How much is anti-western propaganda prevalent in Chinese film? Just watched pic related and I was surprised at how heavy considering my only other exposure to chinese film is Jackie Chan

Historical accuracy.

>today you will fight this giant white man

I remember when I watched Detective Dee a number of years ago there are a few parts in it where he admonishes people for advocating torture, saying it only further radicalizes people against the state and the information gathered from it is useless. That was back when the CIA using torture and some people being apologists for it was in the news a lot, they probably weren't making a statement on that but it definitely seemed timely.

expect for the part where he doesn't cheat on his wife.

They're not as anti West as they are anti Japan, watch number 1.

Watch once upon a time in China with Jet Li, and Jackie Chan fought misioners in his early movies.

Chinese are turbo plebs desu

Oh yeah, they absolutely LOVE making ww2 movies over there.

I read an article a couple years ago where a group of chinese autists had gone and tallied up the kill count in every Chinese ww2 film and found that more japanese soldiers had died in propaganda movies than were actually killed during the entire war in China.

I couldn't find any good clips of japanese murder porn from chinese cinema on youtube, so take this one from a Korean movie. Same idea, kill as many japs as possible to make everyone feel good. Man they really did piss everyone off.

its more pro-China than anything, which equates to anti all their historical enemies

Chinese films are going to be 80% propaganda. It's a communist country.

The Great Wall had a pretty ridiculous depiction of the Emperor

They are mostly anti west and anti japan if you only watch films that focused on the end of chinese empire era theme. Things like Fist of Fury, Wong Fei Hung films, Fong Sai Yuk films

Now shitty American films pandering to China have Chinese propaganda too. What a blunder.

and Hollywood movies are not propaganda, please Agent Scully

was it any good?

Except films are made by private studios. The government steps in when it criticise them, but doesn't actively make pro communist films.

I don't about anti-western, but I've seen a lot of movies with Jap antagonists lately. Railroad Tigers, Silence, etc.

Not that much compared to anti-communist, anti-islamic propaganda you'll find in hollywood
They do hate the japanese very much, though

they have a government bureau dedicated to watching movies vetting them and possibly censoring them

>he thinks China is communist
reminder they are more capitalist than America is :^)

they censor movies that criticize the government. they won't rewrite your flick so it has anti-burguer propaganda

maybe when it comes to economy but they have plenty of communist policies, I.E. only the government can own land, everything else is leased, you buy a house you basically rent it for 75-99 years

nah but they cut out tiddies and sometimes some bits of dialogs

the japs were the good guys in silence though

china is still in recovery from half a century of euro and jap imperialism, so, not sure if its propaganda

not that vietnam couldn't make similar movies about 1000 years of chinese imperialism

maybe its karma and shit

>comparing imperial China and 19th-20th century western and japanese imperialism

don't go full retard

you do realize that western/jap imperialism was over a century ago and there have been multiple revolutions since then

the chinese have moved on from the era of concessions and unequal treaties, but they're still angry over ww2. The japs were truly inhuman towards them. The Koreans are the same way.

Are there any Chinese movies that are pro-sun yet sen and not pro-commie China?
It's obvious current day China is trying to bully themselves into Hollywood

If they accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior there would never have been a Pearl Harbor or nuclear weapons used though. Checkmate Atheists.

>China
>Against torture
Pretty funny coming from the people who came up with such truly fucked up torture methods. The Russians even brought some Chinese torturers into their Civil War.

>in Kiev, Chinese Cheka detachments placed rats in iron tubes sealed at one end with wire netting and the other placed against the body of a prisoner, with the tubes being heated until the rats gnawed through the victim's body in an effort to escape.

>muh tu quoque
It's not the same thing and you know it, stupid cuck. American films are anti-American half the fucking time.

the cinema you see is that of Taiwan, my friend.
