NCAA sanctions

Why did Baylor and Penn state not get the death penailties for running rape factories but SMU got it for paying players????

less money in cfb back then

also, money > people
t. capitalist

Because paying players is wrong.

If you pay the players too much then they won't suck wrinkly old men

I wonder if he gets special shower times

Because they weren't up for the death penalty. The "Death Penalty" is the repeat violator rule

>raping boys for more than a decade isn't repeating violations

>Not understanding the repeat violator rule
The rule stipulates that if a second major violation occurs at any institution within five years of being on probation in the same sport or another sport, that institution can be barred from competing in the sport involved in the second violation for either one or two seasons. In cases of particularly egregious misconduct, a school can also be stripped of its right to vote at NCAA conventions for four years.

I think 10 is more than one is it not?

see

Catching people spending money a few times is a big no no but if ya fuck 10 kids once it's all good and you'll be right back in the top 5 in CFP rankings in no time

Joe paterno is a hero to child molesters everywhere because he ran the Underground Railroad for pedopholes in his program

Right, every single person complicit is still working at Pen-

They still fly the same flag and honor the same retards with little to no repercussions on the program itself
So penn state as an orginization just paid a few dollars and sat out a meaningless few bowl games and now it's like nothing happened

Are you suggesting that all would be well if they became the Penn Tech Tigers all would be well? Because unless something changed they don't actually Honor Joe Paterno, the crazy students do

Joe is in their sports museum and has players and students petitioning for the return of his shitty ass statue
I think it'd be better if penn state had the same thing happen to them that happened to smu because of the nature of what happened at penn state
Making penn state a medicore team for a long ass time would probably help smooth the shit over and help everyone forget what happened instead of rolling over it and being a front runner every year for the title

>Making penn state a medicore team for a long ass time would probably help smooth the shit over and help everyone forget
That's not true at all. SMU is still known as the school that bought Craig James, Eric Dickerson, and nearly bought a National Title

If it wasn't for the 30 for 30 piece most people wouldn't know and even then there isn't that many people who give two shits about them
When you blow up a program like that it makes it clear that college sports are about morals and even when the sports and programs are riddled with corruption an action such as the death penalty whether it be self inflicted or not would have really shown a commitment to making sure something like this never happens again

>college sports are about morals
They're not, and everyone knows it. If they were "about morals", players would be paid to play there

Go watch Pony Excess, it really showed how deep it ran at SMU. Not to mention they were on double secret probation and basically gave the NCAA a giant middle finger after the Repeat Violator rule came out.

Fuck Penn State though, program should have gotten shut down. At least Paterno had to live through all the backlash and got fired and died a disgrace. Fuck him and his cult family and fans forever.

legally, of course.

I dunno, the man literally died of a broken heart. If he didn't think the school was bringing in the Feds then he must have thought it was all smoke

Considering how long Sandusky had free reign you can make the argument that the child rape was as systemic at Penn State as the cheating was at SMU.

They aren't but It would be really nice if they were about morals
Players should be paid and penn state should have been fucking gone
While the NCAA may be far from perfect there is some simple actions that should be performed to at least make it look like they give a fuck about ethics

Please, he was a god at that school and he knew what Sandusky was doing would bring it all down, he's as guilty as anyone.

I agree, although the cheating at SMU was an actual business there. The boosters and even the damn President of the school were in on it.

The Penn State situation was just sad and disgraceful because nobody had the balls to come forward. Fucking cowards all of them.

The delusional ass fans held a vigil for him and continue to cheer and support joe to this day and nobody at penn state has the balls to say anything about it

They even lifted the bowl and scholarship restrictions early and gave joe all of his wins back like wtf

The death penalty is too good for Baylor desu. That only hits them in one sport. Between the football rape scandal/cover-up and the basketball murder scandal/cover-up about 15 years ago their entire athletic department deserves to be shuttered.
