I agree with about 80% of what you said. For me, the first 2/3 of the movie were unironically kino. It wasn't just great by superhero movie standards, it was great period. I'm serious when I say Jackman and Stewart deserve Oscar noms. Without a doubt the best acted Superhero movie, period. They made a fantastic decision in keeping the story simple, and small. No world ending threats, no alien invasions, no time traveling mumbo jumbo, just a guy, "completing a job." For me, the movie falls apart at the 3rd act. As soon as they reached the kids outpost, it really felt as though they rushed to the end, and it became painfully formulaic. Which is unfortunate because everything beforehand was anything but. I would rather much prefer the whole kids haven be scrapped. Have a moment where X-23 loses hope because it turns out the whole eden thing was fake. Also, personally felt Logan's death was unseramonious. I mean come on. 17 years of Logan and a log through the stomach does him in? Come on! Still one of the better superhero movies I've seen, shame about the thrid act. The final shot was cool tho.

Agreed this is truly an amazing piece of cinema and a huge step forward for the superhero genre. After Civil War everyone assumed superhero films peaked but this truly takes it to a whole other level. I mean come on, an R rated superhero film? That's nuts! In past X-Men movies when Wolverine would claw somebody it would be bloodless but here you get to see the blood and hear curse words. What a huge risk Twentieth Century Fox is taking with this by putting the most recognizable X-Men character in the first ever R rated superhero movie. Seriously rush out to the theater and be sure to bring as many friends as you can to this truly game changing film because with Logan you're in for a hell of a fucking ride.

Only Caliban had a 'good' death.
