

Well, of course it did. The first was based on a book written by Jake Gyllenhal's character. It was about his real experience in Iraq. There's no room for a sequel.
