They don't?

Because they didn't read the book so don't know what's going on

Don't listen to the opinions of 90's born faggots user.

The only bad part about that scene is that the are only about 4 samples of ape screeches.

Who the fuck hates it aside from plebs being forced to watch it in an elective film class at university?

aka what the fuck are you talking about user?

what? that scene is universally praised... and the dawn of man chapter is pure kino and everyone knows it.

A lot of people I know say it's too slow, long, boring, pretentious garbage.

The people who hate this are the same plebs who say the second half of FMJ sucks

the bone scene is probably the greatest scene in cinema.

unless you are some cinematically retarded /lit/ poster

you know a lot of huge plebs then.

>slow, long, boring, pretentious

not really.
kubrick uses dynamic edits and the symbology is easy enough to understand.
granted, its not suicide squad but its not like its tarkovsky's stalker either.

Nobody hates this scene at the beginning of the movie except 14 year olds and manchildren who see contrarian trolls reposted over and over again and think it's a real opinion because they see it so much.

Someone please explain why this is a good scene?
To me it seemed like the shots went for way too long.

the monkey shit is the only part i like

I was pissed when I realized the rest of the movie was space paintings

Because people are plebs.

this scene is universally praised

New still from Kong: Skull Island?

damn I really hope this CGI isn't final. Looks like shit

it's the fucking best part, and i've never heard this opinion

It's the best part of the film. The choreography is something to really fucking behold. All the subtle tics they give our ancestors. I would've loved for the whole film to be just following this family.

The scene is pure, undiluted kino.
The only thing that bothers me is that cut right before the bone reaches its apex before falling.
I guess it didn't match to what Kubrick wanted.
