why are the stadiums oval if they play american football?

I don't know if anyone knows. That place (Yale Bowl) is ancient, like, legitimately one of the first large scale stadiums built post-Rome.

do comfy hockey barns next.

They used to be athletics stadiums as well

Comfy as hell ALPB stadium just southwest of Houston in Sugarland [Best stadium in ALPB by the way]

Comfy

>you will never get to watch a comfy Ivy game by fraudulently claiming you are black on your application to Yale

Love how tight the stands are at Winona St

this looks sad

The sheer size of the place and having 300k+ people at an event is awe-inspiring

Don't have any to share but I'm monitoring this thread

Kino stadium

>250 foot left field fence

where is this? looks like the chile version of seattle

wish i could have experienced a baseball game at the kingdome, heard it was immensely shitty experience

my shithole hometown

That looks comfy as fuck

how about a hockey chalet?

and it has its own outdoor rink adjacent

i don't really like how the MSG turned out, but here it is under construction in the 1960s

MSG II (which stood from 1890 to 1926)

back then it hosted track cycling, football (on a 70-yard field), and of course boxing

...

...

I'm a sucker for old shots of stadiums

if you thought Montreal's Olympic Stadium was bad...
we cannot let them build their next stadium without supervision

on a slightly comfier note, this was the Expos first ballpark

...

...

>The Yale Bowl's designer, Charles A. Ferry, for unknown reasons chose not to include locker rooms. Players must dress in the Smilow Field Center and walk 200 yards to the stadium.

as for pic related, idk where to start
>originally constructed in the 2nd century AD
>built entirely of fucking marble
>renovated to host the first modern Olympics, 1750 years later (they excavated the ruins and built from there)
>used for domestic/European basketball games in the 1960s
>hosted archery during the 2004 Olympics
>immune to Greek bankruptcy

inb4 some1 posts the meme braga stadium

I saw Randy Johnson's last start as a mariner at the king dome. It was a piece of shit, but still interesting.

posting the best stadium in los angeles

I like the new atlanta stadium

Classy.

Super comfy

Looks like a roofless soccer stadium

wtf this looks uncomfy like that one South African stadium

Why do english stadiums get expanded in a piecemeal fashion? Why don't more start fresh like what Arsenal did?

becuase that will cost more and their isnt much space here

My personal favorite

reminds me of old cricket ground pavilions

nice

>that very prominent ad for darts

i have seen nicer High School stadiums in Texas

...

nice trips
i think i could clear that short home run fence

been there for many a game, back in the day.

many Mexicans have
they played a game there in 2008 and put up a massive screen wall to even things out

are you a recent retiree posting from your timeshare?

oh hell yeah

still the best experience i've had at any venue of any sport

probably the best park in the majors today

>the bears are so consistently poor they have to go back to playing at wrigley

>tfw no real stadium

KINO

>you live close to ebbets
>It’s now just a mere sign on another concrete building

I miss the classic stadiums in NYC.

this is the most retarded thing I've ever seen

...

I like how it looks like a soccer stadium for some shitty lower-tier euro soccer club, but with a football field

I personally prefer Bristol because it has more of the stadium feel to it instead of the fuckhuge infield/redneck breeding ground

Polo Ground's square outfield was GOAT

What's with the wall on the near side? It makes it look like they planned to build a baseball diamond but changed their mind halfway through construction and built a football stadium instead.

comfy Comerica reporting in

Old pic of Oklahoma’s Owen Field also called “the Palace on the Prarie.”

1908-2017

Vale Subiaco

i love how pnc park looks and its on the top of list to visit but my one tiny issue with it is that green wall in center. why is it there?

like this?

You serious nigger, thats the batters eye, every park has one. Provides a backdrop for the batter to be able to see the ball

winona sucks

back when the reddithawks had fans

>a giant metal anus

>going to a yuppie libshit school
