I'm four episodes into season 2, when is it supposed to "click"?
I'm four episodes into season 2, when is it supposed to "click"?
when mike shows up, so season 5 i think
Skip the rest of Season 2 and watch an episode from Season 3 or 4. If you're still not feeling it, skip to the Mike episodes (first one is season 5 episode 12).
Mikes first episode is literally the best episode, Mitchell.
>Hey is that a beer?
Honestly skip around. There's an essential guide floating around somewhere but I don't have it.
My personal faves in no particular order:
>Joel Episodes
Mitchell
Pod People
City Limits
Any of his shorts
Any Gamera episode
Manos the Hands of Fate
Giant Gila Monster
Eegah
>Mike
Angels Revenge
Laserblast
Wild World of Batwoman
Literally any Sci Fi episode. Best skits, too. Special mention for Jack Frost, Hobgoblins, and Space Mutiny
The Joel era has to be properly watched to be enjoyed:
>Late at night, all light's are out
>Play the episode on your tv, no pussy computer-screen
>Lay down on your couch
>Popcorn/Candy/Snack of your choice and drink
>You have now achieved comfy
It's the only way I could get through the Joel era, it has to be watched like kids watched it back in the day. There's also the fact that Joel's sleepiness just add to the comfy factor.
When Mike comes in it gets better and more approachable.
Honestly, Joelfags are pure nostalgiafags, Mike's era is a lot more entertaining.
You're really close. Catalina Caper is a fun 60's romp, but they really had a tough time riffing a straight-up comedy.
Rocket Attack USA (205) is just as good as anything from seasons 3-6.
>Fun fact, it has the first end credits stinger
thanks for the input guys
Season 3 is when it starts to get great.
Mike is better in the skits
Joel is better in the theater
It's the exact opposite of this.
It gets good when you get to the later season 2 Godzilla episodes and stays good from then on.
Best season of all is season 3.
The first third of The Incredible Melting Man is literally some of the best MST3K ever got. So that should get a special mention too.
Mike is just more fun overall but lacks the good sight gags Joel had.
>Angels Revenge
I may have furiously masturbated to this episode no less than seven times.
""Manos"" the hands of fate
>Honestly skip around
This desu. 99% of shows you shouldn't but MST3k has very, very little plot outside the 'The Sci-Fi Channel era' when there was a bit in the host segments, but it honestly doesn't matter. My favourites:
Mike
>Riding With Death
>Time Chasers
>Final Justice
>Escape 2000
>Puma Man
>Hobgoblins
>The Deadly Bees
>Overdrawn at the Memory Bank
>Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movies (This Island Earth)
>Jack Frost
>The Final Sacrifice
>Space Mutiny
Joel
>Pod People
>Master Ninja I
>Master Ninja II
>The Castle of Fu-Manchu
>Manos: The Hands of Fate
>Mitchell
>Moon Zero Two
Final Justice is the best.
Damn, you really nailed that. I need to try this again soon.
...
It's easily in my top 3. I bought it on DVD out of curiosity and it's a really dark movie actually, they cut out a lot of stuff like one scene where the bad guy rapes a woman in the shower.
...
You are forgetting "cave dwellers", that one is pretty epic. Also:
>pod people
>future war
>space mutiny
>devil fish
>screaming skull
>giant spider invasion
>>screaming skull
One of my favourite skits. Is it even possible to argue against the fact that Mike had the best host segments?
